Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan mengatasi masalah yang dialami oleh guru di lingkungan Kelompok Kerja Madrasah Ibtidiyah Kecamatan Jagakarsa, Jakarta Selatan, yaitu kesulitan guru dalam menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa untuk mempelajari matematika karena kurang menguasai metode, model, pendekatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan inovatif. Salah satunya dengan permainan ular tangga sebagai inovasi pembelajaran matematika di tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Ular tangga adalah salah satu permainan tradisional dimana papan permainan ular tangga terdiri dari kotak-kotak kecil yang sudah diberi nomor dan beberapa gambar seperti tangga dan ular, yang dapat menghubungkan kotak satu ke kotak yang lainnya. Permainan ular tangga dimodifikasi sedemikian rupa peraturannya serta bidang permainannya sebagai inovasi pendekatan pembelajaran matematika yang menyenangkan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 48 orang perwakilan guru MI se-Kecamatan Jagakarsa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dengan melakukan penjelasan mengenai apa manfaat pendekatan permainan ular tangga serta bagaimana  cara pemanfaatannya dan hubungannya dengan matematika, pengenalan permainan tradisional itu sendiri kemudian dilanjutkan pada implementasi permainan ular tangga, hingga membuat  soal-soal matematika yang berkaitan dengan materi matematika menggunakan pendekatan permainan ular tangga. Luaran yang didapat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu guru MI se-Jagakarsa dapat menerapkan pengetahuan yang didapat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini kepada siswa. Kata kunci: pembelajaran matematika, permainan, ular tangga ABSTRACTActivity Community Service aims to address problems experienced by teachers in the Working Group Madrasah Ibtidiyah Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, namely the difficulty of teachers in fostering student interest to learn math because lack of control methods, models, learning approach that is fun and innovative. One of them with a game of snakes and ladders as an innovative learning of mathematics at the elementary level.Snakes and ladders is one of the traditional game of snakes and ladders board game which consists of small boxes that have been given a number and a few images such as ladders and snakes, which can connect one box to another box. Snakes and ladders game rules modified in such a way as well as areas of the game as an innovative approach to learning math fun. This service activities attended by 48 representatives of teachers MI se Jagakarsa. The method of this activity by doingan explanation of what the benefits of snakes and ladders to approach the game and how its use and its relationship with math, introduction to traditional games itself and then proceed to the implementation of the game of snakes and ladders, to create math problems relating to the material using a mathematical approach to the game of snakes and ladders. Outcomes obtained from these service activities, namely MI se-Jagakarsa teacher can apply the knowledge gained from this service activities to the students. Keywords: mathematics education, games, snakes and ladders

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat berpikir mahasiswa berdasarkan Teori van Hiele yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif pada mata kuliah Geometri Analitik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 2 Program Studi Matematika Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Purwokerto sebanyak 5 mahasiswa mewakili kelompok Field Dependent (FD), 5 mahasiswa mewakili Fieid Intermediate (FM) dan 2 mahasiswa mewakili Independent Field (FI). Data tingkat berpikir diperoleh dari tes diagnostik dan wawancara, sedangkan data gaya kognitif diperoleh dari hasil uji Group Embedded Figure (GEFT). Subjek diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan validasi data menggunakan metode triangulasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FD adalah visualisasi dan analisis, tingkat berpikir mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FM adalah visualisasi dan pra-analisis, dan tingkat berpikir siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FI adalah pra-deduksi informal.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to design mathematics learning media with the help of educandy applications for grade II elementary school teachers. The place of this research will be carried out at the Mathematics Laboratory of Indraprasta University PGRI with a research time of five months. The type of research used is the type of research and development (Research and Development). This research procedure adapts the ADDIE Model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluate). The subjects in this study were educational games mathematics learning media using the educandy application on elementary school class II questions. The results of the research on the design of this mathematics learning media have been arranged questions in the form of educational games for grade II elementary schools. Educational game contains questions on whole numbers from 0-1000, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division.

Abstract

This research is an effort to improve students' critical thinking ability by applying Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning with Means Ends Analysis (MEA) strategy. The method used in this research is classroom action research in 2 cycles. Each cycle passes through 4 stages; they are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The learning process in class X IPS-3 for each cycle uses RME approach with MEA strategy. Students are given an essay test at each end of the cycle to measure their critical thinking abilities. Conclusion shows that students’ critical thinking ability increases from 56% (cycle I) to 84% (cycle II) by applying RME approach with MEA strategy.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the process of concept formation in reinventing Pythagorean Theorem and to analyze the result of that process and the misconceptions that may emerge. The type of this research is qualitative research which is analyzed descriptively. This research applies class setting method in learning activity with the implementation of PMRI approach and it focuses on two subjects. The results shows that the process of concept formation in reinventing the Pythagorean Theorem with PMRI approach can work well. However, the two subjects have not been able to construct the given problem, which is in the form of a question, to be the form of a mathematical modeling. Subject 1 still processes the information rawly. Therefore, the result of concept finding with his/her knowledge used for solving problems by the same model has not been able to reduce data. Subject 2 has been able to process the obtained information and he/she can interpret the problem further. However, both subjects still experience misconceptions not only in their already possessed knowledge but also their newly acquired knowledge. Those misconceptions are misconception in calculating operation of equation system, which should be calculating operation on both segments but it is only carried out in one segment, misconception in describing hypotenuse and misconception in naming edges of a right triangle.

Abstract

The design of HOTS Ethnic-Mathematics is the stage that has been intended in this study. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) by producing results in the form of Mathematics Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions based on culture and local wisdom (Ethnic-Math HOTS). The development model referred to by the researcher is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) which is adapted into Analysis, Design, and Development (ADD). The conclusion of this paper is Mathematical problem designs that are integrated with local culture and local wisdom can be developed into questions that have a function to measure students' high-level abilities. High-level abilities that can be measured using these questions are analytical skills, evaluation skills and creative abilities. By completing questions related to the culture in the area around students, students will be more challenged and motivated to do it. In addition, it will increase students' knowledge about the local culture in the area.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research were to identify and to describe about misconceptions, and to find out the levels of response of VIII grade students of SMP N 5 Karanganyar experiencing misconceptions about factorization of the tribe in algebra based on SOLO taxonomy. This research was categorized as a qualitative research using a case study design which was only focused on one selected and comprehended phenomenon deeply, and neglecting other phenomena. This particular phenomenon was the response level based on SOLO taxonomy of VIII grade students of SMP N 5 Karanganyar experiencing misconceptions about factorization of the tribe in algebra. The subject of this research were VIII grade students of SMP N 5 Karanganyar. The criteria to choose the main subject of the research were that the students had learnt a topic about factorization of the tribe in algebra and the main subject were taken based on test results by using CRI technique and the teacher’s recomendation. The data in this research were in the form of the students’ written answer results in finishing the problem solving test. The result of those written answers became the first data analysis of the researcher. Those first data analysis were in the form of description about misconceptions experienced by the subject and the levels of the subject’s response based on SOLO taxonomy in each problem. Those first data analysis were also used as a guide to do interviews. The interviews were both to clarify the subject’s written answers and to strengthen the data finding of the first data analysis. Then the results of the subject’s written answers and the results of the data analysis from the interview were drew  conclusions. The triangulation technique was used as the validity of the data in the planning of the learning process by using problem solving test which was later clarified by the interview. The results of this research are follows. 1) The misconceptions experienced by the subject: the misconception in the use of the equal sign symbol (=), the subject were mistaken in interpreting the instruction order from left to right and the equals sign symbol (=) was wrongly interpreted as implication (⇒) to show the name which represented value and calculation with different results; the misconception of the substraction in algebra, it was a procedural misconception in the use of distributive rules by neglecting the minus sign; the misconception of the multiplication in algebra, it was a procedural misconception in the use of distributive rules by doing multiplication only in the first set when working with multiplication formula in algebra. 2) The levels of the subject’s response experiencing misconceptions were on the levels of multi-structural, uni-structural and pre-structural level.Keywords: Misconception, response level, SOLO taxonomy

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di sekolah yang bernaung dalam Yayasan Raudhatul Jannah Ciawi, Bogor. Sekolah tersebut mulai dari jenjang TK sampai SMP.  Program ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberikan penyuluhan sekaligus pelatihan perencanaan pembelajaran yang baik melalui implementasi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dengan pemilihan pendekatan yang tepat berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan abdimas ini adalah memberikan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya mempersiapkan pembelajaran matematika dengan perencanaan yang baik, memberikan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana cara penyusunan rancangan pembelajaran dengan pemilihan pendekatan yang tepat, dalam hal ini implementasi CTL dan memberikan keterampilan kepada guru-guru tentang penyusunan rancangan pembelajaran sekaligus melakukan simulasi. Dalam jangka panjangnya, abdimas ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam implementasi kurikulum 2013. Guru lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam merancang suatu pembeljaran, khususnya pembelajaran matematika. Guru mampu mensiasati keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang didistribusikan pemerintah dengan perencanaan pembelajaran yang mengaitkan pembentukan konsep pengetahuan dengan kondisi keseharian siswa (implementasi pendekatan CTL). Luaran yang dihasilkan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah kemampuan guru dalam melakukan perencanaan yang baik dalam setiap pembelajaran yang tercermin dari Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dengan pemilihan pendekatan yang tepat sesuai Kurikulum 2013

Abstract

Sejalan dengan pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya sebagai alternatif cara dari kurang optimal dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui eksplorasi etnomatematika pada batik Jakarta yang dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Perkampungan Budaya Betawi dan di Workshop Galeri Gandaria. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pendekatan etnografi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini disajikan dalam bentuk kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan kontribusi aspek matematika, sejarah, dan filosofi dalam pembuatan Batik Jakarta. Gambar motif batik menggambarkan sebuah bangun datar seperti persegi, lingkaran, segitiga, belah ketupat, jajar genjang, trapesium, setengah lingkaran, elips, segi lima beraturan, balok, dan tabung yang merupakan aspek-aspek matematika pada materi geometri. Proses pembuatan Batik Jakarta juga terdapat geometri transformasi seperti simetri, refleksi, dilatasi, dan rotasi. Hasil penelitian ini berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dan diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan ajar pada jenjang sekolah dasar dan sekolah menengah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence emotional intelligence had on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade VII A and VII B students at MTs Fisabilillah School. The instrument in this study used an essay test of five questions and an emotional intelligence questionnaire of 40 statements. Based on the data that has been obtained from the calculation of the effect of emotional intelligence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of MTs Fisabilillah School students, the researchers can conclude several things including, there is a significant influence on the influence of emotional intelligence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of MTs Fisabilillah School students of 0.8359 or 69,87%. The rest is influenced by other factors, such as students' thinking ability, and other aspects not examined by this study. This is also reinforced by the results of hypothesis testing which shows that thitung > ttabel is thitung 11.1778 > ttabel= 2.00488 which states that there is a significant influence between emotional intelligence and the ability to understand mathematical concepts.
