Abstract

Background: Marriage is everyone's dream and need to create a whole and happy family (household). Changing the status and role of being a parent is fun and even sad if the adjustment is not properly prepared. Self-acceptance as a parent can affect a person's psychological level where the rates of stress, depression, violence against family children, and even divorce experience an increasing trend. Young parents are more vulnerable to becoming victims of both physical and verbal violence. Methods: The method in this research is scoping review. The literature search in this study used three medical journal databases, namely Ebsco, ProQuest, and Willey Online Library, and one search engine, namely Google Scholar. Articles were selected using inclusion criteria, namely original research, in English and Indonesian, published within the last 5 years (2017-2022). The total search results were 3,395 articles. 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria in the authors' review were found. The instrument used to assess the quality of articles was the Joana Briggs tool from the Joana Briggs Institute (JBI). Conclusion: From the results of the review, it was found three themes related to readiness, influencing factors, and support in the transition to parenthood. The review of the ten articles showed that the transition to parenthood requires readiness both physically and mentally, internal and external factors, and the need for support from family, social, and health services.

Abstract

The high rate of early marriages in Yogyakarta is partly driven by unplanned pregnancies (Kehamilan Tidak Diinginkan/KTD). KTD is influenced by several factors, including a lack of adolescent knowledge about reproductive health and environmental influences that shape attitudes, mindsets, and behaviors regarding adolescent sexuality. This Community Service Programme (PKM) aligns with government initiatives aimed at reducing and preventing early marriages, starting within educational settings. The programme's goal is to establish the Youth Reproductive Health Information Centre (PIKR-R) at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta as a preventive measure against early marriages, while also enhancing students' knowledge of adolescent reproductive health. The focus of this PKM is the implementation of Health Technology Assessment through the establishment of the Youth Reproductive Health Information Centre, with the aim of preventing early marriages at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta. Students from various professional backgrounds, including Midwifery, Psychology, and Communication Science, will be involved in the programme. This initiative supports three out of the eight Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Higher Education Institutions, including enabling lecturers to engage in off-campus activities, providing students with off-campus experiences, and applying research outcomes for community benefit, particularly at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The prevalence of marriages involving women aged 18 is significant, with approximately 15 million cases globally and over 1.2 million in Indonesia. Early marriage poses a substantial risk of Domestic Violence (DV). This research used a qualitative descriptive design; the research informants were five people who underwent early marriage, and the sample selection used snowball sampling. Data were collected using interviews with an interview guide, and the data collected was subjected to thematic analysis using Nvivo 12 Plus computer software. In this study, five teenagers were married, one woman had never been married, two women were divorced, and two women were married. Two major themes were found in the experience of marriage at an early age, namely internal factors and external factors regarding the resilience of early marriage. In the theme and sub-theme project map, it was found that internal factors include communication patterns with conditions of emotional instability at a young age and behavior patterns that tend to involve partners and even domestic violence. External factors consist of socioeconomic factors, environmental factors, and psychological resilience. The resilience of teenage marriages that needs to be considered is the pattern of effective communication between partners to understand each other and external factors on the psychological resilience of family conflict management. It is hoped that teenagers can limit their social freedom and prepare for marriage well physically, psychologically, and economically.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy-related anxiety is a common condition that can negatively affect both maternal and fetal health. This type of anxiety has been associated with a higher risk of complications such as premature birth and low birth weight. One intervention shown to be effective in reducing anxiety during pregnancy is prenatal education through structured classes for expectant mothers.Method: The scoping review adapted the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome). Framework and was systematically reported using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) flowchart, then selected from the PubMed, Biomed Central, Wiley Online Library, and ResearchGate databases. A total of 2.078 articles were screened using inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 16 articles to be reviewed. These were then further selected by assessing the quality of the articles using the Critical Appraisal JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) Checklist based on the type of research from the reviewed articles.Result: Five main themes emerged from the reviewed studies: the role of prenatal classes in reducing anxiety, their impact on birth outcomes and maternal-infant health, the use of technology-based and online learning platforms, maternal mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, and various models and approaches in delivering prenatal education. Both in-person and online formats were found to be beneficial, especially when tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of pregnant women. Prenatal education classes are an effective strategy to lower anxiety levels during pregnancy and to improve maternal readiness for childbirth. Additionally, such education supports better health outcomes for both mother and baby. The delivery method whether face-to-face or digital should be selected based on the specific needs of the participants to maximize the benefits of the program.

Abstract

Health practices during pregnancy, such as smoking, consuming alcohol, or failing to meet nutritional requirements, can have serious impacts on the health of both the mother and fetus. These risks include premature labor, spontaneous abortion, anemia, and other dangerous complications. Additionally, insufficient ANC (Antenatal Care) visits can hinder the early detection of danger signs or pregnancy complications, such as anemia, preeclampsia, or maternal abnormalities, which could potentially endanger the birthing process. Maternal-fetal attachment (MFA) is an important factor that can significantly influence health practices, subsequently impacting the health and well-being of both pregnant women and their unborn fetuses. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal-fetal attachment and health practices during pregnancy at PMB Anisa Mauliddina. The research utilized quantitative descriptive analytical design with cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Amanah Husada Clinic in Gunung Kidul Regency, involving 86 third-trimester pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. The results showed no significant relationship between maternal-fetal attachment and health practices during pregnancy at PMB Anisa Mauliddina, with a p-value of 0,084. In conclusion, this study found no correlation between maternal-fetal attachment and health practices during pregnancy at PMB Anisa Mauliddina.
