Abstract

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a disease that was only discovered in 2019 and has been reported to have spread to almost all over the world. This pandemic has caused anxiety and fear for all Indonesians because it can be transmitted easily through humans. This study aims to cluster each province in Indonesia into certain clusters so that they can find out the characteristics, movements, and government policies that must be carried out in each cluster. This study uses secondary data regarding COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, which reached 4800 data from March 1 to August 11, 2020, in 34 Indonesian provinces. The four variables used were the number of cases of death, the number of cured cases, the number of active cases, and the number of deaths per one million population. Cluster 1 has a high risk because it has the highest variable number of active cases and the number of deaths per one million population. Cluster 2 has a low risk because it has a variable with the highest number of cured cases and the lowest number of active cases. Cluster 3 has a moderate risk because it has the lowest number of cures variable and the moderate number of active cases. The government policy in cluster 1 should prioritize the variable number of active cases and the number of death cases per one million population, cluster 2 must prioritize the variable number of deaths, and cluster 3 must prioritize the variable number of active cases.

Abstract

Currently, bottled drinking water has become the main choice for Indonesians. The percentage of consumption of bottled drinking water by Indonesians in 2018 reached 36.28% and an increase in 2019 reached 38.25%. One package that is often used is gallon packaging. There are several problems that people find when opening the gallon lid. The results of initial interviews with the community indicated that there were several problems, including the high risk of injury to the hands if you opened the gallon lid using a knife and the hands hurt if you opened the gallon cap manually without tools. These problems can be overcome by developing a product for a gallon cap opener that is tailored to customer needs or voice of customer (VOC). The method used in this research is factor analysis. A large number of community necessities make the product development process difficult because of the many needs that must be met. The purpose of this study was to reduce the number of VOCs. The Kaiser Meyer Olkin (KMO) test was used to see the suitability of the data used in factor analysis, while Bartlett's test was used to determine the significant correlation on each indicator. The result of factor analysis shows that 12 customer needs can be reduced to 3 customer needs, namely affordable gallon cap opening price, adjustable gallon cap opener diameter, and multifunctional gallon lid opener.

Abstract

Performance appraisal is a major factor in company development, so companies can assess the level of achievement of the vision and mission, business performance appraisal, manager appraisal, cross-departmental assessment, and assessment of all employees in the company. This assessment is intended to predict the company's future expectations. The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine which factors affect employee performance in the workplace. This research is conducted at one of the construction services companies where the number of skilled employees continues to decrease, and the company has experienced a decline in achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) from 2015 to 2018. The analysis technique used in this study uses the Structural Equation Modeling method. (SEM) with the help of SmartPLS (Partial Least Square) software. The results of the analysis show that the work environment variable (X1) has a positive and significant relationship to the employee engagement variable (Y1) and has a positive but not significant effect on the Employee Performance variable (Y2), the motivation variable (X2) has a positive and a significant influence on the employee engagement variable (Y1) and employee performance (Y2). The leadership variable (X3) has a positive but not significant effect on the employee engagement variable (Y1) and has a positive but not significant effect on the employee performance variable (Y2). The employee engagement variable (Y1) as a mediating variable has a positive and significant effect on the employee performance variable (Y2). The results also show that the employee engagement variable has a simultaneous influence of 56.8% which can be explained by the variables of work environment, motivation, and leadership. Employee performance variables have a simultaneous effect of 60.5% which can be explained by the variables of work environment, motivation, leadership, and employee engagement.

Abstract

The government continues to promote public transportation so that people living in Jakarta can switch from private transportation to public transportation to reduce congestion. Rail transportation is one of the widely used modes of transportation by people when they want to travel. However, at the beginning of 2020, there was a decline in passengers and there were several regulations for traveling, this was useful to suppress the level of spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Regulations and conditions for passengers who will travel by train must comply with several things, such as being obliged to follow the instructions and rules that already exist at the train station, conducting a rapid test, and having proof that the results must be negative. This research is conducted using the service quality method and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). The level of service provided by the station still must be improved to maintain the satisfaction of the passengers, because the gap scores still have a negative value. Several things cause the passengers to still not feel satisfied with some services. Eight attributes have a gap value greater than the average gap obtained. The company should continue to pay attention to the comfort and satisfaction of passengers when using train services to travel somewhere. Especially at the service level related to rapid tests, more attention can be given because there are so many passengers who will carry out rapid tests in the station area.

Abstract

The industrial sector in Indonesia has experienced rapid development in the last 10 years. The manufacturing industry is the sector that contributes the largest export value at USD 105.11 billion or Rp. 1,438 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 13,686/USD) during January to October 2019. PT. PJM is a manufacturing company that produces electrical panels. In production activities, PT. PJM still does a lot of work manually or Manual Material Handling (MMH) and has poor work postures. MMH activities and wrong and inappropriate work postures are the main sources of worker complaints that can pose ergonomic risks to workers. Ergonomics intervention in the design of assistive devices is carried out to help prevent the risk of MSDs and ergonomics in the workplace. The purpose of this study was to improve work posture and reduce the risk of MSDs in workers. The results of this study indicate that the highest exposure level is at the welding station, namely 60.79%, which is included in the category that needs further research and changes are made. However, after implementing the design of assistive devices at the welding station, there was a decrease in the exposure level value of 33.59%, which was included in the safe category. The implementation of the design of the tool has succeeded in improving the work posture and the risk of MSDs of workers at the welding station.

Abstract

Suppliers play an important role as suppliers of production raw materials, making companies must choose suppliers correctly. This paper discusses the best supplier selection to avoid financial and non-financial losses This paper uses four criteria for determining the best supplier, such as price, lead time, payment terms, and quality & service. A reasonable price following initial planning is always expected by the customers. Lead time is an essential consideration to ensure on-time delivery. Failure to perform on-time delivery will direct in poor payment terms. Besides, any products that do not meet quality standards will always lead to waste. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) are used to select and determine the best supplier for the company. Pairwise comparisons are performed by making comparisons between each criterion and the alternatives made at each level of the hierarchy in pairs to get the value of the importance of the elements in the form of a qualitative opinion. The weight values for price, lead time, payment terms, and quality and service criteria are 0.0709, 0.1409, 0.2682, and 0.5200, respectively. According to AHP, alternative weight values in each criterion are 0.3899, 0.3063, and 0.3038, namely supplier A (rank 1), supplier B (rank 2), and supplier C (rank 3), respectively. However, the results of supplier selection using the TOPSIS method are supplier B (rank 1), supplier C (rank 2), and supplier A (rank 3) with values of 518.4025, 469.2017, and 412.3928, respectively.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology also affects entrepreneurial activities. An entrepreneur will definitely update or follow any existing developments so that the business is not out of date. The transactions carried out also varied. These transaction activities certainly use a variety of payment instruments, ranging from cash to non-cash. A person's preference for something is related to the reasoning process that is built in explaining the reasons for his liking for something. Preference in this sense will certainly be related to a person's opportunity to achieve something he is interested in. This type of research is descriptive research. Descriptive research is research that includes data collection by testing hypotheses or answering questions about the latest status of research subjects. From the interviews that have been conducted, it can be interpreted that entrepreneurs who choose to use cash only think that using cash only can help, those who use cash state that if the use of cash payment is in the form of cash, the form of the money can be confirmed.
