Abstract

This study aimed to analyze: (1) pre-service teachers' perceptions of the urgency of the IEP, (2) their readiness (cognitive, affective, and skills) to design and implement it, and (3) the influence of internal and external factors on this readiness. A quantitative approach using descriptive and correlational survey methods was employed. The research subjects were 38 seventh-semester prospective teachers at universities in East Java, Indonesia. The universities were Jember Islamic University, State Islamic University (UIN Kyai Haji Ahmad Shiddiq), and Nurul Jadid University, which were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a valid and reliable Likert scale questionnaire. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. Descriptive analysis revealed that 64.5% of participants had positive readiness and perceptions. While perception of IEP urgency was high (73.7% positive), external factors like institutional support showed the lowest positive percentage (57.9%). Multiple Linear Regression indicated that internal and external factors together significantly influenced readiness (R²=0.794), with internal factors (β=0.512) being more dominant than external ones (β=0.387). The novelty of this finding underscores that while personal competence development is foundational, systemic support from teacher education institutions is equally critical for successful IEP implementation, highlighting a necessary dual focus in teacher preparation programs.

Abstract

Introduction: Economic globalization has strengthened foreign investment flows in developing countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam. However, investment policy orientations that overemphasize economic efficiency often ignore social justice for local communities. This inequality raises the need to revisit the legal framework that governs the relationship between foreign investors and the recipient community. Customary law is seen as a source of values and moral principles that can strengthen social legitimacy in the practice of foreign direct investment (FDI).Purposes of the Research:  This study aims to analyze how customary law can play a role in restoring social justice through the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and performance requirements in foreign investment, by comparing the legal frameworks of Indonesia and Vietnam, this study seeks to find a model of customary law integration that is able to balance economic interests with the social and cultural values of local communities. Methods of the Research: This study uses a normative-comparative legal approach by analyzing laws and regulations, policy documents, and CSR implementation practices in Indonesia and Vietnam. Data was collected through literature studies and content analysis of various primary and secondary legal sources. A comparative approach is used to identify similarities and differences in the application of customary law as the basis for foreign investment policies in both countries. Results of the Research: The results of the study show that Indonesia has adopted customary law principles, such as mutual cooperation and social justice, within the legal framework of CSR and investment performance requirements. In contrast, Vietnam still emphasizes socialist state policies without explicit recognition of local customary law values. The integration of customary law has been proven to strengthen the social legitimacy and sustainability of investments, as it fosters corporate social responsibility that is in line with community values and promotes more equitable and inclusive development.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed educational paradigms, including Qur’an memorization, which traditionally relied on oral, repetitive methods. This study explores the integration of the blended-learning, flipped-classroom model as an innovative approach to enhance Qur’an memorization in the digital era. The purpose of this research is to examine how the model influences students’ motivation, engagement, and memorization effectiveness while maintaining the spiritual and pedagogical values of Islamic education. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, surveys, classroom observations, and document analysis involving 120 students, 10 teachers, and the school leadership of SMP Al-Furqon Kota Baru Driyorejo. The findings reveal that students’ motivation scores increased from 2.8 to 4.1 on a five-point Likert scale, and the average memorization rate improved from 5.3 to 8.7 verses per week after the model’s implementation. Additionally, students demonstrated greater self-regulation and active participation, while teachers reported more efficient classroom interaction and feedback. Despite challenges such as limited digital literacy and infrastructure, these were mitigated through targeted training and institutional support. The study implies that integrating digital pedagogy within Qur’an memorization not only enhances cognitive and motivational outcomes but also offers a transformative framework for modern Islamic education, aligning traditional spirituality with technological advancement.

Abstract

The schism within the Islamic community reached its zenith following the Battle of Ṣiffīn, when the process of Taḥkīm, intended to alleviate the conflict between Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, instead incited theological divisions. This research focuses on how Taḥkīm transformed the dispute from practical politics into doctrinal debate, giving rise to various sectarian movements. This study aims to critically and historically examine the role of Taḥkīm in the emergence of sects such as the Khawārij, Shīʿah, Murjiʾah, and other theological factions. The methodology employed is a literature review, analysing classical documents and contemporary academic literature that discuss the socio-political context, the arbitration process, and the responses of various groups following Taḥkīm. The findings indicate that this arbitration not only resolved military disputes but also served as a catalyst for the formation of a fragmented Islamic intellectual structure. The implications of this study underscore the importance of re-reading the history of internal Islamic conflict in an objective and inclusive manner, enabling the community to learn from past experiences, maintain unity, and avoid the politicisation of religion that could undermine brotherhood.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAIBP) on the topic of Obligatory and Impossible Attributes of the Prophets at SDN 9 Curah Tatal Arjasa Situbondo. Observations revealed that many students had not achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria, and learning activities tended to be passive and teacher-centered. This research aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes through the Make a match method. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation and tests, and data validity was ensured using source and technique triangulation. The results showed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes: 51.5% in the pre-cycle, 66.7% in Cycle I, and 87.8% in Cycle II. Thus, the Make a match method can significantly improve learning outcomes in PAIBP on the topic of Obligatory and Impossible Attributes of the Prophets for third-grade students at SDN 9 Curah Tatal Arjasa Situbondo.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of madrasah principals’ leadership and committee roles on teacher performance and their impact on student achievement in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) across Tabanan Regency, Bali Province. Employing a quantitative approach with an explanatory causal design, data were collected from 49 respondents selected through purposive sampling, including principals, teachers, and committee members with a minimum of two years of experience. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that all constructs meet validity and reliability criteria, with strong measurement and structural model performance (R² = 0.713 for teacher performance and 0.857 for student achievement; Q² = 0.9589). The findings reveal that principal leadership and committee roles have positive and significant effects on both teacher performance and student achievement. Among these, the committee role demonstrates the strongest influence, particularly in enhancing teacher performance. Teacher performance also significantly affects student achievement, confirming its role as a key mediating variable. Mediation analysis shows that teacher performance partially mediates the relationship between committee roles and student achievement, while it does not significantly mediate the effect of principal leadership. These findings highlight the importance of collaborative leadership and stakeholder involvement in improving educational outcomes. Practically, the study suggests that strengthening institutional leadership and community participation can effectively enhance teacher performance and student achievement in Islamic secondary education.
