Abstract

The inaccurate timing of task collection and the low quality of 3D craft products is due to the fact that most of the students have not been able to manage the timely completion of tasks and lack of optimal control over the tasks assigned. This study aims to determine whether the use of passport skills in project-based learning can improve the timeliness and quality of 3D craft products. An action research conducted in class X Animation 2 SMK N 11 Semarang is done in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection on project based learning with applied passport skill. The data were taken in the form of the timeliness of task collection and product quality measured from the aspect of tidiness, proportion, and uniqueness. The data obtained were analyzed in descriptions. The results show that project-based learning through passport skills can improve the timeliness of X-Animation students of SMK Negeri 11 Semarang. It is proven that students who submitted the task on time rose from 75% to 92%. The learning also improves the quality of three-dimensional craft products, proven by the average in cycle I of 74.31 increased to 85.19. Percentage of completeness in the first cycle reached 64% and in the second cycle increased to 92%. The level of tidiness in cycle I reached 83% increased to 88%, while the proportion aspect increased from 78% to 86%, and the uniqueness aspect increased from 62% to 81%. It was concluded that project-based learning using passport skill enhances the timeliness and quality of 3D craft products in students of X-Animation class of SMK N 11 Semarang.

Abstract

In the school-based curriculum of fine arts, a school can teach its material to students, including making crafts from ceramics. This research discusses the use of ceramics as a medium for teaching fine arts to elementary school students in “SDIT” Permata Hati, Banjarnegara. This research employed qualitative design with the interdisciplinary approach. It used observation, interview, and literature reviews to collect the data. The data were validated using triangulation. The research followed the sequence of analysis starting from data reduction, data presentation, and verification. This research found that ceramics, as the medium of teaching fine arts, can initiate ideas and creativity for the children. Then, the teaching of fine arts teaches the students to appreciate and create artworks in SDIT Permata Hati inside and outside of the school in the centre of ceramics artisans.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to reveal the local wisdom values of Rumoh Aceh architecture in Garot Cut village. Local wisdom means the wisdom to face something. Aceh’s local wisdom is a reflection of Aceh’s cultural tradition that is manifested in Aceh’s traditional architecture, in this case is Rumoh Aceh in Garot Cut village. The formulation of problems in this research is local wisdom values that is expressed through Rumoh Aceh. This research aims at analyzing the local wisdom values in Rumoh Aceh. The method used in this research is qualitative with ethnographical approach. Data collecting techniques are observation, interview, and document study with primary and secondary data sources. The technique of data validity is through source triangulation and data analysis technique through the stage of data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research is situated in Garot Cut village. Indrajaya district Pidie regency. The research findings show that Rumoh Aceh has local wisdom values. Those values are in the components of building shape and the traditional ceremony of Rumoh Aceh, the values are religious, moral, social, traditional, and sensitive on nature. The knowledge, attitude, and local wisdom behavior Rumoh Aceh teach the society to adapt, to care with cultural inheritance, and to form the system of social familial system.

Abstract

As part of the culture, sport has a variety of forms and meaning that undergo changes from time to time and from society to society. This study is intended to describe the accessability of public spaces, the adaptation patterns of the use of public spaces by participants of ‘sport for all’, forms of interaction, communication and image of “sport for all”, and sociocultural factors that support “sport for all” within the car free day program in Simpang Lima Complex. A phenomenologic naturalistic approach by using a multi-site design was used. The subjects consisted of heads of Semarang City Services, and users of car free day activities. The data were collected by using observation, documents, and interviews.The results show that first, public spaces are external and accessible by all people and consist of parks, city square, roads, and sidewalks. Second, the users of “sport for all” adapt to the available spaces through car free day activities. Third, the symbols of interaction, communication and image of “sport for all” are similar including accessories, fashion and identities to visually demonstrate their community or group existence. Fourth, physical, social, ecologic, and economic aspects of the sociocultural factors support “sport for all”.

Abstract

The education of art and culture contributes to the development goals of the Indonesian nation in the form of collective art (integrated art) of the whole art. Concretely, traditional art form in Indonesia can be found in wayang art. Globalization and the development of ICT in the show world now have a negative impact on the lack of interest of the younger generation to recognize the performance of wayang art, especially Solo cultural city. The research on the background of the creation of the Heri Dono puppet legend involves the aspect of the idea (source of ideas) that underlies the artist in the wayang puppets' way of being a new wayang. This research uses qualitative-descriptive approach. The object of research is the process of making and events Wayang Legend show. Sources of research data are informants, places, events, and documentation. Data obtained through observation techniques, interviews, and content analysis to examine existing document study, purposive sampling, and snowball sampling. The validity of the data is tested by triangulation of sources and methods. Data were analyzed using interactive analysis technique.The background of the Wayang Puppet creation Heri Dono stood on the consciousness of presenting himself, turning to tradition, and beginning in the 1980s. Experiencing puppet characters is related to understanding puppet show stories. Heri Dono reaffirms his belief that art is not separated from culture. Underlying his art making, he feels the need to develop the sensitivity to listen to the sounds and music, the sensitivity to motion and the sensitivity of telling. Heri Dono created two series of Legend Puppet: in 1988 "Si Tungkot Tunggal Panaluan" based on the legend of Batak society of North Sumatra and in 1992 "Momotaro" which raised the legend of Japanese society. The Legend Wayang Series uses vernacular as a medium for the disclosure of contemporary art; universal language is used to build communication within the sphere of the modern world, which incorporates the image of cartoons and comics.

Abstract

Visual signs as a symbol and philosophical value of femininity in wayang golek purwa at this time is less understood by some Pasundan people in Kuningan regency of West Java due to the strong influence of modernization. The problems in this research is how the visual form and femininity values ​​in wayang golek purwa typical of West Java Kuningan.This study aimed at explaining the visual form and the femininity values of wayang golek Purwa typical of West Java. This research utilized a descriptive method with socio-cultural approach based on post-positivism philosophy in the semiotics theory of Roland Barthes and Ferdinand De Saussure. The findings of this research is that the visual form of female characters in wayang golek purwa typical of West Java Kuningan is a denotative sign embodiment that retains the existing visual patterns of the puppet way puppet purwa. Meanwhile, the connotative values signifies that the existing wayang golek purwa typical of Kuningan West Java gives an illustration of the noble values ​​contained in the female characters of the puppet, that is the value of wisdom, holiness, manners, and feminism.

Abstract

Ornamentation on Songko’ Pamiring, as headgear equipment in the Bugis tradition, develops according to the demands of the times. Functionally, Songko' Pamiring is still used as a customary tool but has undergone changes especially in the form of its ornamentation. This study aims to study the design of songkok as an applied visual product that focuses on the ornamental variety of songko' pamiring made by traditional craftsmen who live in Paccing Village, Bone Regency. The study was carried out using qualitative research methods, and interdisciplinary approaches. The results show that there have been changes of orientation in making songko' pamiring. The changes include (1) the form, type, and symbolic meaning of songko' pamiring ornamentation, (2) the weaving techniques using additional media, and (3) the ornamental motifs that have become increasingly simple. In general, these changes are due to changes in orientation in working to meet market demand.

Abstract

Sepatu roda merupakan salah satu olahraga pilihan masyarakat perkotaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis aktivitas sepatu roda yang menjadi pilihan generasi “Z” pada masyarakat di Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Subyek penelitian adalah warga masyarakat Kota Semarang generasi “Z” yang melakukan aktivitas sepatu roda. Informan pendukung penelitian adalah pelatih dan atlet klub sepatu roda.Teknik analisis data pada menggunakan analisis data model interaktif, terdiri atas komponen reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat yang melakukan aktivitas sepatu roda berusia 7-23 tahun atau tergolong dalam generasi “Z”. Aktivitas sepatu roda dilakukan di kawasan jalan, trotoar Simpang Lima dan Jl. Pahlawan, track Jatiridi, track Bandara dan track Akademi Kepolisian. Tujuan mereka melakukan aktivitas ini adalah untuk olahraga rekreasi dan menjaga kebugaran tubuh, budaya trend dan mencari prestasi. Aktivitas sepatu roda juga membentuk pranata sosial, pranata ekonomi dan pranata budaya di Kota Semarang. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam aktivitas ini antara lain pantang menyerah, kerjasama, disiplin, tanggungjawab, saling menghormati dan menghargai. Pemerintah Kota Semarang diharapkan lebih mendukung kegiatan ini, fasilitas yang ada agar lebih dijaga dan ditambah yang lebih baik, serta membantu Perserosi dalam kegiatan pelatihan untuk atlet dan pelatih. Abstract

In the context of art as a language, ornament also functions as a visual language, because in Javanese culture there is a tradition to express an idea, expression, and moral message containing learning about noble morals through ornamentation.  This paper aims to analyze what are the noble moral-based learning contained in ornaments in Kraton Yogyakarta and what influenced them. Data were obtained through field observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results showed that the decorative figural art and ornamentation in Javanese culture are not only visually captivating but also convey profound cultural, religious, and moral meanings, making them an essential part of the Javanese cultural heritage. The visual narrative of ornaments was mainly influenced by cultural acculturation in Javanese society, while noble character-based learning was the result of religious syncretism and belief in Javanese culture.

Abstract

Jaran Kepang Semarangan is a community based art product. It is a product that has existed in between generations. This research reviews community-based art education as a means to transfer the culture of Jaran Kepang performance. This research is qualitative research with an interdisciplinary approach of sociology to discuss community-based art education and anthropology to dig deeper into the system of knowledge, values, and beliefs within the performance of Jaran Kepang. The research includes a field study in Semarang Regency. The researchers collected the data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The researchers validated the data through triangulation of technique, sources, theory, and times. The data were analysed based on the theories of Janet Adshead along with Miles and Huberman. The research finds that 1) there is a change of community-based art education, including the system of knowledge, values, and beliefs; 2) the transfer of Jaran Kepang is similar to the theory of Cavalli-Sforza and Feldman under the scheme of AGIL (Adaptation, Goal-attainment, Integration, Latent-pattern-maintenance). There is a shift of inheritance system which is from vertical transmission (intergeneration of family) to horizontal transmission or planned regeneration via social media, training, and performance; 3) the development of Jaran Kepang Semarangan is categorized into five types, which are ritualistic ceremony; entertainment of people who hold events, such as marriage, circumcision, gratitude events; rayonan; and entertainment in tourist attraction, cultural festival, or dance competition.
