Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the synectic model in enhancing students' narrative writing skills. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 60 participants randomly assigned to either a control group or an experimental group. Data collection utilized pretests and posttests to assess students' writing performance. Analysis involved calculating mean scores and employing t-tests and gain score analysis to determine the impact of the synectic model. The results revealed a significant increase in narrative writing abilities among students in the synectic model group compared to the control group. This suggests that the synectic model effectively promotes creative thinking and diverse perspectives, making it a valuable tool for educators to improve students' narrative writing skills. The study highlights the potential of the synectic model in fostering narrative writing skills. Educators can integrate this model into their curriculum to enhance students' writing abilities. Further research is recommended to explore the model's effectiveness in different contexts and grade levels.

Abstract

Peristiwa tahun 1965 telah menjadi sejarah kelam bagi nilai-nilai kemanusiaan bangsa Indonesia. Hingga saat ini, masih sering terdengar pembahasan seputar peristiwa ini, tidak terkecuali di dalam karya sastra. Salah satunya yaitu cerpen Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur karya Sasti Gotama. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengungkapkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan yang ada di dalam cerpen serta menarik pemaknaan darinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Data bersumber data kutipan teks cerpen Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori Sosiologi Sastra. Kemudian dilakukan pemaknaan teks melalui interpretasi teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerpen Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur mengungkapkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan yang diperlihatkan melalui representasi manusia dan kemanusiaan, serta kritik dan seruan kemanusiaan di dalam ceritanya. Representasi manusia dan kemanusiaan diungkapkan cerpen melalui media hewan yaitu seekor kucing dan garangan. Analisis mengungkapkan bahwa cerpen ini mengandung kritik tentang kemanusiaan sekaligus seruan untuk menghidupkan kembali rasa kemanusiaan dan nurani untuk dapat memanusiakan sesama. Abstract The tragedy of 1965 have been a dark history for the humankind ​​in Indonesia. Until now, the discussion about the 1965 tragedy is still continue, including in literary works. One of them is Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur, a short story  written by Sasti Gotama. The purpose of this research is to reveal the values of humankind ​​in Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur and to conclude the meaning of the whole text. This research is a qualitative research that using descriptive analysis to reveal the meaning. The resource of the data is the text of Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur. The data had been analyzed by using the theory of Sociology of Literature. Then, the meaning of the whole text is revealed through text-interpretation. The results of the study shows that Semua Yang Mati Harus Dikubur expresses the values of humankind. It is shown through the representations of humans and humanities, as well as criticism and calls for humanity in the story. The representation of humans and humanities is expressed in the short story through animal, namely a cat and a mongoose. The analysis reveals that this short story contains criticism about humanity as well as a call to revive humanity and conscience to be able to humanize others.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keterampilan literasi informasi mahasiswa dalam penulisan esai dengan tema kritik terhadap lingkungan (ekokritik). Literasi informasi adalah sebuah keterampilan atau kemampuan yang dibutuhkan pada zaman sekarang. Keterampilan literasi informasi yang baik akan memberikan dampak yang besar bagi seseorang dalam menafsirkan sebuah informasi terkait kebenaran informasi tersebut. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa MKU Bahasa Indonesia tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah satu kelas yang dipilih secara random sampling. Indikator yang digunakan dalam menganalisis esai siswa terkait keterampilan literasi informasi dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) yang disesuaikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 46.67% yang kurang kompeten, 40% cukup kompeten, 6.6% yang kompeten, dan 6.6% yang sangat kompeten. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa mahasiswa belum memiliki keterampilan literasi informasi yang baik terhadap kritik lingkungan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menemukan informasi terkait hal tersebut padahal kritik terhadap lingkungan adalah karangan yang seharusnya menarik.

Abstract

Horror films circulating in Indonesia today can be watched by anyone from various social media, including underage elementary school students. As a result of watching this horror film, students often fantasize and imagine everything must be scary and scary. Even students will also write stories about that scary thing in the assignment given by the teacher. This study aims to analyze writings made by elementary school students that reflect horror stories in Indonesian horror films. The subjects of the study were 31 students of SD 05 Nagrek with works containing ghost stories whose contents were almost the same as ghost stories in Indonesian horror films. Research is descriptive qualitative research with observation, interview, documentation methods. The data analysis technique used is the theory of Miles and Huberman which is carried out by means of (1) Data reduction (2) Data presentation (3) Conclusion drawing and verification. Checking the validity of data is carried out by extending observations and triangulation. The triangulation used in this study is source triangulation which is done by checking data that has been obtained through several sources. The results showed that (1) half of the 31 students wrote stories with content that was almost similar to ghost stories filmed in Indonesia. (2) Students get ideas in writing ghost stories from watching themselves, told by friends and just imagining.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the transformation of teacher competency in developing Independent Curriculum teaching modules based on differentiated learning at SMA Negeri 1 Harau Regency. The transformation from Curriculum 2013 (K13) to Independent Curriculum requires teachers to adjust their learning tools, replace the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) with a Teaching Module. This training was organized by a community service team from Lecturers of the Regional Indonesian Language and Literature Department and involved 75 teachers. This program includes an explanation of the introduction of student characteristics, understanding the concept of differentiated learning, and strategies for writing teaching modules that integrate these principles. Interactive discussions, direct practice, reflection, and pre-test and post-test evaluations through the Quizizz application were used. The results of the analysis showed an increase in teacher understanding and skills in implementing differentiated learning when designing learning modules. The learning modules produced after the training proved to be more integrated with the principles of differentiated learning compared to the previous version.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve teacher writing skills and the ability to search for reliable information as a source of reference and create digital libraries for writing scientific articles. The method of implementing this service used training. This service partner was the teachers at SMPN 16 Padang. The instruments for evaluating this service activity were the articles written by the teachers, which were analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that teachers could produce relevant scientific articles that could be used for teacher promotion. Approximately 80% of teachers could master how to turn class action research reports into scientific articles. In addition, this activity could improve 100% of teachers' understanding of the procedures for writing and publishing scientific articles in accredited journals. This success was seen from the articles made by the teachers according to the template from the specified journal.

Abstract

Guru adalah tiang keberhasilan dalam mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan yang diinginkan dalam sebuah pembelajaran. Pada era modern ini seorang guru hendaknya mampu melakukan inovasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran terutama pada media pembelajaran yang akan digunakan. Artikel ini membahas efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi canva untuk mendesain perangkat pembelajaran yang dirancang secara unik dan modern. yang mendukung dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di SD Negeri 01 Nagari Kurai. Canva yaitu media desain grafis yang dapat diakses secara online dilengkapi dengan banyak pilihan fitur yang bisa dimanfaatkan pendidik untuk menciptakan sebuah perangkat pembelajaran unik dan interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ceramah dan praktik langsung pada guru SD Negeri 01 Nagari Kurai mengenai canva, tata cara menggunakannya, diskusi serta evaluasi dari kegiatan. Hasil akhir evaluasi yaitu proses pelatihan berjalan lancar dan guru juga sudah dapat membuat media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan canva. Selain itu respon yang diberikan oleh guru SD Negeri 01 Nagari Kurai juga sangat positif dan mendukung kegiatan penelitian yang dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah anorganik di wilayah pedesaan masih menjadi tantangan serius, terutama karena rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam memilah dan mengelola sampah. Sampah anorganik seperti plastik, kaleng, kotak susu, dan styrofoam membutuhkan waktu ratusan tahun untuk terurai, sehingga jika dikelola secara tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan pencemaran tanah, air, dan udara. Nagari Kurai di Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota merupakan salah satu wilayah yang menghadapi permasalahan ini akibat kebiasaan membuang sampah sembarangan dan minimnya fasilitas pengelolaan sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan masyarakat melalui metode sederhana berupa pemasangan plang edukasi sampah anorganik. Plang didesain dengan memanfaatkan bahan lokal, menampilkan sampah anorganik asli yang ditempel, dilengkapi informasi lama waktu terurai, dan ajakan singkat dalam bahasa yang mudah dipahami. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari hari, dengan metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan singkat. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat, ditandai dengan mulai adanya pemilahan sampah rumah tangga, pengurangan sampah yang dibuang sembarangan, serta inisiatif warga membuat tempat sampah terpisah. Plang edukasi berfungsi sebagai pengingat visual yang efektif dan mudah diakses oleh seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Kesimpulannya, pemasangan plang edukasi sederhana dapat menjadi langkah awal membangun budaya peduli lingkungan di pedesaan. Strategi ini efektif, murah, dan berkelanjutan jika dikombinasikan dengan dukungan pemerintah nagari dan program lanjutan seperti bank sampah atau daur ulang terpadu.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of examining folklore as intangible cultural heritage, particularly the legend of "Anak Durhaka Ojuang" from Kuantan Singingi Regency, which is rich in moral values but rarely analyzed from a pragmatic linguistics perspective. This research aims to identify and analyze the speech context, types of speech acts, and cultural values embedded in the story. A descriptive qualitative method with discourse analysis was employed, utilizing Austin and Searle's speech act theory and Kluckhohn's cultural value framework. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with a native storyteller and textual analysis of the narrative. The results reveal an informal narration context, yet key utterances—such as Ojuang's denial and his mother's curse—function as declarative speech acts that reproduce the community's cosmological values. The story serves as a mechanism for social control and character education, emphasizing filial piety, religiosity, solidarity, and work ethic. It is concluded that the Ojuang legend is an effective value maintenance system where language acts not merely as a communication tool but also as an instrument for enforcing cultural norms. These findings contribute to folklore research methodology with an integrated linguistic approach.
