Abstract

This research was motivated by students' low mathematics learning outcomes at one of the State High Schools in Umbunasi. The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between character education and mathematics learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative descriptive method emphasizing the cause-and-effect relationship. The research design applied is correlational. The research subjects comprised 24 students in grade XII-Science at the State High School. The instruments used to collect data include observations, questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. The study results showed that the questionnaire and test data were normally distributed. The hypothesis test using the t-test produced a local value = 603, more significant than the ttable value = 1.717, which means that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, indicating a significant relationship between character education and mathematics learning outcomes. The results of the product-moment correlation test showed a calculation value = 0.700, more significant than the table = 0.404, which showed a strong relationship between the two variables and the contribution of character education of 49.06% to mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini di latar belakangi berdasarkan hasil pendahuluan yang di lakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Hiliduho, di temukan masalah apakah ada atau tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran 4C untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Jenis dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Metode eksperimen dengan variabel terikat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, dan variabel bebas adalah keterampilan model pembelajaran 4C. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Hiliduho, Sampel dalam penelitian teridiri dua kelas dengan jumlah siswa 40. Intrumen penelitian berbentuk tes uraian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Hasil penelitian yang di peroleh berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis satu pihak, di peroleh nilai  sebesar = 3,155 dan == = 1,739 karena = 3,155 >  = 1,739, maka tolak  diterima  yang berarti “Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran 4C untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa” Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran 4C, Pemahaman Konsep   Abstract The background of this research was based on preliminary results conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Hiliduho, where the problem was found whether or not there was an influence of the 4C learning model to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This type of research is qualitative research using experimental methods. The experimental method with the dependent variable increases students' understanding of mathematical concepts, and the independent variable is the 4C learning model skills. The population of this research were students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Hiliduho. The sample in the research consisted of two classes with a total of 40 students. The research results obtained were based on one-party hypothesis testing, obtained a value of = 3.155 and == = 1.739 because = 3.155 > = 1.739 , then reject Ho and accept Ha which means "There is an influence of the 4C learning model to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts" Keywords: 4C Learning Model, Concept Understanding

Abstract

Student academic performance is a key indicator of successful study program management. Detection of academic performance can help study program managers monitor and take proactive action against students who are potentially experiencing difficulties. Machine learning can be a solution to this challenge by assisting in the classification and detection of students' academic abilities. Machine learning techniques have proven to be very effective in analyzing complex data and uncovering hidden patterns that are difficult to detect by humans. This research aims to explore the implementation of machine learning algorithms in detecting students' academic performance, especially in the Mathematics Education Study Program at Nias University. With the advancement of technology, machine learning has proven to be effective in classifying data and detecting hidden patterns that traditional methods cannot identify. This research uses the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to predict student academic performance based on a dataset collected from student primary data. The dataset includes factors such as GPA, attendance, participation, and use of learning resources. The analysis results show that the SVM model used has an accuracy of 77.59%, with a bias that is more inclined to the class of students with good academic performance. The results of this study are expected to make a practical contribution in the development of more effective learning methods and personalization of academic interventions in higher education.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of preliminary study observations that have been carried out by researchers at the Vocational High School (SMK) Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara which is located on Jl. Tafaeri Menuju Desa Hambawa, Gunungsitoli City. Where it turns out that SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara has used the Independent Curriculum in the 2023/2024 academic year so that the purpose of this study is "to what extent is the implementation of their curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara". The type of research used is qualitative research in this study. information is collected through observation and interviews. Data reduction techniques, data visualization, and conclusion drawing were used to analyze the data. The independent variable of this study is the Implementation of the independent curriculum and the dependent variable is Mathematics learning at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara. The results of the study obtained based on observations and interviews at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara, namely the implementation of the independent curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli has been implemented in the 2023-2024 academic year until now, then the school applies the Independent learning category. then the implementation of learning in the independent curriculum is in accordance with the implementation and evaluation planning. Then the obstacles encountered in schools such as lack of facilities and infrastructure, reduced internet facilities, reduced teacher readiness in teaching, especially in making CP, TP, ATP and also learning modules and efforts to overcome these obstacles are to carry out training for teachers then maximize the availability of facilities and infrastructure and also internet facilities. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini didasari oleh hasil observasi studi pendahuluan yang telah dilaksanakan oleh peneliti di Sekolah Mengengah Kejuran (SMK) Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara yang mana lokasinya di  Jl. Tafaeri Menuju Desa Hambawa, Kota Gunungsitoli. Dimana ternyata SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara sudah mengunakan Kurikulum merdeka pada tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024  sehingga adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah “ sejauh mana penerapan kurikulum mereka di SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara”. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dalam penelitian ini. informasi dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Teknik reduksi data, visualisasi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan digunakan untuk menganalisis data.variabel bebas dari penelitian ini adalah Implementasi kurikulum merdeka dan sedangkan variable terikatnya adalah pembelajaran Matematika di SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara.Hasil dari penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara di SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara yaitu implementasi kurikulum merdeka di SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli telah diterapkan pada tahun ajaran 2023-2024 hingga sekarang kemudian sekolah menerapkan kategori Mandiri belajar. kemudian pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kurikulum merdeka sudah sesuai adanya perencanaan pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kemudian kendala-kendala yang didapatkan di sekolah seperti kurangnya sarana dan prasarana, kurangi fasilitas internet, kurangi kesiapan guru dalam mengajar terlebih dalam pembuatan CP,TP,ATP dan juga modul belajar dan upaya untuk mengatasi kendala-kendala tersebut yaitu melaksanakan pelatihan-pelatihan kepada guru-guru kemudian memaksimalkan ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana dan juga fasilitas internet.

Abstract

Learning processes and daily life are significantly influenced by reasoning ability. Specifically, in mathematics education, reasoning is crucial for students to master. Reasoning plays a vital role in the development of mathematical thinking, serving as a foundation that enables students to delve into and understand general mathematical concepts and to draw conclusions from mathematical problems. By applying a problem-based learning model, students can be assisted in solving mathematical problems related to current issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological perspective, aiming to analyze and describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the problem-based learning model. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Utara. The results showed that after the reasoning ability test, student scores varied, with the highest score being 87, the lowest 31, and an average of 63.35, categorized as moderate. The analysis identified several factors affecting students' reasoning abilities, including lack of conceptual understanding, inconsistency in problem identification, lack of precision, and difficulty in finding formulas to solve problems.

Abstract

One effective alternative for students to enhance their understanding of the concepts they are learning through systematic study activities is the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD). There are many mathematical skills that students need to develop, one of which is critical thinking. The ability to think critically in mathematics should be improved. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method. The R&D method is used to create a product and evaluate its effectiveness. In this study, the resulting product is the development of open-ended LKPD for the topic of Congruence and Similarity of Plane Figures for eighth-grade students. Based on the results from each validation test, the improvement from the first and second revisions by the material expert validator (Validator 1) showed a percentage increase of 18.59%, and the improvement in assessment by the Validator 1 was 12.1%. The language expert validator showed an improvement of 27.38% from the first to the second revision. The design expert validator showed an improvement of 33.47% from the first to the second revision. Furthermore, the practicality test results indicated that 89.87% of the open-ended LKPD is practical for use in mathematics instruction. Data from the learning achievement test revealed a student mastery percentage of 87%. This indicates that the development of open-ended LKPD for mathematics instruction on the topic of Congruence and Similarity of Plane Figures has a very high level of effectiveness.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a recent initiative in Indonesia's education reform aimed at granting greater autonomy to schools and teachers in designing the learning process tailored to students' needs. Specifically, the Merdeka Curriculum is a government-driven process designed to create an environment that encourages students' active participation in learning, particularly in mathematics education. This process also involves active student engagement and reflects the outcomes of the learning experience. Student learning outcomes refer to the abilities acquired through educational activities and serve as quantitative indicators of post-learning evaluation. This study was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Utara, specifically in Grade VIII. The research design is a qualitative descriptive study aimed at analyzing and describing student learning outcomes with respect to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Analysis of test results, which were administered to assess students' understanding of exponentiation concepts, revealed an average score of 65.74, with a mastery percentage of 70.37% and a non-mastery percentage of 29.63%. The student learning outcomes under the Merdeka Curriculum also show significant variation, depending on the preparedness of schools and teachers for implementing this curriculum.

Abstract

Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Selain itu, minimnya bahan ajar yang berbasis digital oleh guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan e-modul pembelajaran yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri atas 5 tahapan yaitu analisis (Analyze), desain (design), pengembangan (development), penerapan (implementation), dan evaluasi (evaluation). Kami menggunakan instrumen tes hasil belajar, angket validasi ahli materi, angket validasi ahli bahasa, angket validasi ahli media, angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan beruapa data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah teruji dan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi validitas materi, validitas bahasa, dan validitas media. Selanjutnya, e-modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan juga sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. E-modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan juga efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang terlihat dari nilai hasil tes belajar siswa. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi harapan serta tujuan penelitian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi berdasarkan studi pendahuluan peneliti dimana pemilihan model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional, minimnya perhatian pada gaya belajar siswa, serta kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran creative problem solving terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Kami menggunakan quasi eksperimen design dengan melibatkan siswa UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli sebanyak 50 siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini berbentuk uraian kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan angket gaya belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran creative problem solving terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Berdasarkan angket gaya belajar awal dan akhir siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol aspek dominan gaya belajar siswa pada kedua kelas adalah visual.

Abstract

Hasil studi pendahuluan kami menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional dan rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Matematis. Kami menggunakan desain experiment dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sebanyak 60 siswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berasal dari siswa kelas IX UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli. Kami menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis satu pihak, diperoleh thitung sebesar 8,734 dan ttabel sebesar 1,671 yang berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Matematis Siswa
