Abstract

Internal and external factors generally influence athlete achievement. The internal factor that mainly influences the athlete's achievement is motivation. Meanwhile, the external factors are parental support and training attained. The research intended to examine the influence of parental support and training on young athletes' performance in Tanjungpinang. A survey research design was carried out using a questionnaire for data collection. Using purposive sampling, the sample calculation results, with an acceptable margin of error of 0.05, showed 194 confirmed samples from various individual and team sports, ages ranging from 8 to 23. The instrument used for data analysis was SmartPLS (Partial Least Squares) software to confirm theories and forecast relationships between variables. The questionnaire was distributed using Google Forms and shared via WhatsApp. This result indicated that parental support directly and mediated by motivation is ineffective in improving athlete performance, while training has a positive and significant influence both directly and through motivation. This research is limited in scope and is only conducted in Tanjungpinang, with a narrow scope of the research and limitations in the variables studied. The study results provide insight for athletes and coaches. The inclusion of parental involvement in the context of sports performance and suitable training concepts will significantly improve athlete performance. This study simultaneously discusses parental support and training and the mediation of motivation to improve athlete performance.

Abstract

Contemporary architecture emerged as a response to changing times that demand innovation in architectural form and concept. This shift is driven by architects’ dissatisfaction with rigid conventional architectural theories. Dynamic design adaptations—such as the use of curved exterior lines, unique asymmetrical room shapes, aesthetically placed large windows, the application of neutral and bold colors, and unconventional materials like glass and metal—characterize contemporary architecture. Additionally, buildings often feature open roofs that apply environmentally friendly principles while providing protection from sunlight. To ensure that Islamic buildings remain relevant and modern in line with current developments, this study employed methods including literature review, analysis of contemporary design, and the application of aesthetic principles along with environmentally sustainable functions in the design process. The results demonstrate that the Islamic Studies Centre can achieve modern, aesthetic, and functional buildings through a contemporary architectural approach without compromising Islamic values while also supporting sustainability and user comfort.

Abstract

This study explores the application of Neo-Vernacular architecture principles in the design of the Floating Resort at Pantai Liang, Central Maluku Regency. The resort integrates traditional Maluku elements with modern technology to create a sustainable, comfortable, and culturally harmonious tourist environment. The design emphasizes using local materials, stilthouse structures, and triangular roofs inspired by traditional Baileo houses. Modern technologies, such as energy-efficient glass and advanced insulation systems, ensure guest comfort without compromising cultural values and environmental sustainability. The results indicate that Neo-Vernacular architecture enhances the tourist experience, contributes to cultural preservation, and supports environmental sustainability. The study also provides recommendations for further development, including incorporating more local cultural elements, renewable energy systems, cultural education facilities, and further research on the long-term impacts of this architectural approach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation on the growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) as a solution to fertilizer shortages in Indonesia. The continuous use of inorganic fertilizers can degrade soil quality, making environmentally friendly alternatives, such as biofertilizers, necessary. The study observed the growth optimization of several corn varieties inoculated with AMF. The eight-month study was conducted in the Biology Laboratory at Cenderawasih University's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences using a pot culture method with three varieties of maize: regular maize (RM), sweet corn (SC), and butter sweet corn (BSC). Parameters observed included plant height, leaf number, and relative growth rate based on dry weight. The results showed that AMF inoculation significantly increased corn plant height by 21.56%, leaf number by 18.14%, and the relative growth rate by 1,425% at six weeks after planting. Butter sweet corn and sweet corn responded better to AMF inoculation than regular corn. The best results occurred when butter sweet corn was given 15 g of AMF inoculum per polybag.

Abstract

Stunting in children is influenced not only by food availability but also by various factors such as family caregiving practices, which in many cases remain suboptimal. There are still families who have not practiced optimal parenting patterns. This study aims to determine family parenting behavior and analyze factors that can support increased efforts to prevent stunting in toddlers. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, the population was all families with toddlers in South Sulawesi Province and 260 families as samples. The data were processed and analyzed through three stages: univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of the variables, bivariate analysis using the Chi-square statistical test (with Yates’ correction) to see the relationship between variables, and multivariate analysis using a binary logistic regression model. The study's results showed a positive relationship between parenting behavior and parenting knowledge, environmental sanitation knowledge, nutritional knowledge, parenting attitudes, parenting motivation, family planning, and culture  (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the variables of environmental health knowledge and environmental sanitation attitudes did not show a significant relationship (p>0.05). The main strategies for interventions to improve family parenting behavior in efforts to prevent stunting are culture (B=2.492;p=0.000), environmental sanitation knowledge (B=1.936;p=0.000), family planning (B=1.429;p=0.030), and parenting attitudes (B=1.003;p=0.000). Recommendations include involving local stakeholders, including community leaders, religious leaders, and regional organizations in supporting family parenting efforts in controlling stunting through increasing environmental sanitation knowledge, family planning, and positive parenting attitudes based on local wisdom.
