Abstract

This research aimed to analyse the influence of Sharia compliance, size, and complexities on fraud in Sharia Banking. The method applied in this study was quantitatively associated. The research design is based on an associative quantitative approach. Data were collected during the Sharia banking period from to 2015-2019. The data analysis was completed using a panel information regression approach and processed using the Eviews 9 application. In this study, the compliance rate of Sharia banks was measured using the profit-sharing ratio (PSR), Islamic investment ratio (IIR), and Islamic income ratio (IsIR). Size is measured using the logarithm of natural (Ln) total assets and complexities are measured using the square root of the number of offices inside Sharia banks. The object of this analysis is Sharia banking in Indonesia. Sampling was performed using a specific purposive sampling procedure to obtain data from nine Syariah Banking from to 2015-2019. The results of this study indicate that Sharia compliance (PSR, IIR, and IsIR), size, and complexity simultaneously have a significant effect on fraud in Sharia banks with probability levels of 0.0002 and 0.0237. In part, size and complexity have significantly positive effects on fraud. Sharia banks have probability levels of 0.1056, 0.7866, and 0.3817 for compliance (PSR, IIR, and IsIR, respectively).

Abstract

Zakat is the third pillar of Islam. Zakat must meet the requirements of meeting the nisab. The potential for zakat in Indonesia reaches IDR 233.8 trillion, but its realization has only reached IDR 10.2 trillion. This study aims to measure the transparency index of zakat management entities in three dimensions: financial transparency, management, and programs. This study quantitatively measured using a descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires from zakat management entities, namely Dompet Dhuafa, Indonesian Zakat Initiative, and Baitulmaal Muamalat. The data were processed using a multistage weight index model. A non-probability sampling approach with purposive sampling was used for the sample selection. This study indicates that the transparency index values of the three LAZs are in the transparent category. The Indonesian Zakat Initiative (n=0.90), Baitulmaal Muamalat (n=0.85), and Dompet Dhuafa (n=0.83). Initiative Zakat Indonesia (IZI) obtained the highest index value in the financial dimension. Baitulmaal Muamalat obtained the highest index value in the financial dimension. Dompet Dhuafa obtained the highest index value in the management dimension. Thus, the three LAZs must continue to maintain and increase the value of the transparency index to maintain a good zakat management entity

Abstract

This study aims to compare the Murabahah and Musyarakah models regarding homeownership financing. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive, comparative, and literature study approach. The results of this study indicate that Murabahah and Musyarakah contracts can be used to finance home ownership. In-home financing using Murabahah and Musyarakah contracts has similarities, including the type of sharia financing. The Financial Accounting Standards Statement (PSAK) used is also included in the sharia standard. The difference between the two home financing contracts is that the Murabahah contract uses PSAK No. 102. Then the Musyarakah contract uses PSAK No. 106. The relationship between the bank and the customer in the Murabahah contract is between the seller and the buyer, while in the Musyarakah contract, it is a partnership. Installments in the Murabahah contract use fixed costs. Meanwhile, the Musyarakah contract will decrease from year to year. In the Murabahah contract, the house's value is the purchase price plus margin, while in the Musyarakah contract, it is according to the purchase price. The transfer of ownership rights in a Murabahah contract begins at the contract's start. In contrast, in a Musyarakah contract, the transfer of ownership rights is carried out in stages according to the installments.

Abstract

Approximately 1.4 billion of the world's population lives on less than USD 1 per day, and since 50% of the poorest people are in Muslim countries, the solution is to increase successful Muslim entrepreneurs. Hence, this study aims to create a conceptual model through a literature review and descriptive-qualitative approach. These were employed to determine the indicators of successful Muslim entrepreneurs and the expected factors required to provide a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, four factors and indicators, each considered to influence successful Muslim entrepreneurs, were identified. Subsequently, the results obtained were conceptual papers and hypotheses that required testing to ensure correctness. It was also used to produce new constructs validated for the individuals and communities of Muslim entrepreneurs. Therefore, this conceptual model is hoped to motivate new, future research and has also been enhanced as a pioneer that has attempted to construct a model for successful Muslim entrepreneurs. Finally, a conceptual model was created, which is the initial contribution to solving poverty among the Muslim population in the world..

Abstract

Qardhawi's opinion on the 2009 zakah disbursement model related to the empowerment of productive aṣnāf has encouraged the development of productive zakah in poverty alleviation. This study aims to examine the effect of intentions, opportunities, and resources on successful aṣnāf entrepreneurs. The method used is the mono method, namely quantitative research. Data was obtained through a survey using purposive sampling. Primary data were examined using the PLS-SEM method and the SmartPLS application. This study found that the intention and opportunity factors had a positive and significant effect on the success of aṣnāf entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, resources have a negative impact on the success of aṣnāf entrepreneurs. This is evidence that the zakah resources given to aṣnāf entrepreneurs must be optimized so that they can have a significant impact. This finding provides recommendations to zakah management entities and policy makers to be able to increase the contribution of zakah funds in poverty alleviation through the aṣnāf entrepreneurial program.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB), self-efficacy, and compensation on teacher loyalty within the context of non-formal education in Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design with a descriptive approach, data were collected from non-formal education teachers working at Learning Activity Studios (Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar, or SKB) across Indonesia. Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used for data analysis, processed through SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that both OCB and remuneration have a statistically significant positive effect on teacher loyalty. Additionally, self-efficacy also positively contributes to teacher loyalty, although to a lesser extent. These results highlight the critical role of internal psychological and organisational factors in fostering commitment among non-formal education teachers. It is recommended that SKB managers enhance supportive work environments that promote citizenship behaviour and self-efficacy. Furthermore, government policies should reinforce fair and sustainable remuneration systems to strengthen teacher loyalty and ensure the continued quality of non-formal education services in Indonesia.
