Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a Decision Support System (DSS) aimed at facilitating the selection of potential banking stocks by novice investors. The system integrates two well-established decision-making methodologies: the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Profile Matching. The objective is to provide a structured, data-driven approach that assists users in making informed and objective investment decisions based on critical financial performance indicators. These indicators include Price to Earnings Ratio (PER), Price to Book Value (PBV), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Earnings Per Share (EPS), Book Value Per Share (BVPS), Debt Ratio (DR), and Dividend Yield (DY). In this system, AHP is employed to calculate the relative weight or importance of each financial criterion through pairwise comparisons, incorporating users judgment in the weighting process. Once the weights are determined, the Profile Matching method is used to assess and rank the alternative banking stocks based on how closely they align with the ideal profile defined by the criteria. The results of the analysis identified Bank Mandiri (BMRI) as the top-ranked stock, followed by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) and Bank Central Asia (BBCA), indicating their strong fundamental performance according to the selected indicators. To validate the system's functionality, black-box testing was conducted on 21 different modules, all of which yielded valid outcomes. This confirms that the application operates correctly and reliably. Overall, the study concludes that the DSS is effective, user-friendly, and valuable as a decision support tool, especially for beginner investors targeting the banking sub-sector.

Abstract

Beef cattle have a major role in meat production and meet animal protein needs. This study aims to identify and calculate the prevalence rate and level of ectoparasite infestation in beef cattle raised intensively and semi-intensively in Alur Measles village and Pangkalan Susu sub-district agricultural village. This research uses exploratory methods with tools such as sweep nets and tweezers. Sweep nets are used to catch ectoparasites flying around the cow’s body, while tweezers are used to pick up ectoparasites attached to the cow’s body. There are four families of ectoparasite consisting of four different types. The most common type of ectoparasite found is Rhipicephalus microplu. The highest attendance rate was seen in semi-intensively raised cows, with the ectoparasite Rhipicephalus microplus present rate reaching 100% which can be categorized as “always present”. Meanwhile, the lowest attendance rate was seen in intensively reared cattle, with the ectoparasite Chryomya megacephala present at a rate of 26%, which can be categorized as ”frequently present”. The highest infestation rate also occurred in semi-intensively raised cattle, with an Rhipicephalus microplus infestation rate of 6.88, which can be categorized as “moderate”. Meanwhile, the lowest infestation rate occurred in intensively raised cows, with an infestation rate of 0.28, which can be categorized as “very low”I.

Abstract

Carbon tetrachloride is well known as hepatotoxic, including toxic substances commonly used to induce liver damage. Sugar palm (Arenga Pinnata Merr.) is a type of palm plant that is used as a source of antioxidants, one of which is part of the fruit. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of administering ethanol extract of palm fruit (Arenga pinnata Merr.) on the morphology and liver function of rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) which is induced by carbon tetrachloride. This research method used a completely randomized design consisting of 20 mice grouped into 5 groups, namely negative control, positive control, P1 (ethanol extract of palm fruit 90 mg/kg BW), P2 (180 mg/kg BW), P3 (360 mg /kg BW) with each group having four repetitions. Data analysis was carried out using the One Way ANOVA test and continued with the Duncan test. The results of this study show that carbon tetrachloride at a dose of 1 mL/kg BW can damage the morphological appearance of rat liver and increase SGOT and SGPT levels. Giving ethanol extract of palm fruit to the P3 group at a dose of 360 mg/kg BW was the most effective dose to improve liver morphology and reduce SGOT and SGPT levels in white rats induced by carbon tetrachloride.

Abstract

This paper explores the influence of the Indonesian government's palm cooking oil subsidy policies on the welfare of communities in Aceh Province. The Policy aims to stabilise prices, to support producers, and to increase access to affordable cooking oil for consumers. However, empirical evidence shows that the market price frequently exceeds the government-determined ceiling price, which raises concerns about the Policy's effectiveness. To evaluate the actual impact of the subsidy, this study employs a multimarket analytical model in conjunction with an interest-maximising function approach to identify the optimal subsidy level that maximises social welfare. The analysis includes palm and coconut cooking oil as interrelated commodities, with supply and demand modelled using Cobb-Douglas functions. The study focuses on Elasticity as a key determinant in understanding the effectiveness of the subsidy, given that inelastic behaviour in supply and demand significantly affects the price gap between market equilibrium and subsidy-induced outcomes. Simulation results reveal that the optimal subsidy rates are 16% for palm oil and 26% for coconut oil. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis across four scenarios shows that lower Elasticity necessitates higher subsidies, while higher Elasticity can reduce the required subsidy without diminishing welfare gains. The results indicate that producers enjoy most of the welfare gains, although consumers also benefit from lower market prices. Therefore, a well-calibrated subsidy policy, based on empirical elasticity values and multimarket interactions, can lead to a more balanced welfare distribution. The findings underscore the importance of data-driven policy formulation to enhance efficiency and equity in government subsidy programs. Ultimately, this research recommends that future subsidy frameworks integrate elasticity parameters and economic modelling to ensure affordability and sustainability in essential commodity markets.

Abstract

Undiluted sperm will reduce fertility, therefore dilution is performed to maintain the quality of spermatozoa during storage. Tomatoes contain carbohydrates, vitamin A, vitamin C, protein, and lycopene as antioxidants. Carbohydrates and antioxidants act as a source of energy to potentially prevent free radicals that can damage cells. This study aims to determine the effect of adding tomato juice in sodium citrate diluent and free-range chicken egg yolks to the semen quality of limousin cattle. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consisted of a solution of sodium citrate and egg yolk (P0), sodium citrate and egg yolk + 10% tomato extract (P1), sodium citrate and egg yolk + 20% tomato extract (P2), and egg yolk sodium citrate + 30% tomato extract. % (P3). Parameters observed were motility, viability and abnormalities of semen spermatozoa of Limousin cattle. Observations were made at 0, 24, 48, and 72 hours after cooling. The results showed that the addition of 10% tomato extract (P1) had a significant effect on the highest percentage of motility, namely 42.00 ± 2.73c for the 48th hour, the highest viability 62.10 ± 4.51c for the 72nd hour, and lowest abnormality 16.60 ± 1.81a until the 72nd hour. The addition of 10% tomato extract (P1) in sodium citrate diluent and egg yolk resulted in the best motility, viability, and abnormality percentage of Limousin cattle spermatozoa.
