Abstract

This study aims to explore the phenomena experienced by Lecturers and Students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program in online learning during the Covid-19 period. The research method is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews with five lecturers and eight students. Interview data was then analyzed within-case and cross-case. Researchers identified two problems related to what lecturers and students experienced in online learning: (1) barriers to using online learning media and (2) obstacles in presenting material and using learning methods. The results showed the lecturers' attitude in carrying out online learning was good by creating a fun online learning atmosphere. Unfortunately, the material provided was not understood by students. They complained about the material and its delivery by the lecturers. It was because the lecturers only provided material and assignments through e-learning. In addition, they only used discussion forums on e-learning to communicate. The researchers also identified that quota and internet network errors were the main problems encountered in online learning. This research can be used as material for evaluating the implementation of online academic activities, especially in language learning of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program. Data validity used member checks, triangulation, and peer debriefing.

Abstract

There is a pressing need for professional Indonesian language teachers to enhance the learning experience for foreign speakers. This study focuses on examining language errors in BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) learners' essay writing, particularly in terms of punctuation placement, sentence structure, word choice, and the factors contributing to these errors. A qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as document analysis and Voice Note (VN) recordings via WhatsApp. The primary data sources included essays from BIPA students in Timor Leste and voice recordings of BIPA teachers in Timor Leste. The study identified several language errors in the students' essays, including improper use of punctuation, incorrect word choice, and ineffective sentence structure. The researchers also uncovered several factors causing these errors: language and cultural gaps, insufficient learning resources and teaching staff, and inadequacies in the curriculum and foreign language learning policies. The implications of the research findings for BIPA learning are significant. To improve learning outcomes, it is essential to make learning resources more engaging and accessible. Additionally, addressing the gap between the targeted curriculum and student needs can be achieved by regularly evaluating and adjusting the language learning curriculum. Providing training to teachers and facilitating educators with a strong background in Indonesian language education are crucial steps to help BIPA students overcome their learning difficulties. These measures will contribute to a more effective and supportive learning environment for BIPA students.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is how to explore the phenomenology of daily Palembang language. This study aims to analyze the phonetic transcription of Palembang language (Baso Palembang Sari-Sari) using the General Linguistic Theory proposed by Chaer. Through an analysis of various everyday expressions in Palembang, such as greetings, expressing gratitude, saying goodbye, apologizing, introducing oneself, and family terms, this research identifies phonetic and phonological differences between Palembang and Standard Indonesian. The Palembang Sari-Sari language was chosen due to its uniqueness as a regional language widely used in daily interactions in Palembang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data sources were obtained from recordings of conversations between the author and native speakers of Palembang, based on foreign language learning syllabi and Palembang language dictionary documents. The data validity check technique used was peer debriefing. From the conversations, 29 Palembang Sari-Sari vocabulary items were obtained. Additionally, 60 Palembang Sari-Sari vocabulary items were found in the document analysis. Some distinctive features of the Palembang language identified include the use of diphthongs, voiced velar fricative [ɣ], open vowels [ɔ] and [ɛ], and the characteristic glottal stop [ʔ]. This phonetic analysis also reflects how these phonological variations relate to the Palembang language's more relaxed and informal structure. The findings of this study provide insights into the phonological practices of regional languages, which are essential to explore further in the context of applied linguistics. This research is expected to serve as a reference for learning regional languages, particularly for foreign speakers interested in exploring the diversity of the Indonesian language.

Abstract

Pemerintah terus berupaya meningkatkan angka literasi di Indonesia, salah satunya dengan melalui  Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) yang menyelenggarakan program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Salah satu program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) adalah Kampus Mengajar yaitu kegiatan pengabdian mahasiswa kepada masyarakat dengan tujuan meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa terutama pada sekolah dengan akreditasi B pada daerah tertinggal, terluar, dan terdepan. Adapun penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri 166 Palembang di Jl. Rimba Kemuning Lr. Buyut RT 24 RW 3, Ario Kemuning, Kecamatan Kemuning, Kota Palembang, Provinsi Sumatra Selatan. Metode yang digunakan pada program ini menggunakan Pendekatan PKM dengan Participatory Action Reasearch (PAR). Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terlaksananya program di antaranya, Ayo Ke Perpustakaan, Jendela Informasi, Lintasan Literasi Anak (Litera), Layar Ceria, dan Perpustakaan Keliling. Dengan adanya program tersebut, tingkat literasi siswa meningkat ditandai dengan lebih aktifnya siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar, meningkatnya kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan, dan lebih bersemangat dalam membaca buku.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan sebagai upaya program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis berita dengan unsur-unsur 5W + 1H  dengan menggunakan media gambar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di jalan DI Panjaitan Rt.10 Rw.04, Plaju Ilir,Kecamatan Plaju,Kota Palembang Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Metode pengabdian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas. Hasil yang diperoleh kenaikan jumlah siswa yang mengalami ketuntasan belajar menulis berita dari siklus I dan siklus II tercatat sebanyak 30 siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang digunakan konten kreator gaming dalam kanal youtube Jangkric. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskritif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumen. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode analisis konten dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan sebanyak 43 data prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang terdiri dari 12 data maksim kebijaksanaan, 7 data maksim kedermawanan, 7 data maksim pujian, 1 data maksim kerendahan hati, 10 data maksim kesepakatan, 6 data maksim simpati. Komunitas dalam live streaming Jangkric memiliki ikatan sosial yang kuat. Jika maksim kebijaksanaan sering muncul, itu berarti interaksi dalam live streaming tersebut tidak sekadar hiburan, tetapi juga menjadi ruang untuk berbagi pengalaman, nasihat, dan refleksi hidup. Faktor yang mungkin mendukung fenomena ini adalah hubungan erat antara streamer dan pemirsanya, dimana mereka merasa nyaman untuk saling memberikan perhatian dan masukan. Selain itu, budaya dalam komunitas tersebut mungkin mendorong sikap saling mendukung, sehingga nasihat dan kebijaksanaan lebih sering muncul dalam percakapan.Kata kunci: Bahasa, Kesantunan Berbahasa, Youtube

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan kebijakan baru dalam pendidikan di Indonesia yang diluncurkan pada tahun 2021. Kurikulum ini memberikan ruang gerak yang lebih luas bagi sekolah dan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan minat peserta didik. Namun, masih sedikit penelitian yang dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi efetivitas  implementasi kurikulum ini terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar (SD) terutama di SD Negeri 248 Palembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisi kekosongan tersebut dan memberikan informasi yang bermanfaat bagi sekolah, guru dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SD Negeri 248 Palembang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SD Negeri 248 Palembang dan (2) untuk menganalisis pengaruh implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia di SD Negeri 248 Palembang. Hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia peserta didik kelas VI.A di SD Negeri 248 Palembang sebelum dan sesudah melakukan penerapan kurikulum merdeka terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan hal ini ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji paired sampel t-test dengan nilai sig <0.001 < 0,05.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan bahasa yang efektif pada media digital memegang peranan penting dalam mendukung promosi dan pelayanan informasi pariwisata di era digital. Dinas Pariwisata Kota Palembang sebagai garda terdepan dalam menyampaikan informasi kepada wisatawan dituntut untuk mampu mengelola konten digital secara informatif, persuasif, dan multibahasa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan analisis konten pada platform seperti Google, Instagram, dan TikTok diketahui bahwa meskipun Dinas Pariwisata telah beradaptasi dengan teknologi digital, namun masih perlu adanya peningkatan kualitas penggunaan bahasa, keterampilan komunikasi digital, serta penyediaan informasi dalam berbagai bahasa. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu Dinas Pariwisata Kota Palembang dalam mengoptimalkan penggunaan bahasa pada media digital sebagai sarana promosi dan pelayanan informasi pariwisata. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif, Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu Dinas Pariwisata kota Palembang dalam meningkatkan kompetensi komunikasi digital aparatur, memperkuat daya saing konten pariwisata daerah, serta memberikan pengalaman berkelanjutan dalam membangun citra pariwisata Kota Palembang yang informatif dan ramah wisatawan.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how Indonesian verbs prefixed with ber- are translated into English, focusing on their semantic and grammatical transformations as part of a broader evolution of verbs across the two languages. It revealed how ber- verbs, shaped by affixation in Indonesian, evolved into structurally different forms in English, reflecting each languages grammatical tendencies. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research analyzed a bilingual corpus derived from the Indonesian fairy tale Burung Hantu dan Putri Rajawali and its English translation The Owl and the Eagles Daughter. The data were collected through purposive sampling, comprising all ber- prefixed verbs in the source text. These verbs were analyzed based on their morphological forms, syntactic roles, and semantic shifts in translation. The analysis shows that most ber- verbs, such as berpikir (thought), bertemu (met), and berjuang (struggled), were translated using various English verb forms, including past tense, gerunds, and progressive aspect. Some verbs, such as berterima kasih (grateful) and berhadapan (ventured out), demonstrated more distinctive shifts, indicating cultural or idiomatic adaptation. Reduplicated forms like berkomat-kamit (muttered) and berjam-jam (for many hours) emphasized repeated or prolonged action, while the verb bekerja illustrated phonological alteration of the prefix. These findings highlight the translators strategies in rendering ber-verbs not only semantically but also functionally accurate in English, revealing the complex relationship of morphology, syntax, and meaning in cross-linguistic verb evolution.
