Abstract

Seeding is one of the factors that influences plant growth. In general, sowing requires more attention because plant seeds are very sensitive to external factors such as humidity in the planting medium, environmental temperature, exposure to sunlight and pests. In this way, farmers are required to carry out direct control during the sowing process. Therefore, a system or tool is needed in the sowing process to improve the quality of the seeds produced and can reduce the time used to control the seeds during sowing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using automatic seedling tools on seed growth in a hydroponic system. This type of research includes quantitative research with experimental research methods using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results of this study indicate that sowing using automatic seedling tools has an effect on the height of mustard greens and pakcoy plants, but has no effect on the number of leaves and root length. Seed yields that had been sown conventionally were better than seed yields on automatic seedling devices because automatic seedling experienced etiolation.

Abstract

Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) are natural bacteria that play an important role in the fermentation process. These bacteria can produce cellulase and pectinase enzymes. This study aims to examine isolates of lactic acid bacteria involved in the spontaneous fermentation of amylolytic robusta coffee beans and to examine the effect of incubation time, pH and temperature on the activity of the amylase enzyme produced. This study used the experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). The stages in this study were the preparation of equipment and media, selection of amylolytic LAB, determination of the optimum incubation time, and characterization of the amylase enzyme. The results showed that there were 2 isolates capable of producing clear zones, namely isolates BT2411 and BT2412. The clear zone indicates the presence of amylolytic LAB in the tested isolates. BT24I1 isolate is a LAB isolate which produced the highest clear zone with a diameter of 2.43 mm. Testing the incubation time showed that isolate BT24I1 produced the optimum amylase enzyme at 48 hours of incubation with a specific amylase activity value of 0.64 U/ml. The characteristics of the amylase enzyme produced by BAL BT24I1 isolate are optimum at pH 4.5 with enzyme activity of 19.89 U/ml and optimum at 45℃ with enzyme activity of 19.79 U/ml

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using lime peel extract as a natural preservative on the shelf life of mackerel scad. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four concentration treatments: 0%, 0,5%, 1%, and 1,5% of lime peel extract. The mackerel scad was soaked in the extract for 30 minutes, then stored at room temperature for 0, 6, 12, and 18 hours. The results showed that the addition of 1,5% lime peel extract had the most significant effect in extending the shelf life of the mackerel scad. The chemical test results indicated that fresh mackerel scad soaked in 1,5% lime peel extract and stored for 18 hours had a pH of 3,36. The microbiological test results showed a total bacterial colony count of 5,3 log CFU/g and a total proteolytic bacteria count of 4,6 log CFU/g.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of work practice in preparing Makassar State University students for the world of work, as well as improve their soft skills in communication, discipline, teamwork, and domain-specific knowledge at the Center for Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety (BB KIPM) as the implementation of the MBKM Curriculum. The four-month research used a descriptive quantitative approach combined with experimental methods, surveys, and in-depth observations to analyze opportunities, challenges, and the impact of work practices on students' soft skills, such as communication, discipline, teamwork, and field-specific knowledge. The findings show that the internship program significantly improves students' practical skills, soft skills, and readiness for the workforce, providing valuable experience in modern laboratory techniques, occupational safety, and industry-specific management practices.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan air cucian beras terhadap laju pertumbuhan dan hasil panen jamur tiram. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan. Perlakuan penambahan air cucian beras yang dilakukan yaitu perlakuan A air cucian beras konsentrasi 80%, B air cucian beras konsentrasi 85%, C air cucian beras konsentrasi 90%, dan K air cucian beras konsentrasi 0%. Data yang telah dikumpulkan selanjutnya diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan air cucian beras dengan metode penyiraman tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap waktu kemunculan pinhead dan jumlah tangkai. Perlakuan penambahan air cucian beras dengan metode penyiraman memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap lebar tudung dan berat basah jamur tiram. Faktor lingkungan suhu dan pH tidak menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil panen jamur tiram. Namun, faktor kelembaban menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil panen jamur tiram.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity of a training module on organic fertilizer management designed to improve farmers' knowledge. The development of the module was carried out through a systematic process, including literature review, field needs analysis, expert validation, and user readability testing. The training module was designed in a digital format using an e-learning approach to increase accessibility and flexibility in learning. Validation was conducted by subject matter experts and media experts using structured assessment instruments. The results showed that the content validity scores reached 87.62% for content, 86.67% for layout, and 90.77% for language aspects, indicating high validity from a material perspective. Meanwhile, media experts rated the module with scores of 88.19% for display, 86.81% for material, and 89.17% for functional aspects, confirming its feasibility in terms of usability and design. The results of the analysis concluded that the training module is highly valid and suitable for use in agricultural training programs. It has the potential to support the dissemination of knowledge on sustainable organic fertilizer practices and enhance the competency of farmers through digital learning.

Abstract

Air dengan kualitas baik merupakan air yang mampu menunjang serta mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan dari organisme perairan yang dibudidayakan. Pakan yang diberikan selama pemeliharaan udang vaname akan berpengaruh terhadap nilai dari kualitas air pemeliharaan udang vaname. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis total suspended solid, bahan organik total dan alkalinitas pada akuarium pembesaran udang vaname dengan pemberian pakan maggot selama pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan pola Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan unit percobaan 1 kontrol (pakan komersil) dan 1 perlakuan (pakan maggot), selanjutnya masing-masing unit percobaan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 6 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai total padatan tersuspensi sebesar 68 - 143 mg/L, nilai total padatan tersuspensi tersebut terlalu tinggi, sedangkan nilai konsentrasi yang optimal untuk budidaya udang sebesar 25 mg/L. Nilai bahan organik total sebesar 63,29 – 75,10 mg/L, kisaran tersebut dapat dikatakan tidak  optimal untuk budidaya udang vaname, dikarenakan kisaran optimal bahan organik total pada budidaya udang vaname adalah < 55 mg/L. Nilai alkalinitas 81,20 – 197,59 mg/L tingkat alkalinitas sudah sesuai denhan nilai optimal alkalinitas yang berkisar 90-150 mg/L.

Abstract

Lokakarya disiplin positif ini bertujuan agar guru, kepala sekolah dan pengawas sekolah semakin memahami pentingnya disiplin positif dalam membangun budaya positif di sekolah. Metode yang diterapkan dalam lokakarya ini yaitu lokakarya secara luring dengan urutan aktivitas yaitu mulai dari pendahuluan, mulai dari diri, eksplorasi konsep, refleksi terbimbing, ruang kolaborasi, demonstrasi kontekstual dan aksi nyata. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan lokakarya disiplin positif ini sangat penting karena setelah mengikuti lokakarya terkait disiplin positif, maka guru, kepala sekolah dan pengawas sekolah semakin meningkatkan komitmennya dalam menerapkan disiplin positif di sekolah. Pada umumnya disiplin positif yang terjadi di sekolah sudah baik, namun dengan adanya lokakarya ini, maka sekolah memiliki referensi yang semakin banyak untuk diterapkan di sekolah berdasarkan hasil kolaborasi dengan sekolah lain dan hasil penguatan dari fasilitator pada saat dilaksanakannya lokakarya ini.

Abstract

The growth of catfish seeds can be influenced by many factors including high water and seed stocking density. The research objective was to analyze the effect of high air and stocking density of different fish on the growth and maintenance of Sangkuriang catfish fry. This type of quantitative research with an experimental approach. The research was an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. Data processing uses SPSS Version 22 with two-way ANOVA analysis if there are differences, it will be followed by Tukey HSD. The research analysis showed that there was an effect of varying stocking density treatments on the survival of fish fry and absolute growth, while the high air treatment only had an effect on the survival of Sangkuriang catfish fry. The research yielded a water height of 13 cm and a stocking density of 15 individuals/liter was the treatment with the highest survival rate for catfish seeds with a value of 74.4%, while for exclusive weight growth, the treatment was 10 cm water height and a stocking density of 15 individuals/liter of 0.94 g.

Abstract

The Daphnia sp. population can be increased using various types of organic fertilizers. This study aimed to analyze the effect of organic fertilizer vermicompost, quail feces, and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae compost on maintenance media on the growth of Daphnia sp. and identify the best dose. This research is an experimental study with a completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment K (control or no organic fertilizer), treatment A (addition of vermicompost organic fertilizer 2.4 g/l), treatment B (addition of quail feces organic fertilizer 2.4 g/l), treatment C (addition of fly larvae compost organic fertilizer 2.4 g/l). Water quality variables (temperatur, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), color, and odor). The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data were analyzed using SPSS 22. The results of this study showed that the provision of organic fertilizer through the maintenance media had an effect (P <0.05) on the growth of Daphnia sp. The highest population was in treatment A (Quail Feces dose of 2.4 g / L) as many as 353 tails and the lowest in treatment K (No Dose) as many as 132 tails. The results of the water quality analysis of the morning temperatur were in the range–26-28ºC. afternoon temperatur was obtained 27-28ºC, then for morning pH ranged from 7.1-7.5 and afternoon pH obtained 7.3-7.6 while the average DO obtained 6.8 mg/L. The best dose in this study was treatment A with organic fertilizer 2.4 g/l.
