Abstract

Multilingualism is becoming increasingly prominent among Generation Z, who are growing up amid globalization and digital technological advancement. While many studies have separately examined language shift or language maintenance, few have specifically explored the relationship between multilingual practices among Generation Z and the preservation of regional languages, particularly in linguistically diverse areas such as South Sulawesi. This study aims to describe the patterns of first, second, and third language use among Generation Z and explore their connection to language maintenance efforts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews with 60 respondents aged 18–20 from various regions in South Sulawesi. The findings reveal that 63.3% of respondents use Indonesian as their first language, followed by Bugis (18.3%), Makassarese (15%), and others. For the second language, respondents tend to use regional languages, while English dominates as the third language (65%). These results indicate a shift in regional languages from the position of mother tongue to second or third language. However, there is still evidence of preservation efforts through the use of regional languages within family and social settings. These findings provide a foundation for the formulation of linguistic and educational policies that promote regional language revitalization, and they enrich theoretical understanding of multilingual dynamics in the digital era. ABSTRAK Multilingualisme merupakan fenomena yang semakin menonjol di kalangan Generasi Z yang hidup di tengah arus globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi digital. Meskipun banyak penelitian membahas pergeseran bahasa atau pemertahanan bahasa secara terpisah, masih sedikit yang mengkaji hubungan antara praktik multilingualisme Generasi Z dan pelestarian bahasa daerah, khususnya di wilayah dengan keragaman bahasa seperti Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pola penggunaan bahasa pertama, kedua, dan ketiga di kalangan Generasi Z serta mengeksplorasi keterkaitannya dengan upaya pemertahanan bahasa daerah. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data diperoleh melalui observasi, angket, dan wawancara terhadap 60 responden usia 18–20 tahun dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 63,3% responden menggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pertama, disusul Bugis (18,3%), Makassar (15%), dan lainnya. Sebagai bahasa kedua, responden cenderung menggunakan bahasa daerah, sementara bahasa Inggris dominan sebagai bahasa ketiga (65%). Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya pergeseran bahasa daerah dari posisi bahasa ibu menjadi bahasa kedua atau ketiga. Namun, tetap terdapat indikasi upaya pelestarian melalui penggunaan bahasa daerah dalam lingkungan keluarga dan sosial. Temuan ini memberikan dasar bagi perumusan kebijakan linguistik dan pendidikan yang mendorong revitalisasi bahasa daerah, serta memperkaya pemahaman teoretis tentang dinamika multilingualisme di era digital.

Abstract

Masyarakat dan lingkungan merupakan elemen penting bagi kehidupan manusia. Manusia sebagai mahluk sosial menyadarai akan pentingnya sebuah lingkungan masyarakat bagi perkembangan sebuah tempat, akan tetapi pada kenyataan dilapangan menjelaskan bahwa indonesia khususnya wilayah-wilayah yang ada di negri ini masih memiliki masalah serius terkait permasalahan kesadaran masyarakat akan lingkungan di sekitarnya. Salah satu desa yang memiliki masalah karena kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat teradap lingkunga adalah Desa Bojong Indah khususnya di RW/RT 004/15 kecamatan Parung kabupaten Bogor. Hal ini karena didesa tersebut masih kurangnya kesadara dan sarana prasarana tentang pemberdayaan lingkungan, yang menjadi perhatian adalah dengan kondisi desa yang berada diwilayah perkotaan dengan tingkat polusi yang tinggi dan kurangnya sarana atau fasilitas yang mendukung pelaksanaan pemberdayaan lingkungan. Pemberdayaan masyarakat dan lingkungan dalam rangka meningkatkan pola hidup sehat yang diusung dalam kegiatan ini adalah : (1) menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga lingkungan sektar, (2) melakukan penyuluhan dan aktivitas untuk menjaga lingkungan dalam masyarakat, (3) pengadaan sarana prasarana untuk mendukung terselenggarannya pola hidup sehat di masyarakat (4) pengarahan secara berkala di sisipkan pada aktivitas religius. Hasil yang dicapai adalah masyarakat memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya lingkungan yang aman dan nyaman untuk mendukung pola hidup sehat dan masyarakat mempunyai sarana prasarana dalam menjaga lingkungan sekitarnya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the form and function of expressive speech acts in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang sub-district, Takalar district. The aim of this research is to determine and describe the form and function of expressive speech acts in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang sub-district, Takalar district. It is hoped that this research can become a very important reference and increase insight in the context of improving regional language learning, especially pragmatics in determining the form and function of speech acts. The data source in this research is conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency. The method used in this research is the listening method, this method describes the forms and functions contained in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency. Based on research conducted, 6 forms and functions were found in conversations among teenagers in the Kalabbirang subdistrict, Takalar district, which included saying thank you, congratulating, apologizing, blaming, praising and sarcasm.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types and functions of illocutional speech contained in mineral water accounts on YouTube social media. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative research design. The data source in this study came from eight advertisements consisting of four mineral water brands on YouTube social media. The data analysis used is a pragmatic approach that is carried out in detail, starting from data identification, data classification, analyzing and interpreting data, and concluding. The data from the research was obtained by grouping illocutional speech actions in the form of words, phrases, and sentences contained in mineral water advertisements. The results of the study revealed that there are five types of illocution speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. The functions found consist of the actions of reporting, affirming, predicting, claiming, acknowledging, complaining, statements, asking, commanding, suggesting, persuasive requests, offers, promises, astonishment speeches, greetings of hospitality, and announcements. These findings show that speech in advertising plays an important role in building persuasiveness and brand image on social media.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the forms of code-switching and code-mixing during the Indonesian language learning process of seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Nunukan. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method applying a sociolinguistic approach. The data used includes students' and teachers' utterances in the learning process that contain elements of code-switching and code-mixing. The subjects of this study include students and teachers. The techniques used to obtain data include field observations and interviews. Meanwhile, the triangulation technique is used to validate the data. Data analysis techniques include reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show findings of code-switching and code-mixing in learning. Metaphorical and situational code-switching was found, as well as code-switching from Indonesian to Malay and from Malay to Indonesian. On the other hand, there were five findings of code-mixing, including the insertion of words that have meaning and can be used for communication. Phrases, which are a combination of two or more words that form a single unit of meaning in a sentence. Clauses, grammatical units. Word repetition, repetition in whole or in part, and idioms/expressions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the satirical language style by Elsa Japasal in the YouTube channel "Main Hakim Sendiri". The style of satirical language is used to express or express criticism or satire of certain events. Elsa Japasal uses a satirical style wrapped in comedy as a form of criticism of social and political issues. In this study, researchers took 10 videos of the YouTube channel of the "Main Hakim Sendiri" event. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. The objectives of this study are: 1) to describe the forms of Elsa Jaarticle's satirical language style that appear in the YouTube channel of the show "Main Hakim Sendiri"; and 2) describe the function of using Elsa Japasal satirical style in conveying criticism in the "Playing Judge Itself" event. In this study, as many as 12 data were obtained in the form of satirical language style sentences consisting of 4 humor satire and 8 ironic satire forms. The results of the study show that there are two main forms of satirical language styles, namely 4 data in the form of humor and 8 data in the form of irony. Both forms function as a means of entertainment as well as a corrective media for the social and political issues raised. These findings show that the style of satirical language plays an important role in building people's critical awareness of social reality through digital media.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini diharapkan menambah pengetahuan dan pengalaman guru di SMAS YAPIP Sungguminasa tentang pembuatan lembar kerja siswa melalui aplikasi Teachshare AI. Sebanyak 18 guru dilatih membuat akun di Teachshare AI, memulai langkah awal pembuatan lembar kerja, hingga mengunduh lembar kerja yang telah mereka buat. Selain itu, guru-guru juga dilatih membuat rubrik penilaian, dan grafik perkembangan hasil belajar siswa. Meskipun tidak semua peserta berhasil membuat lembar kerja siswa dengan baik, para guru di  SMAS YAPIP Sungguminasa sudah mampu mengetahui langkah-langkah proses pembuatannya.Kata kunci: LKS, guru, Teachshare AI

Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the expository text writing skills of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo before using the inquiry learning model; (2) describe the expository text writing skills of Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo after using the inquiry learning model; (3) prove the effect of using the inquiry learning model on exposition text writing skills for Class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo. The type of research used is quantitative research using the Pre-Experimental method. The data collection technique in this research is a task that is divided into Pretest and Posttest. The population of this research was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo which consisted of 3 classes with a total of 90 students and the sample was taken using the Simple Random Sampling Technique, so the researcher determined the research sample to be 73 students using the Krejcie and Morgan tables. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The learning outcomes of expository text writing skills before using the inquiry learning model for Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo are in the less skilled category with an average score of 55. The learning outcomes for expository text writing skills after using the inquiry learning model for Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo, is in the skilled category with an average score of 81. Based on the Paired Sample Test in the t test above, it is known that the significant value = 0.000 from 73 students. The value is 0.000< 0.05, so it can be stated that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, thus it can be concluded that the use of the Inquiry Learning model for writing expository texts for Class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Marioriwawo has a significant effect.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut guru memiliki kemampuan literasi media dan penulisan kreatif agar dapat beradaptasi dengan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Namun sebagian guru di SMP Amannagappa Makassar masih menghadapi kendala dalam memanfaatkan media digital secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam penulisan dan literasi media digital melalui pelatihan berbasis aplikasi Canva. Metode pelaksanaannya meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik langsung, pendampingan, dan evaluasi hasil karya. Sebanyak 20 guru mengikuti pelatihan dengan antusias dan mampu menghasilkan berbagai produk pembelajaran digital berupa poster, infografis, serta presentasi interaktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan guru dalam menulis konten edukatif yang komunikatif dan mendesain media pembelajaran yang menarik serta relevan dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan ini juga membangkitkan kesadaran pentingnya kolaborasi antarguru dan literasi digital dalam menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran yang kreatif dan adaptif.
