Abstract

Distance learning has become increasingly relevant, mainly fuelled by advances in information and communication technology (ICT) and emergency situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Innovations in assessment and evaluation methods are key to improving the quality of education in the context of distance learning. This study aims to identify, analyse and map the main themes and provide recommendations for new directions for future research related to distance learning assessment. This research is quantitative-descriptive in nature using bibliometric analysis techniques. Bibliographic data was taken from a credible scientific database on the Scopus database in the range of 2020-2024 using the keyword ‘Assessment for distance learning’. The data obtained was analysed and the relationship between keywords was mapped. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the 10 major themes and research trends related to distance learning assessment include distance learning (131), higher education (43), e-learning (40), distance education (34), Covid-19 (30), assessment (24), pandemic (23), blended learning (17), online assessment (16), online education (15). The results of this study can provide a framework for understanding distance learning assessment in a broader and cross-disciplinary context

Abstract

Prospective chemistry teachers play an important role in implementing Discovery Learning through the learning tools they develop. It is important to evaluate the quality of discovery learning-based learning tools utilised by prospective chemistry teachers in order to provide constructive feedback and improve their competence. This study aims to describe the quality of learning tools in the form of teaching materials and Learner Worksheets that have been prepared by prospective chemistry teachers. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The population of this study were all students majoring in chemistry class of 2021. This study used purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was prospective teacher students from the 2021 class B chemistry education study programme, totalling 23 people. Data collection techniques in the form of portfolio/document evaluation in the form of learning devices made by prospective chemistry teacher students. The learning tools collected by prospective teacher students are in the form of teaching materials and student worksheets based on Discovery learning. The learning devices that have been collected are then assessed using validated instruments and assessment rubrics and then scored to determine the ability category of prospective teacher students. The results showed that the quality of discovery learning-based teaching materials prepared by Chemistry teacher candidates in the construction component is categorized as Good, content/material is categorized as Very Good, learning assessment is categorized as Quite Good and discovery learning orientation is categorized as Good. The quality of discovery learning-based student worksheets prepared by prospective chemistry teachers in terms of the construction component is categorized as Very Good, learning activities are categorized as Very Good, learning assessment is categorized as Good and discovery learning orientation is categorized as Very Good.

Abstract

Blogspot in this literature study is a type of online learning hybrid used as an online learning instrument. This literature review allowed the researcher to review previous studies on the use of technology in education, particularly Blogspot. The use of blogspot had a positive impact on student engagement and facilitated a deeper understanding of concepts. The stages carried out in this research are Problem Identification and Research Objectives, Literature Data Collection, Literature Data Analysis, Synthesis of Findings and Reporting of Research Results. Based on the results of the literature study, blogspot is proven to be effective in supporting flexible learning, especially in collaborative activities, writing, and project-based learning. Its features allow students to access materials easily and engage in online discussions. Despite several advantages, there are significant constraints in using Blogspot. One major challenge is Blogspot’s limited class management and evaluation features compared to other Learning Management Systems (LMS). Actionable recommendations from the findings are to combine Blogspot with LMS platforms for a better learning experience and provide targeted digital literacy training. With these recommendations, educators and institutions can consider Blogspot for online learning.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa kimia dalam analisis dan visualisasi data menggunakan perangkat lunak Origin sebagai upaya penguatan literasi digital sains. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan learning by doing yang diikuti oleh 40 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test, post-test, observasi, dan angket sikap. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan mahasiswa sebesar 40,9%, disertai perubahan sikap positif terhadap pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam analisis data ilmiah. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan analitik, interpretatif, dan representatif mahasiswa terhadap data eksperimen kimia, serta berpotensi untuk diintegrasikan dalam kegiatan praktikum guna memperkuat kompetensi literasi digital sains di perguruan tinggi

Abstract

Life-Based Learning menekankan integrasi pengetahuan dengan pengalaman sehari-hari, mendorong pembelajaran yang kontekstual, holistik, dan berkelanjutan. Banyak studi relevan yang berfokus pada aspek praktis dari penerapan LBL, sementara sedikit yang mengkaji secara sistematis bagaimana strategi-strategi ini dapat diadopsi secara luas dalam konteks pendidikan yang lebih luas. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali dan menganalisis literatur yang ada tentang strategi Life-Based Learning dalam konteks pendidikan, serta untuk mengidentifikasi berbagai pendekatan yang telah diterapkan dalam berbagai penelitian terdahulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi literatur untuk menganalisis strategi Life-Based Learning (LBL) dalam pendidikan. Data yang diperoleh dari literatur tersebut akan dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi Life-Based Learning (LBL) telah diterapkan secara luas dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan, dengan pendekatan yang bervariasi tergantung pada kebutuhan dan tujuan pendidikan masing-masing. Penelitian yang dikaji menunjukkan bahwa LBL tidak hanya efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran akademik, tetapi juga dalam pengembangan keterampilan praktis dan karakter siswa. Berbagai metode, seperti eksperimen, survei, literatur review, dan penelitian pengembangan, telah digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan LBL, masing-masing memberikan wawasan yang berharga mengenai bagaimana pengalaman hidup dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam proses pembelajaran.
