Abstract

Investigating women’s participation in politics might be beneficial for the improvements of communication studies, especially in political communication studies. This research’s objective is to analyze the involvement of a group of women in a religious Islamic movement in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This research applied a descriptive qualitative research design by conducting semi- structured interviews to ten women from two political women groups in East Kalimantan. The results of the research suggest that the informants posit their acceptance to a particular male and female legislative candidates due to these candidates’ stances in religious beliefs and the candidates’ credibilities. The results suggest that these informants have a strong awareness to actively participate in politics, suggesting that women are aware of the importance of politics in their daily life.

Abstract

Da'wa is one form of spreading religion in Islam. At present, the da’wa movement is not only dominated by the 30-50 years age group but also mostly carried out by the younger generation. In practice, da’wa activities are often dominated by male preachers. On the other hand, the phenomenon of da’wa shows that the target of da'wa (mad'u) is dominated by female. Therefore, recently many female preachers began to emerge in the community. This paper aims at looking at gender mainstreaming in da'wa by answering the following questions (1) how is Da’wa movement among young people in Samarinda (2) how is the role of female preachers in spreading Islamic teachings in the community in Samarinda. This paper uses three data collection methods, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative descriptive data analysis is used to see the phenomenon of women in a comprehensive manner in the city of Samarinda.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren (traditional Islamic boarding school) is one of Indonesia's most crucial pillars supporting educational needs. As the foremost institution upholding Islamic traditions in the archipelago, pesantren is expected to remain relevant amidst the advancements of the era without forsaking its deeply rooted values and traditions. Thus, this article aims to highlight the issue of technology utilization by pondok pesantren by describing the general landscape of digital media usage in several pesantren located in the Samarinda Seberang region, as well as analyzing the perceptions of pesantren administrators regarding the utilization of digital media as a means of information dissemination and as a tool to improve the overall management of pondok pesantren institution. To undertake this research, a phenomenological approach is employed to analyze data collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation in six pondok pesantren in the Samarinda Seberang area. The findings reveal that the pondok pesantren in Samarinda Seberang are already familiar with the application of digital technology. However, this utilization remains limited to media based on images and videos. The incorporation of text-based technology is still restricted due to the lack of resources available to the pesantren.

Abstract

Pusat Pembelajaran Keluarga (PUSPAGA) Cinta Syejati Samarinda merupakan lembaga yang berfokus menangani permasalahan keluarga. Berbagai bentuk layanan diberikan oleh PUSPAGA sebagai upaya untuk membantu klien, salah satunya adalah layanan konseling keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi layanan konseling keluarga yang diberikan oleh PUSPAGA Cinta Syejati Samarinda sebagai upaya dalam membantu menyelesaikan berbagai bentuk permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh keluarga dan menganalisis faktor pendukung serta penghambat pada layanan tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari pengarah, ketua, psikolog, klien, dan staff PUSPAGA Cinta Syejati Samarinda. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Miles dan Huberman. Adapun terkait dengan pengecekan keabsahan data, teknik yang digunakan adalah perpanjangan keikutsertaan, ketekunan pengamat, dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi layanan konseling keluarga di PUSPAGA Cinta Syejati Samarinda dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dari psikolog, klien, hingga peran keluarga yang ikut serta dalam membantu pelaksanaan konseling keluarga, serta dilakukan mulai dari tahap awal, tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi sampai tahap tindak lanjut. Faktor pendukung implementasi konseling keluarga yaitu adanya dukungan kekuatan hukum dan pemerintah setempat, adanya gedung sebagai tempat untuk konsultasi atau konseling, dan lain-lain. Implementasi layanan konseling keluarga juga memiliki beberapa hambatan yaitu kurangnya informasi mengenai kegiatan dan layanan konseling keluarga, kurangnya tenaga konselor, dan lain-lain.

Abstract

Disabilitas tunagrahita merujuk pada sebuah kondisi dimana individu memiliki kemampuan intelektual di bawah rata-rata. Anak dengan disabilitas tunagrahita memiliki hambatan terkait perkembangan mental dan intelektual yang berdampak pada perkembangan kognitif dan perilaku adaptif. Penyandang disabilitas tunagrahita memerlukan perlakuan yang khusus agar kemampuannya bisa berkembang secara maksimal, sehingga dalam hal ini diperlukan peran orang tua dalam membentuk kemandirian anak tunagrahita pada berbagai konteks yaitu rumah, sekolah dan lingkungan sosial anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi orang tua dalam meningkatkan kemandirian anak tunagrahita di SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 orang tua dengan kriteria memiliki anak tunagrahita yang bersekolah di SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa observasi dan wawancara, serta instrumen yang digunakan adalah pedoman observasi pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data Miles dan Huberman yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mencakup pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua dengan anak tunagrahita di SLB Untung Tuah Samarinda menggunakan strategi tanpa paksaan serta melatih anak secara bertahap, perlahan, sabar dan menyerahkan semuanya kepada Tuhan. Orang tua juga bekerja sama dengan guru saat di sekolah serta mendapatkan bantuan dari keluarga untuk meningkatkan kemandirian anak di lingkungan rumah dan sosial. Faktor pendukung bagi orang tua yaitu keluarga, sementara faktor penghambat orang tua mencakup perundungan terhadap anak, penyakit lain yang diderita anak, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Delivering greetings and prayers to the Prophet Muhammad is a form of worship that is highly recommended in Islam. Allah SWT and His angels also sent greetings and prayers to the Prophet Muhammad, although with different intentions and ways. To expand the spread of greetings and prayers to the Prophet Muhammad, many methods of da'wah are used, such as holding prayer assemblies, lectures, and using social media as a means of da'wah. One method of da'wah through social media is through YouTube channels. One of the YouTube channels that promotes greetings and prayers to the Prophet Muhammad is Gus Aldi's YouTube channel. This YouTube channel conveys greetings and prayers in an entertaining style. The da'wah approach through humor aims to make the da'wah of greetings and prayers not boring, because it is delivered with a touch of jokes. However, it is important to remember that in Islamic teachings, not all types of jokes are allowed. . In examining the phenomenon of da'wah with the prank shalawat method on Gus Aldi's YouTube channel, the author can explain more deeply about this. The methods applied in this research are: 1) Descriptive qualitative research; 2) Type of virtual ethnography research; 3) The object of research used is Gus Aldi's YouTube channel; 4) The data source taken is the shalawat prank on Gus Aldi's channel; 5) Observation and documentation data collection tools; and 6) Data analysis using content analysis. The results of this study are as follows: Prank shalawat on Gus Aldi's YouTube channel can be considered as one of the da'wah methods used to spread salawat to the Prophet Muhammad. In this context, prank shalawat is used as a means to invite and remind YouTube channel viewers about the importance of sending shalawat to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the role of Datu Tunggang Parangan in the spread of Islam in Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The research uses historical and literature-based methods, with Habib Hasyim bin Musyaiyakh (Datu Tunggang Parangan) as the main subject, and the cemetery caretakers, religious leaders, and community figures as supporting subjects. Primary data were obtained through interviews, while secondary data were gathered from literature sources. The data analysis technique employed is the Miles and Huberman model. The findings of this study reveal that Datu Tunggang Parangan played a significant role in spreading Islam in Kutai Kartanegara by converting King Aji Mahkota along with his family and royal officials to Islam. He then guided and taught Islamic values within the royal court. This process led to many changes in regulations that incorporated Islamic elements and influenced the adaptation of local culture—such as the traditional Erau ceremony, which originally had Hindu characteristics, to become more Islamic in nature. Datu Tunggang Parangan’s close relationship with the royal family was a strategic key in expanding Islamic preaching throughout the Kutai Kartanegara kingdom and played a major role in the broader acceptance of Islam among the local community.

Abstract

This article discusses the strategic role of public relations in building a positive image of Islamic-based elementary schools, using a case study of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda. The study aims to identify the communication strategies implemented by the school's public relations team to strengthen public trust and examine their impact on institutional reputation and competitiveness. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed to collect data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that a positive school image is shaped through consistent educational services, open communication, and active participation in community-based activities. Public relations serves as a vital bridge between the school and the public, utilizing digital media, particularly social media, as an effective communication tool. A strong institutional image has been shown to enhance parental trust, community loyalty, and interest in student enrollment. These findings highlight the importance of integrating digital communication strategies into the management of public relations at the elementary education level. Theoretically, this article contributes to the literature on institutional communication management in Islamic educational settings and proposes a value-based and adaptive model of public relations practice in the digital era.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui isi pesan dakwah self-healing dalam channel YouTube Ustadzah Halimah Alaydrus. Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat saat ini membuat proses penyebaran dakwah Islam juga ikut mengalami perkembangan yang cukup signifikan. Hal ini juga berdampak besar pada kesehatan mental masyarakat yang disuarakan sebagai akibat dari perubahan gaya hidup dan lingkungan sosial. Gaya hidup ini dinamakan gaya hidup digital. Ustadzah Halimah Alaydrus merupakan salah satu Da’i yang memanfaatkan adanya perkembangan teknologi saat ini sebagai media dakwah, salah satunya ialah YouTube. Salah satu tema yang diangkat dalam video dakwahnya ialah terkait self-healing. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan (Field Research) yang bersifat kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode analisis isi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini: Pertama, dalam video-video tersebut, terdapat pesan self-healing yang terbagi menjadi tujuh tahapan. Kedua, pesan dakwah yang disampaikan terbagi menjadi tiga, yakni aqidah, syariah, dan akhlak.

Abstract

Learning Arabic for writing skills is a skill at the highest level in language proficiency, even writing skills in Arabic must start to knowing the correct writing conventions especially in Arabic writing, because it will affect the order of meaning if the writing is not in accordance with the proper Arabic language rules, and the Arabic language rules are known as imla learning material. This research aims to find out the ability of writing in the subject of Imla’ and the influence  of the use of multimedia in Imla’ learning to improve the writing ability of the fifth semester students of Arabic Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of State Islamic Institute of Samarinda in the year of 2017-2018. And than the research uses a quantitative approach and the research method is an experiment with the ability test design of pre- test and post-test. The control class consisted of 25 students and the experimental class consisted of 25 students. The data analysis technique from both groups, the researcher used statistical calculation with the significant level  and used statistical formula of test T-test with the result of thit > ttab = 6،81 > 1،645. The results of research on the use multimedia in Arabic learning the material of Imla’ to improve the writing ability to have an impact effective, until can help the teacher and the learner to easily understand the rule of Arabic writing correctly as the rule of the Arabic writing.
