Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMP ditinjau dari kecemasan matematika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D SMP Negeri 1 Sagaranten yang diambil sebanyak 9 orang menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang mewakili setiap kategori kecemasan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Hasil penelitian, subjek dengan kategori kecemasan rendah belum mampu menyelesaikan indikator pertama (kemampuan menggunakan berbagai angka dan symbol terkait dengan operasi pada bentuk aljabar), indikator kedua (kemampuan menganalisis informasi dari grafik, tabel, diagram dan bagan) dan indikator ketiga (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan). Subjek dengan kategori kecemasan sedang mampu menyelesaikan indikator ketiga saja (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil Keputusan). Subjek dengan kategori kecemasan tinggi belum mampu menyelesaikan indikator pertama (kemampuan menggunakan berbagai angka dan symbol terkait dengan operasi pada bentuk aljabar), indikator kedua (kemampuan menganalisis informasi dari grafik, tabel, diagram dan bagan) dan indikator ketiga (kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan).

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Literasi numerasi berperan dalam pengambilan keputusan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun kemampuan literasi numerasi di Indonesia belum berkembang. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil studi maupun penelitian terkait kemampuan literasi numerasi di Indonesia. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan literasi dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa khususnya pada kemampuan literasi numerasi. Metode: ceramah, tanya jawab, dan praktik. Hasil: Hasilnya, terdapat peningkatan tingkat partisipasi guru dalam kegiatan pelatihan dan evaluasi kegiatan sehingga dapat meningkatkan pencapaian kualitas lulusan peserta didik yang berdaya saing. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini dapat memberikan manfaat kepada kepada guru-guru dalam mengimplentasikan literasi numerasi dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa khususnya dalam penyusunan modul ajar yang sesuai dengan prinsip kurikulum merdeka.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving abilities are important to support the development of 4C skills (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, Creativity, and Innovation) in the 21st century. However, in reality, students' ability to solve problems is still relatively low and does not meet expectations. This research aims to identify students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving System of Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) problems. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collection through tests in the form of descriptions. The population of this study was all students in class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Sukabumi Regency, with a sample taken of 24 students from class VIII. The research results showed that the average student score was 34.5, with the majority of students being in the low category at 87.5%, and only a few students were able to reach the medium category with a percentage of 4.17% and high with a percentage of 8.33%. Analysis of the problem-solving stages shows that although 70.83% of students were able to understand the problem, 41.67% could plan the problem, only 12.5% succeeded in solving the problem, and 8.34% could check the solution. These results also show that the students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving System of Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) problems at this school are mostly in the low category and still need a lot of improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to compare students' critical thinking abilities by implementing the JUCAMA learning model assisted by GEMAS for junior high school students. The research method is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design with a Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The population in this study consists of all students from SMPN 12 Kota Sukabumi in the eighth grade during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 229 students. A sample was taken from the population of all eighth-grade students at SMPN 12 Kota Sukabumi using cluster random sampling. This, the sample for this study consists of 88 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 12 Kota Sukabumi, divided into two experimental classes and one control class. The data analysis technique used is ANOVA with a significance level of α=5%. This research employs an instrument for testing students' critical thinking abilities in the form of pretest and posttest questions, as well as non-test instruments such as observation sheets and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the JUCAMA model assisted by GEMAS is more effective than both the JUCAMA model and Discovery Learning in enhancing the critical thinking abilities of junior high school students.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran PhotoMath adalah media pembelajaran berbasis alat elektronik yang dapat digunakan di smarthphone untuk membantu siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Saat ini, pembelajaran online yang tidak terikat tempat dan waktu yang didukung oleh kegiatan interaktif sangatlah penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana PhotoMath mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Sukabumi dengan menggunakan model Discovery Learning yang didukung PhotoMath. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode quasi eksperimental, penelitian ini melibatkan 112 siswa kelas VII yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Hasil perbandingan pada analisis data pretest dan posttest menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PhotoMath dalam pembelajaran Discovery Learning secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan dengan siswa yang hanya mengikuti Discovery Learning saja. Penemuan ini menyoroti efektivitas teknologi pendidikan seperti PhotoMath dalam meningkatkan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan analitis siswa, serta potensinya untuk mendukung hasil akademik secara menyeluruh. Studi masa depan dapat mengeksplorasi cara-cara untuk lebih mengoptimalkan model ini dalam konteks pendidikan yang berbeda, untuk memperkaya pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study investigatesd the challenges of online mathematics education in Indonesian elementary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed critical limitations in digital learning delivery. The research aimed to identify the most difficult mathematical topics to teach online, explore the effectiveness of digital tools used by teachers, and provide strategic recommendations. Using a cross-sectional survey method, the study involved elementary school teachers from various regions in Indonesia. Data were collected via a structured questionnaire containing both closed- and open-ended items, then analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings showed that mathematics was the most challenging subject to teach online due to difficulties in demonstrating abstract concepts like geometry, fractions, and 3D figures. Teachers also faced obstacles in student engagement, timely feedback, and access to interactive teaching media. Video conferencing tools were most frequently used, followed by learning management systems and messaging apps. The study concluded that online mathematics learning required substantial improvement in terms of instructional design and teacher support. It was recommended that policymakers and schools invest in developing interactive, media-rich learning resources and provide training programs to enhance teacher readiness for future online or blended learning environments.

Abstract

This study examines the arithmetic used by Sundanese people, especially in several regions in Sukabumi Regency, as a cultural heritage that can be used for activities in daily life using specific patterns. Some traditional societies in the Sunda region are still closely related to the beliefs adopted and passed down from their ancestors. This study aims to determine the mathematical material in the élmu palak count, especially in repok countinging pattern (match count of matchmaking before marriage). The method used in this study is the ethnographic method with a qualitative approach and a gradually advanced research flow. The subjects used in this study are limited to five people from different sub-districts determined using purposive sampling technique. The study found that there are a variety of counting patterns, but in general, the calculation elements consist of the name and/or day of birth. Other than that, there is relevance to high school mathematics material, one of which is the material relations and functions, residual theorem, and modulo.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa berbasis POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP dengan kategori valid, praktis dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitan dilakukan kepada 30 siswa kelas VII MTs. Darussa’adah. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi oleh ahli materi dan evaluasi pembelarajan untuk mengetahui validitas LKS berbasis POE, angket respon siswa untuk mengetahui kepraktisan LKS berbasis POE serta lembar pretest dan posttest untuk mengetahui keefektifan LKS berbasis POE. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Validasi oleh ahli materi dan evaluasi pembelajaran menyatakan LKS berbasis POE termasuk dalam kategori Sangat Valid dan layak diuji coba. (2) Berdasarkan hasil analisis N-Gain mendapatkan persentase 71,327 % dan analisis ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 80 % menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. (3) Berdasarkan angket respon siswa dihasilkan respon bahwa LKS berbasis POE masuk dalam kategori Praktis

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' errors in solving math problem solving based on Newman's theory. This research method is qualitative with a case study approach. The subjects of this study were 18 students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year who took Mathematics courses. Data related to student errors according to Newman's theory were obtained from tests and interviews to identify the types of errors made by students, which included errors in reading, understanding, transformation, process skills, and writing the final answer. Subjects were taken using purposive sampling technique and data validation using method triangulation. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study showed that the most student errors made were process errors as much as 32.97% with fairly high criteria followed by errors in writing the final answer as much as 29.67%, transformation errors as much as 27.47% which were included in the criteria quite high and the last error understanding the problem as much as 9.89% with very low criteria. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that students should practice more independently working on problems, especially story problems. In addition, before working on the problem, students should first write down the complete information in the problem.
