Abstract

This research discusses development problems in the creative industry sector related to the collaboration of two different materials, namely corncob material and cloth material with batik motifs. Indonesia is rich in culture with a variety of traditional wastra or cloth, including batik cloth, woven cloth, songket cloth, and so on. Traditional batik motifs as a characteristic of Indonesian literature are very diverse and have been recognized for their beauty. A mix method was used, namely a qualitative descriptive method and an exploration of the collaboration of two different materials, namely cloth material and corncob material to become home decor products. It is hoped that with the collaborative development of this material into a more modern design work it will be able to give a new feel to a room. The aim of this research is to combine a traditional work, namely batik wastra, into a modern home décor product so that the resulting work is novel in keeping up with the times and market developments, but on the other hand, the nuances of Indonesian tradition are not lost.

Abstract

Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang are located on Jl. Gelong Baru No. 8, Tomang Village, Grogol Petamburan District, West Jakarta, is inhabited by 10 children aged 3-12 years. Currently, no special environmental awareness or art activities are carried out by the children at Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang. Even though they are interested in the environment and have free time to carry out various activities after formal school ends, one of which is drawing. For this reason, drawing training activities are carried out to increase awareness of the environment through Community Service activities by the Faculty of Art and Design,  Universitas Trisakti. This activity aims to help the children Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang foster. The activity targets are gaining knowledge about the environment, developing drawing skills, and developing creativity. The training was carried out using the participatory action research (PAR) method to obtain primary information from the target audience and to participate actively in implementing the training. The training results are children's drawings on environmental themes with various creative objects and interactions with the surrounding environment as a reflection of the environmental concerns of the children assisted by Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang. The training activities were carried out well according to the objectives of the training activities.

Abstract

The Phenomenon of Interior Design Changes in the Reading Area of the Jakarta Cikini Public Library. Public libraries are experiencing functional changes due to societal needs and technological advancements. The Jakarta Cikini Regional Public Library, newly reopened in 2022 after revitalization, reflects this transformation. This research aims to observe changes in visitor activities and their impact on reading room facilities, comparing conditions before and after the implementation of creative activity concepts. The study provides an in-depth understanding of how interior library design evolves due to creative activities and adequate digital facilities. The method used is qualitative with a Historical-design Research approach, supported by the Theory of Change Phenomenon and Design Triangulation to determine the position of changes. The most significant change factor is the integration of digital technology, allowing visitors more flexibility to read or borrow books while relaxing or discussing.

Abstract

Desa Cibunarjaya, Kecamatan Ciambar, Sukabumi, memiliki banyak pelaku usaha mikro yang menjalankan bisnis rumahan seperti pembuatan kripik singkong, kripik pisang, dan kerajinan batu hias. Namun, pemasaran produk-produk tersebut masih terbatas pada lingkup lokal, dengan sistem titip jual di warung sekitar. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, dilaksanakan pelatihan pemasaran digital dengan menggunakan media sosial Instagram. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mengadopsi pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang terdiri atas tiga tahap utama: partisipasi, aksi, dan riset. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah mengenalkan strategi pemasaran digital kepada pelaku usaha mikro serta meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam memanfaatkan platform media sosial sebagai sarana promosi. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner yang disebarkan ke peserta, dapat disimpulkan bahwa skor kepuasan terhadap pelatihan rata-rata 3,6 dari skala 5 yang artinya cukup puas dengan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan. Namun pemahaman terhadap pelatihan sangat rendah yaitu 2,4 dari skala 5 dari kuesioner post test. Hal ini menandakan perlunya pendampingan lanjutan yang lebih teknis untuk membantu peserta menguasai pembuatan konten yang menarik. Pelatihan ini menjadi langkah awal yang signifikan dalam upaya meningkatkan daya saing usaha mikro di desa melalui pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan media sosial. Dengan strategi digital marketing yang tepat dan konten yang relevan, pelaku usaha mikro diharapkan dapat memperluas pasar, meningkatkan pendapatan, dan berkontribusi pada pembangunan ekonomi desa yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

Designing Visual Work In The Context Of Implementing Graffiti Art On Corncob Products “Matahati”. The rapid development of graffiti art in Indonesia has expanded its application to various media and products. This study aims to design visual works by implementing graffiti art on corncob-based products developed by Matahati. The research focuses on how graffiti art enhances the visual appeal of products targeted at young audiences and children, creating new market segments and increasing sales. A qualitative approach was employed, with the design process consisting of five stages: orientation, analysis, concept, design, and implementation. Data validation was conducted through triangulation using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results demonstrate that applying graffiti art to Matahati corncob products successfully introduced visual innovation, enriching the aesthetic appeal and attracting new market segments. This creative touch not only increases product uniqueness but also boosts sales, particularly among those valuing aesthetics and creativity. The study significantly contributes to the creative industry by integrating agricultural waste into innovative product designs, supporting sustainability while enhancing aesthetic value. Overall, the research highlights opportunities for the creative industry to produce products that are both artistic and sustainable.

Abstract

Abstrak Bangunan Cagar Budaya Sebagai Destinasi Wisata Melalui Pendekatan Revitalisasi Desain. Desain interior berperan penting dalam mendukung pelestarian bangunan cagar budaya di destinasi wisata. Bangunan cagar budaya ini menjadi saksi bisu evolusi sosial, ekonomi, dan politik suatu masyarakat, yang mencerminkan keragaman budaya dan arsitektur suatu tempat. Dalam konteks pariwisata, bangunan bersejarah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai daya tarik utama, tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukasi dan pengalaman bagi pengunjung. Namun, pelestarian bangunan cagar budaya ini seringkali menghadapi tantangan akibat kurangnya dana dan dukungan dari pemerintah maupun masyarakat setempat. Diharapkan pendekatan desain interior ini dapat berkontribusi positif terhadap revitalisasi dan keberlanjutan ekonomi lokal, masyarakat lokal, dan UMKM setempat. Penelitian ini melakukan tinjauan data literatur, survei lapangan, dan analisis data pendukung. Pada tahap perancangan, proses identifikasi masalah, pengembangan desain, pembuatan prototipe, dan pameran desain dilakukan melalui proses kolaboratif dengan pelaku ekonomi kreatif lokal. Temuan penelitian ini adalah perlunya pendekatan terpadu yang menawarkan strategi komprehensif termasuk pameran yang menerapkan konsep bercerita untuk memperkaya pengalaman berkesan saat mengunjungi pameran produk lokal yang diselenggarakan di bangunan cagar budaya tersebut. Kontribusi signifikan dari penelitian ini adalah pemahaman baru tentang pentingnya melestarikan bangunan cagar budaya. Hal ini dapat diwujudkan dengan mengaktifkan bangunan melalui pendekatan revitalisasi desain melalui pameran bercerita yang akan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat lokal dan mendukung pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan di masa mendatang.
