Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the phonological interference form of speech of former migrant workers in Tanah Eja Hamlet, Bulukumba Regency; and (2) describe the form of semantic interference of former migrant workers' speech in Tanah Eja hamlet, Bulukumba Regency. This type of research is qualitative research. This research was conducted in Tanah Eja hamlet, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. The focus of this research and the limitations of this research include tuturain kaita that experience interference, then studied in the semaintic category that is only related to lexical meaning. As for the phonological category, three types of phonological interference will be focused, namely phonological interference, phoneme changes, phoneme addition, and phoneme reduction / removal interference. The source of this research data was obtained by dairi haisil waiwaincairai laingsung maintain TKI in Tainaih Ejai Kaibupaiten Bulukumba hamlet. Data collection techniques through interview techniques, voice recording techniques, listening techniques and recording techniques. The research instrument consists of the main instrument is the researcher himself and supporting instruments include voice recorders, respondent biodata questionnaires, and interference data tables.The results revealed that from the results of direct interview research 15 respondents contained a total of 35 words phonological interference. The most abundant and frequent data is the category of changes in vowel phonemes in the middle of words. In addition, respondents were shown to experience semantic interference by obtaining 15 forms of conversation and 28 types of words that experienced interference, this conversation was quoted during structured and semi-structured interviews of former migrant workers in Tanah Eja hamlet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental design) dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model STAD dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen (82,7) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (74,5), dengan peningkatan yang lebih signifikan. Uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok (p < 0,05), membuktikan bahwa model STAD lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Model ini memungkinkan interaksi aktif, diskusi, dan umpan balik yang konstruktif, sehingga meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa dalam menulis teks eksplanasi. Oleh karena itu, STAD direkomendasikan sebagai metode pembelajaran yang efektif dalam pengajaran menulis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) dalam Pembelajaran Menyimak Dongeng “Appinakna Rupama” Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 4 Takalar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII berjumlah 78 orang yang tersebar kedalam 3 kelas. Sampel yang ditetapkan sebanyak 24 siswa SMPN 4 Takalar. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes menyimak dongeng “appinaknak rupama”. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan menyinmak dongeng “appinaknak rupama” telah mencapai kriteria yaitu 75% yang menunjukkan bahwa sampel yang memperoleh nilai 75-95 berjumlah 14 siswa (78,8%) dan sampel yang memperoleh nilai 0-69 berjumlah 10 siswa (21,2%). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) dalam pembelajaran menyimak dongeng “Appinakna Rupama” siswa kelas VII SMPN 4 Takalar Kabupaten Takalar dinyatakan efektif.

Abstract

Abstract. The lack of understanding regarding affixation can lead to errors in word usage, resulting in ambiguity in the meaning of their academic writing. This study aims to thoroughly examine how students comprehend affixation in the Indonesian language, the factors influencing that understanding, and the challenges they face in applying it in academic communication. The type of research employed is descriptive qualitative, focusing on the collection and analysis of in-depth data regarding students' understanding of affixation. The sample for this study consists of 68 students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education programme at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, text analysis, and direct classroom observations. Data analysis is conducted through thematic analysis to identify key themes related to the understanding of affixation. The results indicate that the application of affixation in students' academic writing still reveals errors in affix usage, the use of confixes, and the writing of affixes and prepositions. Several factors influencing students' understanding of affixation can be observed from cognitive, pedagogical, and learning environment aspects. Various teaching strategies have proven effective in enhancing students' engagement, conceptual understanding, and analytical skills regarding the structure of affixes in the Indonesian language, including contextual approaches, project-based learning, digital technology, and collaborative methods. This research reinforces the fact that mastery of morphology, particularly affixation, remains a significant challenge in students' academic writing. This necessitates a more applied, contextual, and error-based approach to teaching morphology that addresses the common mistakes encountered.Keywords: affixation, morphology, learning strategies

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi berbahasa Bugis berbasis media infografis pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Bungoro, Kabupaten Pangkep. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan populasi 239 siswa dan sampel 144 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes tertulis dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi berbahasa Bugis berbasis infografis berada pada kategori tidak terampil. Dari 144 siswa, sebanyak 45 orang (31%) mencapai nilai ≥75, sementara 99 orang (69%) memperoleh nilai <75. Rendahnya keterampilan ini terlihat dari capaian siswa pada empat aspek penilaian, yaitu struktur teks deskripsi, kaidah kebahasaan, penggunaan ejaan, dan kerapian. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya penguatan strategi pembelajaran menulis berbasis media visual untuk meningkatkan kompetensi menulis dalam bahasa daerah.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan presentasi ilmiah bagi kelompok guru Bahasa Indonesia di Batu-Batu, Kabupaten Soppeng, Sulawesi Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam melakukan presentasi ilmiah masih kurang menarik dan efektif. Guru-guru cenderung hanya membaca bahan presentasi tanpa menggunakan teknik presentasi yang tepat. Kegiatan PKM ini dirancang untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan memberikan pelatihan yang mencakup penyajian materi, demonstrasi, praktik presentasi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Materi yang diberikan meliputi persiapan materi presentasi, teknik penempatan teks, pemilihan warna, bentuk dan ukuran huruf, penggunaan ilustrasi, tampilan slide, serta penggunaan suara dan animasi. Selain itu, teknik penyajian materi secara efektif juga diajarkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah praktik langsung oleh peserta yang kemudian dievaluasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menyajikan presentasi ilmiah. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan menyampaikan presentasi ilmiah. Para guru tidak hanya memahami teknik-teknik dasar dalam pembuatan slide yang menarik dan informatif, tetapi juga mampu menerapkan strategi komunikasi verbal yang lebih efektif, sehingga presentasi yang dilakukan lebih interaktif dan menarik perhatian audiens. Selain itu, evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rasa percaya diri di kalangan guru dalam menyampaikan materi secara ilmiah. Dampak positif jangka panjang dari kegiatan ini sangat signifikan. Dengan keterampilan presentasi ilmiah yang lebih baik, guru-guru diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran mereka, terutama dalam menyampaikan materi secara lebih sistematis dan menarik. Hal ini juga berpotensi meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas, karena guru akan lebih mampu memfasilitasi diskusi dan interaksi yang lebih dinamis dengan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the communication skills of children with Down syndrome at Selayar State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri Selayar). This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects were children with Down syndrome identified as experiencing communication barriers. Data analysis techniques used in this study included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that children with Down syndrome at Selayar State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri Selayar) are better able to communicate nonverbally than verbally. The verbal communication skills of children with Down syndrome at Selayar State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri Selayar) are still relatively low. Children communicate more frequently nonverbally through touch, chronemics, body movements, and facial expressions. Among these nonverbal communication skills, there is still one form of communication that they have not yet mastered: chronemics, or the ability to manage time when speaking. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to serve as evaluation material and references in analyzing communication skills, particularly in children with Down syndrome.

Abstract

The general purpose of this study is to analyze the politeness of language of legislative candidates in podcasts on Tribun Timur.com. The data collection method used is a qualitative description method. Qualitative research generally adopts a case study design that focuses on a particular phenomenon to be understood while other phenomena are ignored. The results of this study indicate that the politeness of language of legislative candidates in the Tribun Timur.com podcast more often adheres to maxims, especially in terms of generosity, wisdom, and agreement. Based on the analysis of the data found, it can be concluded that the politeness of language of legislative candidates in the Tribun Timur.com podcast adheres to maxims more than those who do not, especially in terms of generosity, wisdom, and agreement.

Abstract

This study examines the icons, indexes, symbols of a tradition and aims to describe the symbolic form and reveal the symbolic meaning contained in the a’barumbung tradition in the Makassar traditional wedding procession in Pallangga Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using Charles Sander Pierce's semiotic analysis. The data for this study are in the form of icons, indexes, symbols contained in the a’barumbung tradition during the Makassar traditional wedding procession in Pallangga District, Gowa Regency, especially in Pallangga Village. The data source for this study is the a’barumbung procession and anrong bunting who have extensive knowledge about a’barumbung or the bride and groom who have performed a’barumbung. The data collection techniques used in this study are direct observation, interview techniques, and documentation techniques.The results of the research show that the icons in the a'barumbung procession are: 1) Leko' (leaf) means hope, the index in the a'barumbung procession: 2) A'barumbung (steam bath) means maintaining purity and cleansing, 3) Diromo' (wrapped) means purifying, protecting, making happy, the symbols in the a'barumbung process: 4) Uring (pan) means listening to advice, 5) Je'ne (water) means the source of human life, 6) Kadera (chair) means broad-minded, 7) Berasa' (rice) means developing well, 8) taibani (candle) means a lamp to provide light for life, 9) Golla eja (brown sugar) means giving happiness, 10) Kaluku (coconut) means a harmonious life, 11) Tappere' (mat) means mutual respect, 12) Lipa' bate' (batik sarong) means persistence, 13) Salimu' (blanket) means selfesteem, 14) Javanese Kanre (cake) means human nature.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the linguistic style of Kiky Saputri irony and sarcasm in the show “Lapor Pak”; describe the meaning of Kiky Saputri's language style of irony and sarcasm in the show "Lapor Pak". This research uses qualitative research with qualitative descriptive methods. The research results showed that Kiky Saputri used 4 verbal irony data and 2 situational irony data in the "Lapor Pak" broadcast. Apart from that, there are 2 data of action sarcasm, 3 data of sarcasm as a result of action, 2 data of appeal sarcasm, and 2 data of epithet sarcasm. The meaning of the language styles of irony and sarcasm includes criticism, ridicule, satire, as well as conveying messages directly or indirectly, including criticism of someone's quote or statement. The conclusion of this research is that the dominant language style used by Kiky Saputri is the form of verbal irony and sarcasm resulting from actions. The use of irony and sarcasm is effective in criticizing social and political issues, and has a strong and memorable impact on the audience.
