Abstract

The Mawasangka-Labungkari axis road is located in the Lakudo District area, Central Buton Regency, and is a Southeast Sulawesi Province. The development of the transportation area is one of the pillars supporting the economy of a region that cannot be separated from regional development, as well as at the Lima Labungakari intersection which is an unsignalized intersection where various types of vehicles pass daily, such as motorbikes, cars, trucks, and so on. This study aims to determine the highest traffic volume, namely on Jalan Poros Lolibu-Mawasangka (Segment A) Sundays at 06.00-18.00 the flow is 777.1 pcu/hour, has the highest current value compared to other roads, and the capacity The Lolibu-Mawasangka axis road (segment A) is 2,401.2 pcu/hour, while the Gersamata road produces a capacity of 1,461.6 pcu/hour, while the Lakapera-Waraa Axle Road (Segment C) produces a capacity of 2,270.7 pcu/hour so that it is suitable with the basic vehicle capacity that has been regulated by MKJI 1997, namely 2,900 per lane 2/2 UD and to find out the degree of saturation (DS) value at this research location is below 0.75, namely in segment A it is 0.25, in segment B it is 0.35 and in segment C it is 0.24, so it can mean that this intersection can still serve the vehicles that pass through it well.

Abstract

Nickel slag is a by-product of the nickel ore smelting process and can be used as an alternative to cement and fine aggregates. This community service program aims to develop and apply concrete mixing technology based on nickel slag as an environmentally friendly alternative material for producing concrete blocks and concrete brick in Tambea Village. The community, which is engaged in small-scale construction businesses, is involved in this training. The investigation results indicate that the community gained a better understanding of how to use industrial waste and produce high-quality nickel slag-based concrete. This project is expected to enhance the local economy by implementing sustainable technology based on local materials.

Abstract

One of the Trans-Sulawesi road sections that frequently happen traffic accidents is the Kolaka – North Kolaka road section. The protected forest area on the Tamborasi Incline (KM 78 – KM 81) in Iwomenda District, Kolaka Regency is the highest accident-prone area with a total of 87 accidents since 2022. The causal factors are poor road conditions, damaged road equipment, lack of lighting, and driver negligence. The solution to address this problem is by conducting a comprehensive audit on the Kolaka – North Kolaka road section. The purpose of this study is to provide academic studies for the local government in implementing the management of traffic accident-prone areas through road safety audits to reduce the accident rate towards Zero Accident. The method used is the road safety audit method including field surveys, identification of accident-prone points (black spots), road geometric analysis, and evaluation of supporting safety facilities such as signs, markings, and street lighting. The audit results showed that several road segments have significant deficiencies in geometric aspects and the completeness of safety facilities, which directly contribute to the high risk of accidents. The percentage of factors causing accidents are human factors (56.42%), vehicle factors (10%), physical environmental conditions (21.42%), and road conditions (12.14%). Recommendations for improvement are provided based on the audit findings for implementation by relevant parties, such as improving infrastructure quality, adding warning signs, and regulating vehicles. It is hoped that the results of this study can inform policymaking in planning and improving the road transportation system to create a safe and comfortable traffic environment without accidents, aiming for a Zero Accident target in the Kolaka-North Kolaka area.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the factors causing traffic accidents along the Mawasangka Tengah-Mawasangka road section in Central Buton Regency. Traffic accidents are influenced by various interrelated factors, which can generally be classified into two main categories: human factors and technical factors. Technical factors include road infrastructure conditions, traffic flow characteristics, and pavement conditions. Based on the accident analysis conducted in the study area, it was found that accidents were predominantly caused by driver error or negligence rather than by other contributing factors. The accident data were obtained from the Central Buton Police Department and supported by direct field surveys conducted at identified blackspot locations along the Mawasangka Tengah-Mawasangka road section. The analysis employed the Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) method and the Accident Equivalent Number (AEK) method to identify accident-prone locations and assess accident severity. The results indicate that: (1) the primary blackspot location along the Mawasangka Tengah-Mawasangka road section is situated in Mawasangka Tengah District, accounting for 53.93% of the total recorded traffic accidents, with 48 accident cases recorded during the study period and an AEK value of 255, indicating a high level of accident severity; and (2) the contributing factors to traffic accidents were dominated by human factors (67.42%), followed by road conditions (16.85%), physical environmental conditions (13.48%), and vehicle factors (6.74%). Therefore, it can be concluded that human factors are the dominant cause of traffic accidents on the Mawasangka Tengah–Mawasangka road section, contributing 67.42% of all recorded accident cases.

Abstract

Abstract

Medical waste is produced in hospitals by a variety of means, including solid waste, gas, and liquid. Therefore, it is necessary to support the analysis of the production of solid medical waste at RS SMS Berjaya District of Kolaka. The purpose of this technical support is to find out the monthly quantity of solid medical waste as well as the solid medical waste disposal system carried out at SMS Berjaya Hospital. Use both qualitative and quantitative descriptions. The accompanying results showed that the solid medical waste produced from medical activities in each room during the observation was a source of non-acute infectious garbage. Class II and III hospital facilities produce the highest percentage of medical garbage 23.13 kg/day (46.26%), and the smallest unit of medical waste in each room is 2.59 kg/ day (5.18%). And in the Infectious Object Garbage, the largest in Class II & III facilities is 1.32 kg/day (29,53%). And Nifas/Perinatology facilities are much smaller than 0.4kg/day (8.95%). SMS Berjaya Hospital has a solid, well-implemented medical waste management system.
