Abstract

This study aims to find out students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at Junior High School 1 Gorontalo City, to find out the role of PPKn teachers in increasing students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at Junior High School 1 Gorontalo. The results of the study show that the role of PPKn teachers in increasing students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo, namely teachers play an active role in guiding students and role models in building a literacy culture in schools, especially students' interest in reading. The reading interest of students at SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo is still finding many problems, especially in terms of the interest of the students themselves, because in this day and age everything is all modern, especially in terms of books they can access books not only through the library but also online. So most of them if they want to read, most of them are online, but some, most still have no interest in reading, especially since libraries have begun to be rare and can be counted, in one class there are only a few people, not up to 10 people.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve student engagement through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in the Civics subject (PPKn) for Class IX-1 at SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan. The background of this research stemmed from the teacher’s limited use of varied teaching strategies, which caused students to lose interest, become disengaged, and participate less during lessons. The research utilized Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles comprising the phases of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study involved 20 students (11 male and 9 female). Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The findings revealed that the use of the PBL model significantly improved students’ learning activity, as reflected in the increase in evaluation scores from 60% in Cycle I to 80% in Cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in enhancing student participation and creating a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada mata pelajaran PPKn di kelas IX-1 SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan. Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi adalah kurangnya variasi dan kreativitas guru dalam menyampaikan materi, sehingga siswa menjadi kurang tertarik, tidak fokus, serta minim partisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 siswa, terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 9 siswa perempuan. Setiap siklus melibatkan dua kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL mampu meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PPKn, yang ditandai dengan peningkatan nilai evaluasi dari 60% pada siklus I menjadi 80% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif dalam mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the causes of low student discipline and the strategies implemented by the principal to improve student discipline at SMA Negeri 1 Kabila. Discipline is a crucial factor in creating a conducive learning environment and supporting the success of the educational process. As the leader of an educational institution, the principal plays a central role in fostering discipline through effective and systematic strategies. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this research consist of the principal, teachers, student affairs staff, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the main causes of low student discipline include tardiness, truancy, failure to attend flag ceremonies, and improper use of school uniforms. To address these issues, the principal applied several strategies, such as modelling good behaviour, establishing effective communication with students and parents, implementing reasonable sanctions, and building a school environment that supports discipline values The principal also involved the entire school community in efforts to cultivate a culture of discipline. With the right strategies, the principal could increase student awareness and responsibility in complying with school regulations, thereby creating an orderly and productive learning environment ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab rendahnya kedisiplinan siswa dan strategi yang diterapkan oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kabila. Kedisiplinan merupakan faktor penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan menunjang keberhasilan proses pendidikan. Kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin lembaga pendidikan memiliki peran sentral dalam membina kedisiplinan melalui penerapan strategi yang efektif dan sistematis.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kepala sekolah, guru, staf kesiswaan, dan siswa. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama rendahnya kedisiplinan siswa antara lain keterlambatan datang ke sekolah, bolos, tidak mengikuti upacara, dan penggunaan atribut sekolah yang tidak sesuai. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, kepala sekolah menerapkan beberapa strategi seperti memberikan keteladanan, menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan siswa dan orang tua, menerapkan sanksi yang logis, serta membangun lingkungan sekolah yang mendukung nilai-nilai kedisiplinan. Kepala sekolah juga melibatkan seluruh warga sekolah dalam upaya menciptakan budaya disiplin.Dengan strategi yang tepat, kepala sekolah mampu meningkatkan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab siswa dalam menaati peraturan sekolah, sehingga tercipta lingkungan belajar yang tertib dan produktif.

Abstract

Kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa didalam kelas, terlihat dari kurangnya antusiaisme mereka dalam menerima pelajaran, kurang memperhatikan Guru saat belajar, dan lebih memilih bermain handphone, jarang hadir di dalam kelas serta dibeberapa kesempatan ada yang tidak masuk kelas karena lebih memilih ikut-ikutan bersama teman-temannya untuk tidak masuk ke kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memotret bagaimana kegiatan pembelajaran siswa serta bagaimana penggunaan model pembelajaran Guru di SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif dengan pendekatan Deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa akan termotivasi untuk belajar apabila siswa merasa relevansi materi sesuai dengan kehidupan mereka dan merasa taktif terlibat, dan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang menarik, juga sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan oleh guru PPkn

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the national character of SMA Negeri 1 Kabila students in facing the increasingly complex challenges of globalization. The activity was carried out through the method of lectures and interactive dialogues which were carried out offline with three main stages, namely observation, material delivery, and evaluation. Observations were carried out to identify the initial level of students' understanding of national values. The material delivery stage is carried out through a combination of lectures and interactive dialogues to encourage students' active involvement in the learning process, while the evaluation stage aims to assess the improvement of their understanding and appreciation of national values. The results of the activity showed that the participants had a good basic understanding of the importance of national character and showed awareness of the need for continuous coaching. Nevertheless, there are still some challenges, such as a lack of a deep understanding of the nature of nationalism, diverse perceptions of the influence of globalization, and gaps between conceptual understanding and the application of national values in daily life. This activity concluded that although the foundations of student understanding have been formed, a sustainable and comprehensive approach is needed to transform national values into tangible behaviors. The recommendations proposed include the development of a follow-up program that focuses on internalizing values through concrete practices, intensive mentoring, and strengthening the role of schools as an environment of habituation. Overall, this service activity has a positive impact on increasing students' national awareness, strengthening their understanding of the nation's noble values, and equipping them with the ability to respond critically to the flow of globalization without losing their identity as an Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo bahwa sebagian dari siswa-siswi ada yang sering bermain Game online, mengalami kurangnya minat belajar di sekolah, mengabaikan tugas-tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, datang terlambat ke sekolah dan bahkan ada yang mengalami penurunan prestasi dalam bidang akademik. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Dampak dari bermain Game online ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Kualitatif dengan Pendekatan Deskriptif. Jumlah seluruh siswa di SMK Negeri 3 Kota Gorontalo yang terdiri dari 3 angkatan yaitu sebanyak 1368 orang, jika dipresentasikan jumlah Laki-laki yang bermain Game online sekitar 75%, sehingga berdasarkan presentasi tersebut Solusi terbaik yang dilakukan oleh Guru terhadap siswa yang sering bermain Game Online adalah memberikan Nasehat dan motivasi kepada mereka agar tidak terus-terusan bermain Game online yang akan berdampak tidak baik terhadap kesehatan fisik dan psikis mereka.

Abstract

The impact of social media such as YouTube, WhatsApp, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook and so on has positive and negative impacts on students. Positive impacts, for example, will have creativity, have innovation in the development of science, and be used as an online business. The negative impact of foreign culture on students has reached an alarming stage because there is a tendency for students to have forgotten the culture of their own people. The culture of following along with Appearance or how to dress, following tick-tock trends, style of language in speaking, and shopping online, and always playing online games will affect the volume of brain cells so that the level of intelligence will decrease. Based on the above problems, the researchers conducted outreach to students in the private Madrasah Aliyah Hall, Pinogaluman District, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency with the aim of (1) strengthening and inculcating national character values for students in private Madrasah Aliyah, Pinogaluman District, Regency Bolaang Mongondow Utara. (2) Increasing students' awareness of their behavior while in the Madrasah environment. (3) Building a good cooperative relationship between teachers and parents of students. After carrying out the Mentoring and Socialization activities for students, we plan to do a mapping to find out how successful the teacher is in guiding his students.

Abstract

A child is one of the creatures entrusted by God to be cared for, guided and given affection. One of the rights of children is to get an education, and teaching both at home, school and in the community. The child also has the right to have legal protection of his / her self both physically and mentally. Children who are vulnerable to physical or sexual violence are also entitled to legal protection. Gorontalo, especially the number of sexual violence against children, is increasing, this is clearly one of the problems faced by the government. Therefore, collaborative community service conducted by lecturers and students by involving education units in SMP Negeri 3 Limboto is considered very important. The implementation method is packaged in the form of pengbadian socialization prevention of sexual violence in SMP Negeri 3 Limboto Anak. Its purpose is to provide understanding and education on how important it is to protect children's rights and prevent children from the dangers of sexual violence.

Abstract

Education is a crucial factor in improving the quality of human resources and regional development. However, not all regions in Indonesia demonstrate optimal educational achievements. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the low level of formal education in Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo Province, focusing on the role of parents, environmental influences, and children's motivation. A descriptive qualitative research approach was used, conducted in Saritani Village, Wonosari District. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 26 informants, including village officials, teachers, parents, and adolescents who either pursued or did not pursue higher education. The research findings indicate that low community participation in higher education is influenced by several factors. Internally, low motivation, health issues, and a lack of family responsibility are the primary reasons. Meanwhile, external factors such as poor family economic conditions, a culture of early employment, and a social environment that does not support education exacerbate the situation. Although some parents have made preventive, repressive, and guidance efforts, the final decision rests with the children. The village government and schools have also contributed through socialization and educational assistance, but their impact remains limited. This study recommends continuous synergy among parents, schools, and the village government to create a more inclusive and sustainable educational ecosystem in underdeveloped areas like Boalemo. ABSTRAKPendidikan merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan pembangunan suatu daerah. Namun, tidak semua wilayah di Indonesia menunjukkan capaian pendidikan yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi rendahnya tingkat pendidikan formal di Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo, dengan fokus pada peran orang tua, pengaruh lingkungan, dan motivasi anak. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, yang dilaksanakan di Desa Saritani, Kecamatan Wonosari. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap 26 informan, termasuk aparat desa, guru, orang tua, serta remaja yang melanjutkan dan tidak melanjutkan ke pendidikan tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat dalam pendidikan tinggi dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Dari sisi internal, rendahnya motivasi, kesehatan, dan rasa tanggung jawab terhadap keluarga menjadi alasan utama. Sementara itu, faktor eksternal seperti kondisi ekonomi keluarga yang kurang mampu, budaya kerja dini, serta lingkungan sosial yang tidak mendukung pendidikan turut memperburuk situasi. Meski sebagian orang tua telah melakukan upaya preventif, represif, dan pembinaan, keputusan akhir tetap berada pada anak. Pemerintah desa dan sekolah juga telah berkontribusi melalui sosialisasi dan bantuan pendidikan, namun dampaknya masih terbatas. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan adanya sinergi berkelanjutan antara orang tua, sekolah, dan pemerintah desa untuk menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang lebih inklusif dan berkelanjutan di daerah tertinggal seperti Boalemo.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Civic Education (PPKn) teachers in preventing student delinquency at SMP Negeri 2 Telaga, focusing on two main aspects: instructional activities and the development of school culture through character education. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that PPKn teachers actively instill character values during both classroom instruction and school-wide activities such as flag ceremonies and discussions, fostering student engagement and a positive learning environment. Teachers play a strategic role in guiding students away from deviant behaviors and encouraging responsible conduct. However, a notable challenge arises from a subgroup of students who carry negative influences from outside the school environment, requiring more intensive intervention. Meanwhile, the school promotes a positive culture by offering weekly varied activities that provide opportunities for quieter or less active students to express themselves, thus building self-confidence and participation. The role of PPKn teachers extends beyond classroom instruction, making a significant contribution to shaping student character and establishing a school environment conducive to the prevention of delinquency. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) dalam mencegah kenakalan peserta didik di SMP Negeri 2 Telaga, dengan fokus pada dua aspek utama: kegiatan pembelajaran dan pengembangan budaya sekolah melalui pendidikan karakter. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PPKn aktif membangun nilai-nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran dan kegiatan sekolah, termasuk apel dan diskusi kelas, yang mendorong keterlibatan serta sikap positif siswa. Guru juga memainkan peran strategis dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif dan mengarahkan peserta didik untuk menjauhi perilaku menyimpang. Namun, tantangan muncul dari sekelompok siswa yang membawa pengaruh negatif dari luar sekolah, sehingga membutuhkan pendekatan lebih intensif. Di sisi lain, pengembangan budaya sekolah dilakukan dengan memberi ruang bagi siswa pendiam atau kurang aktif untuk mengekspresikan diri melalui kegiatan mingguan yang bervariasi, guna membangun kepercayaan diri dan keterlibatan mereka. Peran guru PPKn terbukti melampaui pengajaran di kelas, dengan kontribusi nyata dalam membentuk karakter dan ekosistem sekolah yang mendukung pencegahan kenakalan peserta didik.
