Abstract

International migration, particularly involving Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) in Australia, has become significant, with nearly 100,000 TKI recorded in 2022. This study investigates the factors influencing their migration decision, focusing on working conditions, work flexibility, and compensation. A total of 149 respondents of Indonesian migrant workers in Australia completed the questionnaires, collected using non-probability and snowball sampling techniques. It was analysed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3 software. The outcome reveals that working conditions positively affect performance, confirming that a supportive work environment enhances productivity. In contrast, work flexibility negatively impacts performance, while compensation shows a positive but statistically insignificant effect. Job satisfaction emerges as a critical mediator, with satisfied employees performing better. The findings suggest companies should improve working conditions and compensation systems to enhance job satisfaction and performance. Additionally, the study provides insights for the Indonesian Government on the importance of labour policies that promote worker welfare, such as fair wages and improved conditions, potentially reducing reliance on international migration. Future studies should incorporate a wider array of variables and a more diverse group of respondents to enhance generalizability.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of Sensory Marketing and Audio Branding on purchase intention among consumers of Diantara Kopi, a popular coffee shop in Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat. Sensory Marketing, which engages multiple consumer senses, plays a crucial role in shaping perceptions and purchasing behavior, while Audio Branding leverages sound to create a distinct brand identity. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through surveys from 236 Diantara Kopi customers and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results highlight the importance of sensory-driven branding strategies, demonstrating that a well-crafted sensory and audio experience can significantly boost consumer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits. The study provides valuable insights for businesses fostering customer loyalty through effective sensory and audio branding techniques.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of algorithmic management in Digital HRM on employee well-being and job embeddedness, as well as to examine the moderating role of perceived organizational justice. This research employed an explanatory quantitative approach involving 100 employees in Malang City who worked in organizations that had implemented Digital HRM and experienced algorithmic management practices. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through SEM-PLS using SmartPLS. The findings reveal that algorithmic management has a negative and significant effect on employee well-being and job embeddedness, while perceived organizational justice positively affects both variables. Furthermore, perceived organizational justice moderates the relationship between algorithmic management and employee well-being and job embeddedness, indicating that fairness perceptions can reduce the negative consequences of algorithm-based management systems. The implication of this study emphasizes that organizations need to develop transparent, fair, accountable, and human-centered Digital HRM governance so that technological efficiency remains aligned with employee well-being, trust, and organizational attachment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the paradoxical relationship between work flexibility, work-life balance, work motivation, and the performance of remote workers in Pontianak, a representative tier-2 city. Drawing on the Self-Determination Theory framework, this study posits work motivation as a mediator that transforms flexibility and work-life balance into actual performance. The method used is quantitative, employing the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The sample consisted of 102 digital creative workers in Pontianak City who had been working remotely for at least six months. The test results revealed that work flexibility has a significant negative effect on work-life balance due to the phenomenon of boundary blurring. Regarding direct effects, work flexibility and work-life balance were found to have no significant effect on performance. However, work flexibility and work-life balance have a significant positive effect on work motivation. Furthermore, work motivation has a significant effect on performance. Mediation analysis confirmed that work motivation acts as a full mediator in the relationship between work flexibility and work-life balance on performance. These findings underscore that without strong intrinsic motivation, providing work flexibility and work-life balance is insufficient to improve the performance of remote workers in the gig economy ecosystem, particularly in developing cities in Indonesia.
