Abstract

[English]: Teachers need help to make differentiated e-modules, which is the urgency behind this service activity that needs to be carried out. This is because the MGMP Physics teachers of Musi Banyuasin Regency must gain the knowledge and skills to develop differentiated e-modules. The lack of knowledge is due to the new curriculum in 2020. Therefore, this community service program aims to increase teachers' capacity to design products through differentiated modules. The technological innovation trained in this service is to realize the development in electronic format so that it becomes a differentiated e-module. Participatory Action Research (PAR) is the method used in the implementation of service activities with stages (a) preparation, (b) implementation, and (c) evaluation and reflection. The target participants of the service activities were 20 physics subject teachers in Musi Banyuasin Regency. Based on the data obtained, there is an increase in test results with an N-gain of 0.82, which is included in the high category. Meanwhile, the data from the evaluation of PKM activities showed a participant satisfaction level of 82% with a very satisfying category. Generally, as many as 80% of training participants can create and produce differentiated e-module products. Based on the questionnaire results, it was found that 86% of the training participants strongly agreed that this service activity could provide benefits in improving their skills in making differentiated e-modules in physics subjects. Abstract

This preliminary study investigates the critical thinking skills of Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 01 Belitang Jaya on the topic of temperature and heat, focusing on Ennis's critical thinking indicators. It aims to identify students' critical thinking levels based on five indicators and highlight areas needing improvement. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method, involving 154 students from five classes. Data were collected through questionnaires covering five indicators: providing simple explanations, building basic skills, drawing conclusions, providing further explanations, and managing strategies and tactics. The findings show that students excel in providing simple explanations (74.66%, high category). However, they perform moderately in building basic skills (46.79%), drawing conclusions (58.54%), and providing further explanations (41.60%). Managing strategies and tactics scored the lowest (31.20%, low category). These results suggest a need for targeted educational interventions, especially in strategy and tactics management. The study provides a reference for developing interactive teaching materials, such as augmented reality-assisted e-modules, to improve students' engagement and critical thinking skills. It lays the groundwork for innovative teaching strategies to make the learning process more effective and engaging

Abstract

This study aims to validate physics teaching materials in the form of STEM-based e-modules in the context of local wisdom of South Sumatra. This type of development research uses the Rowntree development model which consists of 3 stages, namely the planning, preparation, and evaluation stages. This research uses tessmer formative evaluation. Then, the research instrument used was a validation sheet with data collection techniques using a Likert scale and a Guttman scale. The validation data was analyzed by determining the average of each assessment. The results showed that STEM-based physics teaching materials in the context of South Sumatra's local wisdom were in the valid and very valid categories, with results for product 1 e-modules for content aspects of 81%, media design 74% and language 76%. Product 2 e-LKPD for content aspects 73%, media design 77% and language 74%. Product 3 e-modules for material aspects 93.5%, design and language 93.25% as well as learning design 88.75%. Thus, it can be concluded that STEM-based physics teaching materials in the context of local wisdom of South Sumatra are valid, the three products have met the standards and criteria that have been set.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the empirical needs for developing an Ethno-STEM-based and differentiated physics module to improve critical thinking skills among high school students in South Sumatra, within the context of global warming. A mixed-methods exploratory sequential design was employed, with qualitative data from open-ended questions informing the development of a quantitative Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 81 physics teachers and 1,118 Grade 10 students across five vulnerable districts. Results show that while 100% of teachers express interest in Ethno-STEM, only 24.7% have implemented it, primarily due to the lack of ready-to-use modules (32.4%) and curriculum time constraints (27.0%). Students exhibit diverse learning preferences, with 74.6% favoring hands-on experiments. Furthermore, 83.5% demonstrate analytical skills by identifying causes of environmental problems, but only 61% can compare solutions effectively. These findings reveal a significant gap between awareness and practice, underscoring the urgent need for contextual, culturally responsive, and differentiated learning materials. The study provides a strong empirical foundation for designing a project-based physics module aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, integrating local wisdom, STEM principles, and learning style differentiation to enhance critical thinking.
