Abstract

This study creates an online Decision Support System (DSS) using the TOPSIS algorithm to fairly choose outstanding teachers from vocational schools in Bekasi City, which has 87 state and private vocational secondary schools with about 62,000 students. To tackle the current biased selection process, our research uses a multi-criteria approach that looks at discipline (25%), travel costs (20%), personality (20%), teaching administration (15%), and learning achievements (20%). Targeting this substantial educational population, our research addresses the current subjective selection process by implementing a multi-criteria approach evaluating discipline (25%), travel costs (20%), personality (20%), teaching administration (15%), and learning achievements (20%). The TOPSIS method was selected for its proven effectiveness in ranking alternatives based on geometric distance from ideal solutions, particularly valuable in large-scale educational contexts. Analysis of 14 teacher candidates from SMK Bina Karya Mandiri demonstrated the system's precision, with Didi Saputra, S.Pdi, emerging as top-ranked (preference value: 0.63). When extrapolated to Bekasi's 87 SMKs, the model shows potential to standardize teacher assessment citywide, reducing regional disparities in recognition practices. The web-based platform enhances accessibility, allowing principals across 21 sub-districts to input localized data while maintaining centralized benchmarking. Key findings reveal (1) discipline and personality collectively account for 45% of exemplary status determination, (2) cost-related factors show inverse correlation with remote school nominations, and (3) system implementation could reduce selection time by ≈68% compared to manual methods. This study contributes both a scalable framework for educational DSS and empirical data on vocational teacher excellence criteria in urban Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology encourages UMKM to adopt digital solutions to improve business effectiveness. This study aims to design a web-based herbal medicine sales information system at UMKM Griya Jamoe Klasik using the Extreme Programming (XP) method and implementing the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) algorithm to analyze the best-selling herbal medicine products. The research approach used is quantitative descriptive, with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and questionnaires to 10 respondents over a period of one week. The criteria used in the analysis include price, taste, efficacy, and texture, each given a certain weight. The results of the SAW algorithm application show that the "Wedang Kencur" product is the best-selling herbal medicine with a preference value of 0.92, followed by "Wedang Mpon-mpon" at 0.85 and "Kunyit Asam" at 0.79. The system built is able to automate transaction recording, facilitate sales monitoring, and support accurate and fast data-based decision-making. This research contributes to increasing the competitiveness of UMKM in the digital era. Recommendations for further research are to expand the number of respondents, integrate online payment features, and develop mobile-based applications to reach a wider market.

Abstract

This study develops a web-based employee performance evaluation system using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to overcome the problem of inaccuracy and unfairness in reward giving at PT Transcosmos Commerce. The system is designed using an Agile approach with the Django framework and SQLite database. The AHP method is applied to calculate the weight of the assessment criteria (discipline, responsibility, productivity, work quality, and cooperation) through pairwise comparisons, resulting in a consistency ratio (CR) value of 0.08 less than 0.1, which indicates acceptable consistency. The results of the AHP calculation show that the highest criterion weight is Productivity (0.32), followed by Work Quality (0.25), Responsibility (0.18), Cooperation (0.15), and Discipline (0.10). The final employee score is obtained by combining the criteria weight and alternative values, with the highest scores obtained by employees A1 (Dani) of 0.42, A2 (Farhan) of 0.35, and A3 (Freya) of 0.23. System testing has proven an increase in evaluation time efficiency of 60 percent compared to manual methods, as well as reducing the subjectivity of assessments. The system also provides visualization of results in the form of graphs and automatic reports, facilitating managerial decision-making.Keywords: AHP, criteria weighting, evaluation of performence, employee reward, Web Based System.

Abstract

This study analyze the grammatical aspects of song lyrics “As It Was” by Harry Styles using Halliday and Hasan’s (1976) discourse analysis theory. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method with the lyrics as the primary data. The analysis focused on grammatical cohesion, namely 1) Reference, 2) Substitution, 3) Ellipsis, and 4) Conjunction. The results show that the lyrics are dominated by personal reference such as “you” (11 times) and “it” (21 times), which construct intimacy and emphasis on emotional conditions. Demonstrative reference such as “this” and “that” highlight the contrast between past and present situations. Comparative reference with the word “same” (7 times) strengthens the theme of inevitable change. Ellipsis appears through contractions like "don’t”, “it’s”, and “Holdin’”, which create a casual and personal tone. Conjunctions, though limited (e.g., “and”), maintain coherence. These grammatical devices contribute to expressing themes of change, longing, and personal struggle in the lyrics.
