Abstract

Relationship between Characteristics and Farmer Participation in Corporate Farming Program in Kuwarasan Sub-District, Kebumen Regency. The Corporate Farming Program aims to consolidate small landholdings and enhance production efficiency through institutional support, technology, and market access. The success of this program heavily depends on farmer participation, which is influenced by characteristics such as age, education, land size, farming experience, and income. This study aims to examine the characteristics of farmers, their participation levels, and the relationship between them in the Corporate Farming Program in Kuwarasan Sub-district. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational descriptive design. The research sample consists of 30 farmers randomly selected from 92 program participants. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 27 to identify factors influencing farmer participation. The relationship between farmer characteristics and participation shows that non-formal education has a positive and significant influence on all stages of participation. Farm income also positively influences the planning and utilization stages, while non-farm income tends to reduce participation. Farming experience has a positive influence on the utilization stage. These findings suggest that enhancing non-formal education and farm income can increase farmer participation in the program. Based on the research results, it is recommended that the Agriculture and Food Agency of Kebumen Regency and the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) of Kuwarasan enhance land consolidation and mentoring strategies to maximize farmer participation. Farmers are also encouraged to be more active in farmer group activities, while successful farmer groups can organize workshops or exhibitions to attract other farmers. Local governments are expected to facilitate access to services for farmer groups. Thus, the Corporate Farming Program can be more effective in empowering smallholder farmers and improving agricultural productivity in Kuwarasan Sub-district.

Abstract

Farmers’ Motivation in Sweet Corn Cultivation to Improve Farmers’ Income Welfare in Senggi Sub-District, Keerom Regency. Senggi Sub-district, Keerom Regency, has significant potential in the promising sweet corn commodity. However, farmers’ motivation in sweet corn cultivation is still constrained by several factors, such as income, land size, and social environment. This study aims to analyze farmers’ motivation in sweet corn cultivation and its relationship with the improvement of farmers’ income welfare in Senggi Sub-district, Keerom Regency. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a population of 200 farmers, from which 60 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using interval width tests and Spearman’s rank correlation. The results indicate that farmers’ motivation is dominated by the need for livelihood sustainability, with 51.67% of respondents categorized as very high. Age does not have a significant effect on motivation, whereas non-formal education, land size, number of family members, income, and social environment were found to have a positive and significant relationship with farmers’ motivation. In contrast, the economic environment showed no significant relationship. These findings suggest that enhancing farmers’ capacity through non-formal education, strengthening the social environment, and optimizing land use can increase motivation and productivity in sweet corn cultivation. The study’s implications highlight the importance of sustainable mentoring programs, improved access to training, and government support in developing sweet corn farming to promote the improvement of farmers’ welfare in Senggi Sub-district.

Abstract

The farmer card program was launched in 2016 with the initial aim of streamlining the distribution of subsidized fertilizers, and only small farmers are targeted by this program. One of the sub-districts in Karanganyar Regency that has implemented the farmer card program is Tasikmadu. Almost all farmers registered in e-RDKK/e-Alokasi already have a farmer card, and Tasikmadu became the sub-district with the highest purchase of subsidized fertilizer using the farmer card in Karanganyar in 2020. This farmer card program raises various responses from various characteristics of farmers. This research aims to explore the correlation between characteristics and responses of farmer to the farmer card program in Tasikmadu Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency. The primary research method is quantitative, and location determination is intentionally (purposely) in Tasikmadu Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency. Sampling was carried out using the multi-stage cluster random sampling method, with a total of 60 farmers as samples. The data used consists of primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through interviews using questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from related parties in this study, namely the Tasikmadu Sub-district office, Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Tasikmadu, and previous research. The data analysis was carried out using Rank Spearman analysis. The results show that there is a significant relationship between age, education level, extension activities, and access to information with farmers’ responses to the farmer card program. However, there is no significant relationship between farming experience and land size with the farmer card program.

Abstract

The Planting Area Expansion (PAT) program aims to optimize rice fields that were previously hampered by water limitations through the use of water pumps to increase water availability during the dry season. The objectives of the study were to analyze farmers’ attitudes towards the PAT program, describe factors that shape these attitudes, and examine the relationship between these factors and farmers’ attitudes in Weru Sub-district, Cirebon Regency. The method used was quantitative with data collection through observation, interviews using questionnaires, and documentation. A total of 77 farmers were determined as respondents using the proportional random sampling technique, and the data were analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that most farmers were hesitant regarding the outcomes and impacts of the PAT program due to increased production costs during the dry season, leading them to disagree with its benefits. The farming experience factor had a significant positive relationship with farmers’ attitudes, while formal education, non-formal education, and the role of people considered important had a significant negative relationship. Age and local culture factors did not have a significant relationship with farmers’ attitudes. These results indicate that farming experience contributes to forming a more positive attitude towards the PAT program, while education, intensity of extension, and social roles tend to form attitudes that are hesitant or less supportive. This study suggests that experienced farmers be the main target of the program and reduce the intensity of discussions about the PAT program in agricultural extension activities.

This investigation was conducted in Delanggu Sub-district, Klaten Regency. All of the participants in this investigation were rice farmers from the Delanggu Sub-district. The number of 48 respondents was chosen purposefully or intentionally as the sample size. They utilized descriptive analysis and logistic regression for analysis. Abstract

The principle of sustainable management of natural resources is equality. Equality comes not only from the roles of different interest groups but also from gender equality. This research aims to analyze the impact of developing tourist villages on gender equality. The basic method in this research is qualitative, using a case study approach. The gender analysis model used in this research is the Gender Analysis Matrix (GAM). The research location was selected purposively, and informants were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Research data was obtained by interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusions drawing. The validity of the data used is triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this research show that men and women have their respective roles in the aspects of labor, time, resources and social culture. The development of tourism villages has not achieved gender equality because women’s positions are still weak in community institutions. There is a need for public awareness to improve institutions, so that men and women obtain equal positions in deliberations and management of the institution itself.
