Abstract

Although Islamic school branding has been the focus of several studies, research that specifically integrates value-based Islamic branding with a genetic fitrah-based educational approach at the elementary school level remains very limited. This study aims to analyze the process of constructing an authentic Islamic reputation at SD IT Madani Islamic School Payakumbuh through value habituation, teacher role modeling, personalized learning, humanistic public communication, and a child-friendly religious school culture. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. Participants consisted of the principal, six teachers, twelve students, and eight parents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The findings show that the school’s Islamic reputation is built through consistent habituation of ibadah, reinforcement of adab, the development of fitrah portfolios as the basis for mapping students’ potentials, and transparent, empathetic public communication; a safe, child-friendly school culture further strengthens the institution’s image. These results contribute to the expansion of the concept of practice-embedded Islamic branding and underscore the importance of value consistency in fitrah-based educational practice. The study recommends strengthening teachers’ capacities and implementing long-term evaluation of fitrah-based education to ensure the sustainability of an authentic Islamic reputation.

Abstract

Although educational branding has received attention in previous studies, research that specifically examines Teacher Centric Branding (TCB) as a teacher-based value approach to building the reputation of Sekolah Islam Terpadu (SIT) remains very limited. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the mechanisms through which institutional reputation is formed via the internalization of Islamic values, exemplary practice, and the support of teachers’ spiritual leadership as a living brand. The study employs a qualitative approach with an interpretative phenomenological design, involving 12 participants selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings show that value internalization through structured spiritual development serves as the foundation of teachers’ professional identity; teacher role modeling in interactions with students and parents emerges as the most influential factor in shaping public perceptions; and spiritual leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring value consistency and institutional cultural stability. These findings expand theoretical understanding of internal branding, the human brand, and value-based leadership in the context of Islamic education, and affirm that SIT reputation is more strongly built through the quality of teachers’ values and behaviors than through external promotional strategies. The implications of this study include strengthening teacher development programs, enhancing communication competencies, and developing indicators of role modeling as an integral part of school branding strategies, while also opening opportunities for further research in other SIT contexts by involving more stakeholders and employing longitudinal designs to more comprehensively understand the dynamics of TCB formation.

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan Islam dituntut mampu meningkatkan daya saing di tengah perkembangan teknologi, tuntutan mutu pendidikan, serta kompetisi antar lembaga. Kondisi ini menjadikan kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM), khususnya guru, sebagai faktor penentu keberhasilan lembaga. Namun, MTs Muhammadiyah Muara Panas masih menghadapi berbagai kendala seperti keterbatasan anggaran, waktu, serta resistensi terhadap perubahan sehingga dibutuhkan strategi pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM yang terarah dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM sebagai upaya meningkatkan daya saing organisasi di MTs Muhammadiyah Muara Panas, meliputi strategi yang diterapkan, faktor pendukung dan penghambat, serta dampaknya terhadap kualitas lembaga. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif berbasis telaah pustaka, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan penelusuran arsip. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles–Huberman yang mencakup kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pelatihan dilakukan melalui workshop, microteaching, pelatihan literasi digital, dan peer teaching, sedangkan pengembangan SDM mencakup sertifikasi profesi, studi lanjut, MGMP, serta coaching dan mentoring internal. Strategi ini terbukti meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian guru, serta mendorong inovasi pembelajaran dan reputasi lembaga. Meskipun terdapat hambatan, keberhasilan program didukung komitmen pimpinan, motivasi guru, dan pemanfaatan teknologi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pelatihan dan pengembangan SDM merupakan faktor kunci dalam membangun keunggulan kompetitif lembaga pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

Although school choice and educational branding have been widely examined, research that specifically investigates how school reputation, digital branding, teacher quality, flagship programs, and social verification interact in millennial parents’ decision-making processes remains relatively limited. This study aimed to explore in depth the mechanisms underlying millennial parents’ considerations when choosing schools for their children by focusing on six key factors: school reputation as an initial filter, digital branding as the shaper of primary perceptions, teacher quality as the basis for substantive evaluation, flagship programs as institutional differentiators, the physical environment as tangible verification, and word of mouth as the final validation. The study employed a qualitative case study design involving 12 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, supporting observations, and a review of digital documentation, and were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings show that millennial parents’ decisions are shaped by the interaction between symbolic image, digital representations, and empirically verified evidence at the interpersonal level, whereby reputation and digital branding function as triggers of initial perceptions, while teacher quality, flagship programs, and the school environment serve as the ultimate determinants of trust. These results contribute to the development of educational brand equity theory by adding the dimension of digital credibility and provide methodological enrichment by demonstrating the importance of qualitative approaches for understanding the motives and processes underpinning educational decision-making. Practically, the study underscores the need for consistency between digital branding and schools’ actual practices, the strengthening of teachers’ capacity as the primary representatives of the brand, and the optimization of testimonial-based communication strategies. Future research is recommended to test this model quantitatively and to extend its application to different demographic contexts.

Abstract

Penulisan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Orang tua dalam mendidik akhlak remaja putri dengan mengingatkan shalat tepat waktu dan mengaji, Namun pada saat diingatkan remaja putri tersebut hanya mengiyakan saja tidak melakukannya. Selain itu sebagai orang tua tentu akan memberikan nasehat dan mengajarkan untuk belajar mandiri. Ketika remaja putri di nasehati oleh orang tua hanya akan berubah beberapa saat saja setelah itu remaja putri tersebut melupakan nasehat orang tuanya dan ada beberapa remaja putri yang berani melawan atau membantah nasehat dari orang tua sehingga remaja putri ini tidak bisa mengendalikan dirinya agar selalu berada di jalan yang benar dan akhirnya remaja putri terjerumus pada kenakalan remaja. Tujuan penelitiannya yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan peran orang tua dalam mendidik akhlak remaja putri di Jorong Bunuik Kecamatan Kinali Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan jenis penelitian lapangan (Field Research) dan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian teknik analisis data melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan Triangulasi. Adapun informan dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua dan remaja putri di Jorong Bunuik Kecamatan Kinali Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua dalam mendidik akhlak remaja putri ada lima yaitu : 1) Mengajarkan Pendidikan Tauhid, orang tua menjadikan dirinya contoh dalam ibadah kepada anaknya seperti Shalat, puasa dan mengaji tapi beberapa remaja putri menunjukkan sikap malas dalam melaksanakan shalat dan enggan untuk mengaji. 2) Mengajarkan Adab dan Akhlak, orang tua mengajarkan untuk menghormati orang yang lebih tua dan menyayangi yang lebih kecil dan menjadi manusia yang bertanggung jawab, tolong menolong, menepati janji dan tidak memotong pembicaraan orang lain. Namun beberapa remaja putri sering membantah saat di beri nasihat dan menunjukkan sikap impulsif seperti membanting barang. 3) Mengajarkan anak dalam beribadah, orang tua melibatkan remaja putri secara langsung seperti mengajak remaja putri bersedekah. 4) Bersikap lemah lembut dan tegas, orang tua akan bersikap lemah lembut ketika remaja putri sedang merasakan sedih dan takut dan akan bersikap tegas ketika remaja putri melakukan kesalahan. 5) Memperhatikan perkembangan kesehatan anak baik jasmani dan rohani, orang tua mengajarkan tentang kebersihan diri terutama saat remaja putri sudah menstruasi dan dalam perkembangan rohani orang tua selalu mengajarkan nilai-nilai agama, etika bersosial serta pembatasan penggunaan HP.

Abstract

The potential to integrate Sharia-compliant financial services into this management system could further enhance the effectiveness of financial management. This not only supports the economic independence of educational institutions but also empowers their operations in the long term. This study aims to examine how a web-based Islamic education management system can improve education transparency in the digital era. Using a qualitative approach through a literature study, this research found that a web-based management system provides easy access to real-time information to all education stakeholders, thus encouraging administrative efficiency, parental involvement and public oversight. The adoption of this system is proven to support more open and accountable management of finances, curriculum and infrastructure. However, there are significant challenges faced, such as limited digital infrastructure, low technological literacy of educators and data security issues. Therefore, the development of this system needs to be inclusive, sustainable and adaptive to local conditions to ensure the effectiveness of its implementation in Islamic education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the concepts, principles, and strategies of salary and financial incentive planning for Islamic education HR based on a literature review. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative-descriptive approach, through analysis of books, scientific journals, and relevant academic sources in the fields of HR management, education, and Islamic education. The results of the study show that effective salary and incentive planning must be based on the principles of fairness, fairness, welfare, trust, and professionalism as taught in Islam. Strategies that can be implemented include setting competency- and performance-based salary standards, integrating financial and non-financial incentives, and ensuring managerial transparency and accountability. The main challenges include limited funding sources, weak internal policies, and resistance to system change. Therefore, managerial commitment and sustainable policies are needed so that salary and incentive planning can improve the overall quality of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Islamic educational institution managers must be able to plan, organize, direct, and control funds effectively. In reality, many Islamic educational institutions still face challenges in managing their finances professionally. Financial management is a crucial aspect of the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions. This article discusses the managerial challenges faced in managing sources and types of financing in these institutions. Limited funding, which depends on internal sources such as community donations, zakat, infaq, and waqf, is a major obstacle to the development of quality education. Additionally, the lack of financial management capacity and strategic planning further complicates the process of allocating and utilizing funds effectively. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with literature review as the primary method. The findings indicate that strengthening managerial competencies, diversifying funding sources, and ensuring transparency in financial management are key to addressing these challenges. Therefore, collaboration between institutional leaders, the government, and the community is necessary to create a sustainable and accountable funding system to support the quality and existence of Islamic educational institutions.
