Abstract

Economic growth is an important indicator to assess the economic condition of a country. Various factors greatly influence economic growth, and one of the important factors is the country's political stability. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting OIC countries' economic growth. These factors are foreign direct investment, trade openness, human capital, tourism, and political stability. This study uses panel data from 28 OIC countries during the 2006-2020-time span. This study estimates the model using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) analysis technique. The estimation results show that all independent variables have a significant positive effect on the economic growth of OIC countries except foreign direct investment, which produces a negative effect. The interaction between political stability and other variables also produces a significant effect. The interaction effect can strengthen the influence of human capital and tourism on economic growth. The resulting interaction effect between political stability with FDI and trade openness weakens its influence on economic growth. Thus, the high political stability needed to increase economic growth in OIC countries depends on its interaction with other factors in economic growth

Abstract

In the last 40 years, the continuous strengthening of the greenhouse effect has led to a significant increase in global average temperatures. Although people's understanding of climate change has improved, the world has not witnessed a significant reduction in pollutant emissions therefore, it is crucial to find the root cause. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of trade openness, foreign direct investment, gross domestic product, human capital, industry, financial development on carbon emissions (CO2) in G20 countries during the period 2000-2019. Data analysis was carried out using the Generalized Least Square (GLS) Method model and data processing using the STATA application version 17.0. The results showed that trade openness, gross domestic product, human capital, and industry have a significant effect on carbon emissions (CO2) while foreign direct investment does not have a significant effect. In addition, the Financial Development variable is able to moderate the effect of trade openness, gross domestic product, human capital, industry on carbon emissions (CO2) but on the other hand cannot moderate foreign direct investment. The study's findings contribute to knowledge by providing new evidence on the relationship between financial development metrics and the environment. These findings are crucial for policymakers and relevant authorities to focus on economic development without jeopardizing environmental damage.

Abstract

In many Muslim countries, there are dynamics in political stability and security issue. This study examines the relationship between political stability and human development in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries. The political stability variable comes from the governance index published by the World Governance Indicator (WGI), which measures political stability, absence of violence, and terrorism. Secondary data on the Human Development Index (HDI) variable comes from the World Bank. This study analyzes 50 OIC member countries for 2003-2021 by employing the Granger causality method for panel data. The results show a bidirectional causality between the political stability index and the human development index in all OIC member countries. However, in countries with a very high HDI, the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional. In contrast, in the group of countries with a high and low HDI, the two variables have no connection.

Abstract

The study examines factors that influence the Indonesian Human Development Index using the Maqashid Sharia approach. This study's sample is made up of several provinces with the Human Development Index for different categories of people. Data analysis employs a panel data regression model with a fixed effect model. The study's findings indicate that whereas variables Hifzu al-din, Hifzu al-aql, and Hifzu al-mal have a significant impact on the Index of Human Development, variables Hifzu al-nafs and Hifzu al-nasl have no significant impact on the Index of Human Development. Simultaneously, the variables Hifzu al-din, Hifzu al-nafs, Hifzu al-aql, Hifzu al-nasl, and Hifzu al-mal exhibit significant effects on the Human Development Index. Results of the determination test show that 98% of independent variables can influence dependent variables, with the remaining 2% being affected by variables not examined in this study. The study's findings recommended to the government that they support Hifzu Al-din in reducing crime rates, Hifzu Al-Aql by increasing the average length of schooling, and Hifzu Al-Mal in raising per capita income. By paying more attention to these issues, human development will eventually reach its full potential.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - This study refines Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as a strategic approach for the digital era. It proposes Customer Data Protection (CDP) as a crucial new dimension for a more holistic CRM framework. This revised framework addresses inconsistencies in past CRM definitions, which have contributed to implementation failures across industries. The urgency for this refinement is further emphasized by Indonesia's weak data security landscape. Employing a quantitative survey methodology, the study gathers data from 412 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) is then utilized to analyze each CRM dimension within the collected data. The empirical findings establish five significant dimensions of CRM, forming a strategic framework referred to as the "5C CRM." This framework encompasses processes for cultivating positive stakeholder relationships, preserving company value, and ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction. From an Islamic perspective, data protection aligns with the Maqāṣid Sharia principle of hifdz al-nafs (protecting life). By securing customer data, companies safeguard customers from potential dangers associated with cybercrime and unauthorized access. This aligns with the Quranic verse An-Nur:27, which emphasizes seeking permission before entry. This verse signifies the company's responsibility to secure and protect customer data from unauthorized access. Ultimately, businesses that actively safeguard personal information are more likely to cultivate customer satisfaction and loyalty. The findings suggest that prioritizing data security not only aligns with Islamic principles but also fosters stronger customer relationships.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK - Redefinisi CRM untuk Era Digital: Peran Perlindungan Data Konsumen dalam Perspektif Islam.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the development of the budget deficit and current account deficit in Indonesia in the era of President SBY and President Jokowi and to compare between the two eras. This study also analyzes the relationship of twin deficits to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the interest rate (r). The analytical tool used was independent t-test (for comparison) and Vector Auto-Regressive (VAR). The data used comes from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), 2004:Q1-2018: Q3. The result showed that the budget deficit was the same in the two eras of government, but the trade balance deficit in the era of President Jokowi was far higher than before. The budget deficit has a significant effect on the trade balance deficit but does not apply otherwise (no causality). Variable gross domestic product and interest rates significantly influence both types of deficits.
