Abstract

Abstract

Kelompok Pengolah dan Pemasar (Poklahsar) Camar Laut has considerable potential in developing fisheries-based enterprises in Suak Indra Puri Village, West Aceh Regency. Previously, shrimp paste production relied solely on rebon shrimp as the primary raw material, which is seasonal in nature and often leads to limited availability. This dependence has constrained the group’s production capacity and hindered business optimization. To address this issue, a community service program was implemented by introducing the utilization of bycatch fish as an alternative raw material for shrimp paste production. The program applied a Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), which involves women's group members actively utilizing existing potential. The outcomes indicate significant improvements in the group’s capacity, particularly in knowledge, technical skills, and the ability to create innovative products based on local resources. The innovations in bycatch-based shrimp paste also provide opportunities for more sustainable business diversification. These efforts are expected to enhance the group’s economic resilience, increase product competitiveness, and contribute to household welfare as well as local economic growth.

Abstract

Abstract

The proliferation of social media platforms has generated an unprecedented volume of viral content, each drawing varied public responses expressed through sentiment and emotion. Mapping those responses — not merely counting them — is what separates surface-level monitoring from a genuine understanding of public perception. This study classified sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) and emotion (anger, joy, sadness, and fear) toward viral content using a fine-tuned Transformer-based model. Data were collected from social media via web scraping, then subjected to standard text preprocessing: case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming. The cleaned dataset was subsequently annotated with sentiment and emotion labels. BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) served as the base architecture, fine-tuned for multi-label classification. Evaluation relied on an 80:20 train-test split, with performance measured through accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Across all sentiment and emotion categories, the model returned consistently high scores and handled ambiguous, context-dependent text more reliably than conventional machine learning baselines. The Transformer-based approach proved well-suited for sentiment and emotion analysis on social media data, with clear potential for deployment in public opinion monitoring systems.

Abstract

This community engagement program was implemented in Lawet Village, West Aceh, a flood-prone rural area severely affected by the November 26, 2025 disaster, which resulted in environmental degradation, limited access to safe water, inadequate sanitation facilities, low adoption of clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS), and the absence of safe educational spaces for children. The program aimed to improve post-disaster community health resilience through an integrated community-based approach combining Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions with the CERIA-PHBS (Cerdas, Edukatif, Interaktif, dan Aman) model. The program was conducted through five stages: socialization, participatory assessment, technology implementation, mentoring and evaluation, and sustainability planning. Key interventions included the installation of a community-based clean water system, provision of ≥10 portable handwashing stations (CTPS), health education for families, and the establishment of a child-friendly educational space. A pre–post descriptive evaluation was used to assess changes in knowledge and behavior. The results showed significant improvements, including increased access to clean water, improved PHBS practices from approximately 25% to ≥70%, enhanced community knowledge, and strengthened capacity of ≥10 health cadres. In addition, more than 60 children participated in CERIA-PHBS activities, with improved hygiene behavior and psychosocial well-being. This integrated model demonstrates effectiveness in accelerating post-flood health recovery and offers a scalable and sustainable approach for disaster-prone rural communities.
