Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with one of the longest volcanic chains in the world, has 127 volcanoes, with approximately 13% of all active volcanoes in the world located here. Mount Merapi is one of the most active, requiring preparedness from the community, including special needs students. SLB Negeri 1 Sleman, located in the Merapi hazard zone, faces challenges in providing effective learning media for disaster mitigation. This study proposes the use of a volcanic eruption replica as an educational tool to enhance disaster mitigation understanding and preparedness for special needs students. Through a series of stages, including planning, socialization, replica creation, implementation, and evaluation, this program successfully increased students' disaster mitigation knowledge from 30% to 85%. The results show that a multisensory approach involving a tactile replica is effective in disaster mitigation learning. The program also enhances teachers' creativity and provides important implications for the development of inclusive education and disaster mitigation policies. This research supports the need for inclusive learning media and continuous evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of disaster mitigation programs in special education schools.

Abstract

Indonesia yang terletak di kawasan ring of fire mengakibatkan banyaknya gunung berapi aktif. Selain itu, Indonesia yang terletak di antara dua samudra yang mengakibatkan rawan terdampak bencana hidrologi. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mengembangankan model pentahelix pemerintah, pembisnis, akademisi, komunitas, media dalam mengatasi banjir di kabupaten Demak. Penelitian ini sejalan dengan rencana strategis UNNES dalam mengembangkan aksi tanggap bencana dan upaya mitigasi, adaptasi dan rehabilitasi bencana banjir di Kabupaten Demak. Selain itu, hal ini juga sejalan dengan tujuan nasional dalam penanggulangan bencana yang tertuang dalam rencana strategis Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana yaitu mempersiapkan dan meningkatkan peran pemerintah, pembisnis, akademisi, komunitas, media dalam kegiatan mitigasi, adaptasi dan rehabilitasi bencana yang terintegrasi sehingga mengurangi terjadinya resiko bencana banjir di kabupaten Demak. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Demak sebagai wilayah berpotensi banjir. Sampel dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling, Metode penelitian adalah mixed research: Sequential exploratory design yaitu pengumpulan data (observational exploratoty) kebencanaan, etnografi, tingkat pemahaman dan kesiapsiagaan bencana dilanjutkan analisis kuantitatif untuk menyusun strategi pentahelix dalam mengatasi banjir di Kota Demak. Data diperoleh menggunakan observasi dan angketisasi berbasis online: Google Form. Konfirmasi data dilakukan dengan indepth interview. Observasi lapangan dilakukan dengan angket terbimbing untuk mengumpulkan data peran pemerintah, masayarakat, private sector dan lembaga swadaya dalam penanganan banjir. Data dianalisis berdasarkan demografi, wilayah, dan pemahaman menghadapi bencana banjir.

Abstract

Tidal flooding (rob) along Pantura Road in Sayung District, Demak Regency has compelled local communities to adopt diverse adaptation strategies for survival. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, this research explored coastal community adaptation strategies through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that adaptation varies according to economic capacity. Physical adaptations include raising house foundations, constructing multi-story buildings, and adopting stilt house designs. Socioeconomic adaptations involve collective action to remove road barriers, repurposing newly inundated pond areas, and diversifying livelihoods. Public facility adaptations are evident in the elevation of cemetery grounds and the modification of school infrastructure. Government interventions support these efforts through the development of pumping systems, construction of water barriers, and dredging of sedimentation channels. While tidal flooding reaching up to 40 cm disrupts daily community activities, it also creates new economic opportunities, particularly in fish cultivation. Overall, the study demonstrates that community adaptation is both dynamic and rooted in local wisdom, enabling resilience in the face of climate change impacts. These insights provide valuable contributions to understanding coastal community resilience and serve as references for adaptive management policies in similarly vulnerable coastal regions experiencing sea-level rise and recurrent tidal flooding.

Abstract

Pembelajaran geografi di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) menuntut pemahaman komprehensif, termasuk materi keanekaragaman hayati. Namun, banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep ini karena metode pembelajaran konvensional yang monoton dan berpusat pada guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran berbasis permainan ular tangga dalam mengajarkan konsep keanekaragaman hayati, serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen pre-test dan post-test. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI 7 di SMAN 1 Kaliwungu, Kabupaten Kendal, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar dan kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media ular tangga, dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 74,4 meningkat menjadi 91 pada post-test, serta persentase peningkatan sebesar 64,73%. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,63 mengindikasikan peningkatan berada dalam kategori "Tinggi". Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran berbasis permainan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini menyarankan pengembangan lebih lanjut media pembelajaran berbasis permainan dan teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran

Abstract

Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah menganalisis implementasi dan mengukur efektivitas Game Edukasi Internet of Things (IoT) sebagai media mitigasi bencana gempa dan tsunami akibat megathrust untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kebencanaan pada siswa SDN 3 Widarapayung Wetan, Kecamatan Adipala, Kabupaten Cilacap. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu semua siswa SDN 3 Widarapayung Wetan. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 38 yang diambil dari siswa kelas V dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test, uji n-gain, dan deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa setelah diberi perlakuan menggunakan Game Edukasi berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) pengetahuan kebencanaan siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 18.72% antara hasil pretes dan postes. Berdasarkan analisis uji paired sample t-test diperoleh nilai p value (two-tailed) sebesar 0.000 dan angka tersebut lebih kecil dari 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara data pretest dan posttest. Hasil uji n-gain menunjukkan nilai n-gain sebesar 0.69 sehingga tergolong efektif dalam kategori sedang. hasil angket respon siswa diketahui persentase rata-rata yang diperoleh sebesar 91% sehingga menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki perserpsi positif dan ketertarikan terhadap media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Flood inundation around Rawa Pening Lake has intensified in recent years, yet long-term patterns of inundation extent and persistence remain poorly quantified. This study aims to analyse the interannual and spatial dynamics of flood inundation in the Rawa Pening lake-basin system during 2019–2025 and to identify riparian zones that experience recurrent flooding. Sentinel-2 Level-2A imagery was processed within a 3 km riparian buffer to compute the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), apply a histogram- and visually based threshold for water extraction, and generate annual maximum inundation and seasonal wet-season inundation-frequency metrics. The classification achieved high overall accuracy (93.1%), supporting the reliability of the derived inundation products. The multiyear results reveal strong year-to-year variability in maximum inundation and show that floodwater consistently concentrates in low-lying southern and southeastern riparian sectors, particularly within Banyubiru and Tuntang subdistricts, while western and northern sectors experience smaller and less persistent flooding. The combination of maximum inundation extent and inundation-frequency maps provides complementary insight into extreme events and recurrent flood exposure, enabling a clearer distinction between episodic and chronic flood impacts on riparian agriculture and settlements. These findings demonstrate the value of multitemporal MNDWI analysis and an ecologically defined buffer zone for monitoring lake-basin flooding and offer a spatial basis for prioritizing riparian conservation, land-use regulation, and flood-risk reduction around Rawa Pening.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential for students not only to understand the material but also to solve everyday problems based on their knowledge. These critical thinking skills can be further developed when teachers create a learning environment that supports students in honing their critical thinking abilities, especially in learning geography. Student self-motivation is also a crucial aspect of successful learning. The integration of digitalization in education should be maximally utilized to enhance students' motivation and interest in learning geography. Augmented reality (AR) is one of the alternative digital technologies that can be used as a learning media. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group model. Data collection techniques included observation to assess the geography learning conditions at the research site, tests to measure students' critical thinking skills, questionnaires to determine students' motivation levels, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, N-Gain test, and descriptive percentage analysis. The results indicated that the model and media used were less effective in improving critical thinking skills, as evidenced by a low average N-Gain score of 0.0392 in the experimental class. Meanwhile, student learning motivation increased slightly by 0.33%, from 72.74% to 73.07%, which is categorized as high motivation.

Abstract

Sanggar Nadi is a program initiated by students from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) as part of the UNNES GIAT 9 framework. This program was created to improve access to quality education and self-development facilities for children in Ternadi Village, which are often limited. The purpose of the program is to enhance children's skills and develop their talents through educational and creative activities, with the children as the primary focus of the service. The methods used in this program include initial observations to map the children's interests and talents, followed by intensive mentoring through activities such as learning acting, story writing, reading, and dancing. The activities were carried out by designing and implementing a program based on arts and culture, with the aim of strengthening children's skills and interests. The results of the program showed that Sanggar Nadi successfully made a positive impact on the development of children's skills and talents, although there are still challenges to be addressed, such as the need to improve program management and ensure the sustainability of the activities. The program also successfully created creative products such as folktales and dance performances that reflect local cultural values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran dari perspektif aksiologi geografi. Geografi adalah bidang ilmu yang membahas tentang berbagai fenomena di bumi yang secara langsung maupun tidak langsung berkaitan erat dengan bumi dan kehidupan manusia, serta mempelajari pola ruang. Geografi berkaitan dengan alam dan orang-orang yang mengeksplorasi elemen fisik, manusia dan sosial dalam studi geografi untuk memahami bagaimana geografi adalah campuran dari ilmu sosial dan ilmu alam. Geografi tidak terlepas dari ilmu-ilmu lain dalam kajian fenomena geosfer. Geografi merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang ada dalam core subject and 21st century themes, dimana pada pembelajaran abad 21 membutuhkan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi untuk melaksanakan proses kegiatan belajar. Ilmu pengetahuan akan mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, apabila kita memanfaatkan teknologi dan menerapkannya di dalam proses pembelajaran. Teknologi pembelajaran dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar, sehingga pembelajaran akan berjalan lebh efektif dengan memecahkan suatu permasalahan atau studi kasus yang telah diterapkan ke dalam teknologi pembelajaran.

Abstract

LOCAL WISDOM OF THE KRINJING VILLAGE COMMUNITY IN MITIGATION EFFORTS TO MITIGATE THE DISASTER OF THE ERUPTION OF MOUNT MERAPI Indonesian society is certainly not far from local wisdom. This is especially true for communities living on the slopes of Volcano Merapi. This study was conducted in Krinjing Village, Dukun Subdistrict, Magelang Regency. The purpose of this study was to identify forms of local wisdom and their significance as a means of mitigating disasters caused by Volcano Merapi, and to obtain an overview of Krinjing Village, which is located in a disaster-prone area. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach as well as a spatial and environmental approach with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. Local wisdom as mitigation includes Saparan, philosophy, slametan, and figures such as Wo Katorejo. Local wisdom as culture includes Wayangan, Jathilan, and Topeng Ireng. Community adaptation after the 2010 eruption includes the evacuation of sister villages to Deyangan Village, economic sector recovery, and the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for preparedness. Local wisdom in Krinjing Village plays an important role in volcanic eruption mitigation by building solidarity and preparedness.
