Abstract

The growth of the natural soap industry in Indonesia encourages Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to design sustainable and adaptive business strategies. Loush Bath, an MSME in Bogor, produces natural exfoliating soap made from soap nuts, loofah, and orange peel, which is the subject of this research. This study focuses on the application of the Business Model Canvas to illustrate how to create, deliver, and capture business value (BMC) in designing Loush Bath's business development strategy, which aligns with the increasing consumer trend towards environmentally friendly and ethically sourced products. The primary objective of this research is to understand the nine elements of BMC about the current business situation and to identify strengths and areas for improvement. The method employed was a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that included semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and internal documentation. Data analysis was done thematically based on the BMC framework. The results showed that Loush Bath has effectively implemented most of the BMC elements, especially in value proposition, customer relationships, and digital distribution channels. However, challenges still exist, such as the lack of product diversification and the absence of a structured financial recording system. The conclusion of this study states that the application of BMC can provide a systematic, contextual, and responsive strategic framework for natural product-based MSMEs. Recommendations include product diversification, financial digitalization, optimizing digital distribution, strengthening local partnerships, and ensuring product legality.

Abstract

Abstract

Given recent productivity declines, this study aims to evaluate the quality of services provided by dairy farmers’ cooperatives to local farmers, who are both cooperative members and the primary milk suppliers, in the context of declining milk productivity. A quantitative approach was employed, focusing on local farmers as key partners and milk suppliers within the livestock business district, a national livestock development model managed by dairy farmers’ cooperatives. Data were collected from 49 respondents, consisting of 29 farmers from Livestock Business District I and 20 farmers from Livestock Business District II. The assessment began with measuring service quality attributes using a structured scale, followed by an Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA). The results indicate that service attributes are distributed across several IPA quadrants, with critical attributes requiring immediate attention, particularly water supply, milk pricing, and communication with cooperative management. In addition, several other service attributes were identified as needing improvement. These findings provide strategic insights for dairy farmers’ cooperatives to enhance key service quality attributes that are essential for improving cooperative performance. Strengthening these attributes is expected to contribute to better service delivery and, ultimately, to increased milk productivity among local farmers, especially those operating within the livestock business district areas.

Abstract

Pricing in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the personal care sector is often based on estimates or market conventions without systematic production cost calculations, potentially resulting in prices that do not reflect the actual cost structure of the business. Previous studies have generally discussed the calculation of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) using the full costing method descriptively, but have not explicitly linked it to the evaluation of selling price feasibility and theoretical implications for cost-based pricing. Therefore, the gap in this study lies in the limited studies that integrate COGS calculations with an analysis of the rationality of selling prices in small-scale personal care MSMEs. This study aims to calculate COGS using the full costing method and evaluate the suitability of the selling price at Loush Bath MSME for the Honeymon variant of Exfoliating Soap. The study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observation of the production process, structured interviews with the owner and production team, and documentation of production costs, including raw materials, direct labor, and overhead costs. The results show that the total production cost is IDR 1,628,561 with a production volume of 120 units per month, resulting in a COGS of IDR 13,571 per unit. Based on these results, the selling price of IDR 20,000 is considered economically adequate, able to cover all production costs, and provide a competitive profit margin. The originality of this study lies in the integration of full costing-based COGS calculations with the evaluation of selling price feasibility as a basis for pricing decisions in personal care MSMEs. Theoretically, this study contributes to strengthening the relevance of the cost-based pricing approach in small-scale MSMEs and confirms the role of full costing as a normative basis for rational and sustainable pricing

Abstract

The process of digital transformation in public financial management has sped up the use of integrated financial information systems, nevertheless empirical evidence on user acceptance in mandatory institutional Financial Application System (SAKTI) at Pusat Data dan Informasi (PUSDATIN), Kementerian ATR/BPN, Indonesia, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A descriptive quantitative method was employed to collect data from five SAKTI operators and finance department staff through likert scale questionnaires, direct observations, and semi structured interviews. The four TAM constructs : Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Behavioral Intention to Use (BI), and Actual System Use (AU) all archieved very high mean scores (over 4.25 on 5 point scale), indicating strong user acceptance. However, technical challenges such as system lag during peak periods, module glitches, and OTP delivery failures were identified as barriers impacting PEOU and overall system reliability. This study provides an empirical application of TAM in a mandatory government financial system context, demonstrating that while perceptions of usefulness drive acceptance, infrastructure quality significantly moderates system performance. The findings suggest that policymakers and system administrators should prioritize infrastructure investments and optimized maintenance schedules to sustain user adoption. This study is limited by its small sample size and single agency focus, future research should incorporate larger samples, structural equation modeling (SEM), and multi agency comparisons to enhance generalizability.
