Abstract

The development of digital technology has made artificial intelligence an integral part of higher education. While its use by university students provides many benefits in supporting academic activities, there are also concerns about its negative impact, especially in relation to academic integrity, dependability, and critical thinking skills. This research aims to identify the positive and negative impacts of the use of artificial intelligence by university students as well as the challenges faced in the context of higher education. The method used was Systematic Literature Review with the PRISMA approach. The total population of articles obtained was 200 articles. Scientific articles were sourced from the Scopus database published between 2022 and 2025. Articles were screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and assessed using the CASP (Critical Appraisal Skills Programme) approach, resulting in 19 articles that could be analysed. The results showed that artificial intelligence can improve learning efficiency, strengthen concept understanding, and support student creativity and problem solving. However, there are serious risks such as plagiarism, dissemination of inaccurate information, and decreased motivation to learn independently. Lack of regulation and digital literacy are factors that exacerbate these negative impacts. Therefore, it is important for higher education institutions to urgently create policies for the ethical use of artificial intelligence and provide comprehensive digital literacy training to students. This research provides a scientific basis for policy makers to optimise the benefits of artificial intelligence while mitigating the risks of its use in academia.

Abstract

Garbage is one of the problems that we often encounter in the community. One of the factors causing the accumulation of garbage is the lack of public awareness to dispose of garbage in its place. In this problem, it is necessary to have a smart trash can using sound information media which includes Ultrasonic Sensors as distance detectors and trash volume detectors, Servos are used to control the trash can cover, Speakers are used as information media, DFPlayer mini is used as a voice recorder and microcontrollers are used as input data processors from the components used. The trash can cover will open and close automatically by detecting humans at a distance of ≤ 30 cm then detecting the height of the trash from the trash can cover ≤ 10 cm then the trash can is full then the trash can cover will not open and emit information in the form of sound. The method used in this study is the experimental method, namely by designing, assembling, and testing a smart trash can system based on Arduino Uno. Testing was conducted to evaluate the performance of the sensor, and the voice module in responding to the presence of objects in front of the trash can. This research is useful for the community because it can increase awareness in disposing of garbage in its place through an interactive approach in the form of sound, thus supporting the creation of a cleaner and more orderly environment. In addition, scientifically, this research contributes to the development of science and technology, especially in the field of hardware that can be used as a basis for similar innovations in various fields of life.

Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based garden monitoring system designed to assist in the automatic supervision of plantation areas. The problem addressed is the difficulty in detecting the movement of pest animals in real time; therefore, this study aims to build a system capable of detecting, recording, and sending rapid movement notifications to users via a Telegram BOT. The method used is an experimental approach involving the design and testing of a system consisting of an ESP32 microcontroller as the control center, a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor as a motion detector, an ESP32-Cam module as an image capture device, and a buzzer as an audio indicator. The research results show that the developed system works effectively in detecting the movement of animals or other objects, automatically capturing images, and transmitting monitoring results in real time through Telegram. The synthesis of these findings indicates that the integration of PIR sensors and ESP32-Cam provides an efficient solution for IoT-based garden security systems. It is concluded that this system not only improves the effectiveness of garden monitoring but also has potential for further development in terms of accuracy, detection intelligence, and integration with other monitoring systems.
