Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to describe the navigation strategies of homeless women farmers in dealing with local socio-economic dynamics in Konda District, South Konawe Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the navigation strategies of homeless women farmers in dealing with local socio-economic dynamics in Konda District, South Konawe Regency. This approach was chosen because it allows for an in-depth exploration of the experiences, perspectives and strategies applied by women farmers in dealing with the challenges they face. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation, using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the navigation strategies of homeless women farmers in facing local socio-economic dynamics are carried out through: developing social networks, resource management skills, revenue strategy , as well as household economic diversification strategies. In fact, the household economic diversification strategy is an effective adaptive approach for homeless women farmers in facing local socio-economic dynamics. By utilizing local skills, managing risks and creating alternative income, they are able to increase the economic resilience of their families. However, the success of this strategy is highly dependent on inclusive policy support, access to resources, and reduction of structural barriers. Through economic diversification, women farmers not only survive economic challenges but also contribute to social development and community empowerment at the local level.

Abstract

This study investigated the resilience of child victims of sexual violence who developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and analyzed the role of the Integrated Service Units for Women and Children Protection (UPT PPA) in Kendari City in facilitating their recovery. Adopting a qualitative case study methodology, the research utilized in-depth interviews and field observations with 10 child victims, aged 8 to 16 years, and 5 institutional staff members selected through purposive sampling based on victim status and psychological trauma indicators. The findings revealed that resilience in these children was shaped by an interplay of internal factors, such as self-efficacy and emotional regulation, and external factors, including family support and the multifaceted psychosocial interventions provided by UPT PPA. These interventions, which incorporated cultural, spiritual, and social support mechanisms, proved effective in strengthening the children's recovery processes. Ultimately, the results underscore the necessity of a holistic approach involving family, community, and institutional support in fostering resilience, while providing a basis for enhancing existing intervention models for child trauma survivors.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between care burden and gender inequality in the construction of social welfare in rural communities. This study uses a qualitative approach with case study methods in rural communities, through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and analysis of local social policy documents. The findings show that women bear a double burden: as the main responsible for domestic work and unpaid care, as well as as economic actors in supporting household incomes. This burden not only limits women's access to productive resources and social mobility, but also reproduces structural inequalities in the distribution of welfare. In addition, social protection policies tend to assume women as beneficiaries as well as managers of family welfare, without substantively reducing the burden of care they bear. This study concludes that care work is a key element of social welfare in rural areas, but it is mostly imposed on women. Women must carry out a dual role, namely taking care of the household while earning a living, so that their opportunities to develop are limited. This causes gender inequality to continue to occur. This research contributes to strengthening the sociological perspective of welfare by placing care work as a central arena in the analysis of gender inequality and social policy.
