Abstract

In the 21st century, almost all aspects of education require thinking skills, especially critical and creative thinking. However, up till now students still find it difficult to achieve good critical and creative thinking skills because of the lack of encouragement to improve these skills during the learning process in the classroom. There are many learning models being developed. One of them is problem posing. This study aims to describe student activities in the problem posing model, the indicators used to identify critical and creative thinking skills, and why problem posing can improve students' thinking skills. After conducting a literature review, theoretically problem posing can help students to improve their critical and creative thinking skills through a series of stages in the problem posing model.

Abstract

The parameters of a nation's success can be evaluated by how revolution 4.0 education advances science and technology. This is also a new difficulty in the educational realm. In order to prepare for Revolution 4.0, students must have talents as provisions. Contextual learning is one way for helping students enhance their critical and creative thinking skills. Simple harmonic motion is one of the ideas that is relevant to everyday life, hence there are many contextual problems that may be handled. To enhance students' critical and creative thinking skills, the researchers developed interactive learning media focused on the concept of simple harmonic motion. The type of research was research and development (R&D) with ADDIE model. This study examined at interactive learning media oriented at critical and creative thinking skills on the concept of simple harmonic motion. The research goal was to create learning media with critical and creative thinking skills based on the simple harmonic motion concepts. The product validity was reviewed by three physics lecturer at FMIPA UNP. Product validity has an average value of 0.83 in the very valid category.

Abstract

As technology develops, developments in the education sector are also made to keep pace. One effort that can be made to develop education is to implement education that is integrated with 4C (Critical Thinking, Creative, Communication, and Collaboration) and using a case based reasoning (CBR) approach. Based on data found in the field, schools that have not implemented 4C in learning have learning outcomes that are still relatively low, so an e-book chapter was designed on integrated 4C CBR-oriented momentum and collision material for class X. This research aims to develop an electronic book 4C oriented which integrates CBR in physics subjects in class . This research was carried out using the ADDIE development model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development and Evaluation stages. Each stage can be evaluated if necessary. The results of the study obtained data on the validity of the contents and constructs of the product by experts as well as the results of the practicality test in schools filled by physics subject teachers and class X students. The validation results carried out by the validator stated that the results of the e-book chapter product design were in the very category. So the product is valid.

Abstract

The Development of Interactive Learning Media in the 2013 Curriculum is a government effort to ensure that students have 21st-century skills. The goal of the conducted research is to develop valid interactive learning media on the topic of Newton's Law of Gravity. A field study revealed that students' critical and creative thinking skills in Newton's Law of Gravity were still low. Therefore, the existing problem was addressed by producing a product in the form of integrated learning media that fostered critical and creative thinking skills for high school students. The research conducted followed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which was reduced to the Implementation stage. Three Physics lecturers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education at State University of Padang (UNP) were involved in this research as validators, along with six Physics teachers from Padang City as practitioners. Validity test sheets were used as the data collection instrument in this research. During the data analysis phase, instrument validation and product validation were performed using the V Aiken Model Technique. The research results showed that the validated development instrument for the product category was valid. The average validity test score for the product was 0.79, which falls into the valid category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media developed in this study is considered valid.

Abstract

The 21st century demands reforms in education, especially in developing HOTS abilities. Based on observation data at SMAN Kota Padang, students' learning achievements that contain HOTS indicators have not been implemented well. The solution is to develop an instrument to test the availability of HOTS indicators in learning media. The research aims to produce an instrument for the availability of HOTS indicators in learning media. The development model for this research is the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The use of the ADDIE development model is only limited to the development stage. The first stage is to conduct a needs analysis through questionnaires and interviews. The second stage is designing instrument indicators. Next, instruments are developed based on indicators. The third stage is testing the validity of the instrument. The instrument was validated by three experts from Physics lecturers at Padang State University. The results of the validity test obtained a valid instrument. Therefore, this instrument is suitable to be used to analyze the availability of HOTS indicators in the media.

Abstract

In order to organise, carry out, and evaluate improved learning processes, education currently demands that prospective teachers have digital capabilities. However, there is still a lack of research that comprehensively examines, within the framework of digital education, the digital competences of prospective teacher students in Indonesia, particularly for those specialising in Physics teaching. The purpose of this article is to assess Indonesian prospective teacher students' digital literacy within the framework of digital education. The study's methodology is quantitative. A survey method was used to collect data from students and alumni of the Physics Education program from 2017 to 2022. A total of 248 respondents participated in the study, including 202 students and 46 alumni. The collected data were then analyzed quantitatively. The research findings indicate that the majority of respondents showed a positive response to their abilities in all assessed dimensions of digital competencies. Literacy in information and data, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, and problem-solving received favourable ratings. However, there is potential to improve skills in digital content creation. Overall, the respondents demonstrated a good level of competence in the evaluated digital competency indicators. The data also revealed that students and alumni of the Physics Education program are accustomed to using technology in their academic activities. They utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to access course materials, submit assignments, and take exams. Additionally, they employ various applications and collaborate online in groups. The program also offers courses that support the use of technology in learning.

Abstract

In recent years, interest in the application of AI in education has increased significantly. However, there has been no research explaining the research trends in this area through bibliometric analysis. The goal of this study was to undertake a bibliometric analysis to look at how research on artificial intelligence (AI) in education has evolved. This study used open access bibliometric software for conducting exploratory research and discovering new research directions. It focuses on VOSviewer, a freely available software tool designed to analyze and visualize bibliometric relationships across various variables. Starting with existing examples, the paper then presents an original case study utilizing bibliometrics to investigate the impact of AI on education. Using Scopus data and VOSviewer, this case study analyzes and compares co-occurrence patterns among publications over a decade, showcasing how such software can effectively support preliminary investigations and influence more formal research endeavors.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Chemistry learning in thermochemistry material has not been able to guide students to find concepts by themselves. Because of this, teaching materials are needed modules that apply the model-guided inquiry integrated experiment. Metode penelitian: This research aims to determine the effectiveness of uses a thermochemistry module based on guided inquiry integrated experiments with student learning outcomes. The type of this research was Randomized Pretest-poss test Control Group Design. The population was students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Padang, consist of 8 classes. The samples were chosen using a purposive-cluster random sampling technique, obtained XI MIPA 7 as experiment class and XI MIPA 4 as control class. Data analysis in this research was students learning outcomes in the cognitive domain. Hasil penelitian: The average value of the control class was 80,42 and the experiment class was 84,58. From the results statistic, both two sample classes had normal and homogenous. Based on the hypothesis using t-test with a significance level of 0,05 was found count was 3,32 and ttable was 1,66., which means H1 was accepted. In addition, to know the effectiveness of the thermochemistry module based on guided inquiry integrated experiment it can be seen using the N-Gain score. Kesimpulan: So it can be concluded that the module is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the XI MIPA at SMAN 3 Padang.
