Abstract

Badai matahari memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap lapisan ionosfer Bumi, dipengaruhi oleh flare matahari dan lontaran massa korona (CME) yang menghasilkan radiasi elektromagnetik. Fenomena ini mempengaruhi struktur dan kepadatan ionosfer, menyebabkan peningkatan kepadatan elektron di lapisan F ionosfer, variasi densitas plasma di wilayah Anomali Ionisasi Ekuator (EIA), dan peningkatan sintilasi ionosferik. Gangguan ini dapat mengganggu komunikasi radio, navigasi satelit, dan infrastruktur teknologi lainnya. Artikel ini membahas alternatif mitigasi seperti penggunaan model matematika, data Total Electron Content (TEC), metode multimodel, pengukuran Sinar-X, dan analisis O/N2 untuk memahami dan melindungi infrastruktur dan teknologi dari dampak negatif badai matahari.

Abstract

Bencana lumpur Lapindo yang terjadi di Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur pada tahun 2006 merupakan salah satu bencana lingkungan besar yang pernah terjadi di Indonesia. Bencana ini mengakibatkan timbulnya dampak negatif di berbagai aspek, salah satunya pada aspek lingkungan, yaitu kerusakan lingkungan yang serius, termasuk  pencemaran di air dan tanah yang dapat memengaruhi ekosistem sekitarnya. Metode yang digunakan pada penulisan artikel ini yaitu systematic literature review yang memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui potensi kerusakan ekosistem sebagai dampak luapan lumpur Lapindo dengan meninjau artikel-artikel dari dua sumber berbeda, yakni dari database Scopus dan Google Scholar. Lumpur yang terus mengalir mengandung zat berbahaya, seperti gas dan sejumlah logam berat dengan kadar tinggi. Beberapa mineral juga terkandung di dalamnya. Zat berbahaya yang terkandung dalam lumpur dapat menyebabkan kerusakan ekosistem di sekitarnya. Logam berat dapat menjadi racun bagi organisme jika terserap di dalam tubuh dan menyebabkan kematian. Namun, ada beberapa organisme yang dapat bertahan. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan fenomena biomagnifikasi pada rantai makanan ekosistem. Pencemaran lumpur dalam jangka panjang dapat menurunkan keanekaragaman hayati organisme dan merusak ekosistem di daratan dan perairan yang ada di sekitarnya.

Abstract

Posisi geologi Indonesia terletak pada pertemuan tiga lempeng aktif, di selatan terdapat lempeng Indo Australia, di utara terdapat lempeng Euro Asia, dan di timur terdapat lempeng Pasifik. Faktor inilah yang menyebabkan letak Indonesia sangat rawan terhadap bencana.. Letusan gunung berapi yang kuat dapat mempengaruhi iklim global. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari letusan Gunung  menyebabkan perkantoran, sekolah, dan kegiatan perekonomian lumpuh total. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk memahami pentingnya literasi mengenai kualitas udara untuk menjaga pernapasan dan mencegah iritasi mata. Hal ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan rasa tanggung jawab, kesiapsiagaan dan kemandirian masyarakat lokal jika terjadi aktivitas vulkanik dan meminimalisir jatuhnya korban jiwa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah literatur review yang digunakan dalam metode kepustakaan atau studi pustaka, yaitu dengan mencari, menelaah jurnal ilmiah lainnya yang relevan dan mendukung uraian atau menjelaskan penyebab dan faktor dampak serta upaya mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan hidup yang timbul akibat permasalahan pencemaran udara Indonesia's geological position lies at the confluence of three active plates, in the south there is the Indo Australian plate, in the north there is the Euro Asia plate, and in the east there is the Pacific plate. This factor is what causes Indonesia's location to be very vulnerable to disasters. Strong volcanic eruptions can affect the global climate. The impact of the volcanic eruption caused offices, schools and economic activities to be completely paralyzed. This paper aims to understand the importance of literacy regarding air quality to maintain breathing and prevent eye irritation. This is expected to create a sense of responsibility, preparedness and independence for local communities in the event of volcanic activity and minimize loss of life. The method used in writing this article is a literature review which is used in the literature or literature study method, namely by searching, reviewing other scientific journals that are relevant and support the description or explain the causes and impact factors as well as efforts to overcome environmental problems that arise due to air pollution problems.

Abstract

Asesmen diagnostik merupakan syarat penting dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran berdiferiensi. Namun, semua guru di Sanggar Belajar Sungai Mulia 5 belum memahami dan menerapkanya sebelum melakukan pembelajaran. Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk peningkatan pedagogik guru di Sanggar Belajar Sungai Mulia 5. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 11 yang merupakan TKI yang bekerja di Malaysia. Adapun metode kegiatan pendampingan ini meliputi; presentasi, diskusi, tanya jawab, praktik. Sementara, kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan ini meliputi beberapa tahapan, diantaranya; (1) tahap inisiasi/persiapan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan/pendampingan, dan (3) tahap pasca-pelatihan/pendampingan. Hasil pretes dan postes peserta pelatihan dan pendampingan menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman materi dari 45,6 menuju 64,5 . Selain itu, hasil feedback peserta pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa materi pelatihan sangat sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta pendampingan dan metode yang digunakan saat pendampingan sangat efektif.

Abstract

Improving students' skills in scientific argumentation is an important initiative aimed at producing high-quality graduates. Debate Based on Inquiry Learning (DBOIL) is a learning model developed to facilitate the development of students’ scientific argumentation skills. This learning model is constructed based on the advantages of inquiry and debate, as well as a solution to the limitations of both in optimally improving scientific argumentation skills. As an intervention integrated into learning activities, DBOIL must satisfy criteria such as relevance (content validity), consistency (construct validity), practicality, and effectiveness. This study aims to describe the content validity of DBOIL. This is based on expert judgment, with 25 validators consisting of experts, lecturers, and education practitioners. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the Aiken Methodology (Aiken's V) which was strengthened by calculating the 95% confidence interval (95% CI). The results showed that the content validity of DBOIL has been proven valid. This shows that DBOIL is worthy of further research to explore and reveal other criteria, namely consistency, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Critical thinking is essential for today's students (Alpha Generation) due to rapid technology and globalization. It means thinking logically and making wise decisions. This research aimed to create an SSI-based WebQuest to improve critical thinking in elementary science students. This tool was designed using the ADDIE model and tested on 20 Grade V students at an international Christian school in West Surabaya during the second semester of 2023/2024. The research design used a one-group pretest-post-test approach. Data were collected through multiple methods, including validation, observation, a critical thinking skills test, and a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive and quantitative methods. Students' critical thinking skills were examined by n-gain and nonparametric tests. The results showed that (1) the developed media was classified as very valid, (2) learning activities were carried out very well, (3) students' critical thinking skills increased with an average n-gain value of 0.70 (high category), and (4) students' response to the learning that was carried out was classified as good with a percentage of 81%. The developed science learning materials are valid, practical, and effective in improving critical thinking among young students (Generation Alpha). This study highlights the value of using real-world socio-scientific issues in science education to help students understand the links between science, technology, and society. The findings offer a basis for future research on creating effective learning tools to enhance critical thinking across subjects and can inform teacher training in designing and using WebQuest-based materials centered on these real-world issues.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru IPA SMP dalam menyusun Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) untuk mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Pelaksanaan melibatkan 45 guru anggota MGMP IPA Kabupaten Pasuruan menggunakan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Metode pelatihan terdiri dari blended learning yang mencakup workshop luring dan pendampingan daring melalui Google Classroom. Kegiatan melibatkan pengenalan CRT, praktik penyusunan LKPD, hingga pengunggahan karya di Platform Merdeka Mengajar. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan guru, dengan skor rata-rata posttest berada di kategori sangat baik (55,56%). Keterampilan guru dalam menyusun LKPD berbasis CRT juga meningkat, terutama dalam aspek integrasi budaya lokal dan strategi pembelajaran. Pembahasan mengungkapkan perlunya pendampingan berkelanjutan untuk penguasaan prinsip CRT. Rekomendasi mencakup penguatan pelatihan pada aspek integrasi budaya dan kolaborasi guru-peserta didik untuk efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis budaya. Training of Junior High School Science Teachers in Creating Student Worksheets Based on Culturally Responsive Teaching: Efforts to Realize the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum as a National Curriculum Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru IPA SMP dalam This program aimed to enhance junior high school science teachers' knowledge and skills in developing Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The program engaged 45 teachers from the MGMP IPA in Pasuruan Regency, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The training method combined blended learning, including face-to-face workshops and online mentoring via Google Classroom. Activities included CRT introduction, LKPD design practice, and uploading teacher-created worksheets to the Merdeka Mengajar Platform. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ knowledge, with an average posttest score categorized as excellent (55.56%). Teachers’ skills in developing CRT-based LKPD also improved, especially in integrating local cultural values and implementing teaching strategies. The discussion highlighted the need for continuous mentoring to deepen understanding of CRT principles. Recommendations include strengthening training in cultural integration aspects and fostering teacher-student collaboration for more effective culturally-based learning.

Abstract

Water scarcity is a serious environmental issue impacting many countries worldwide. Cloud seeding is a technology aimed at increasing rainfall by adding certain chemicals to clouds. Cloud seeding can enhance rainfall by up to 10%, which can support the water needs of additional households annually. The purpose of this literature review is to identify the most effective cloud seeding methods. The search was conducted using the SCOPUS database. The articles found were then selected based on their titles, keywords, and abstracts to ensure relevance to the research topic, resulting in 7 relevant articles. The literature review revealed various cloud seeding methods, such as Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) cloud seeding, hygroscopic cloud seeding, and ECMWF cloud seeding. Based on an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these three cloud seeding methods, the most effective method is WRF cloud seeding because it is highly flexible and can be adapted to various weather conditions and topographies.

Abstract

Argumentation is a core component of critical thinking, one of the essential 21st-century skills. However, exploring this skill remains a challenge, often due to limitations in the available assessment methods. This study aims to offer a solution by utilizing the think-aloud protocol to explore and better understand the argumentation skills of Pre-Service Science Teachers (PSTs). A total of 30 PSTs from a state university in Indonesia participated in the research. Data collection and analysis through the think-aloud protocol were conducted in several stages: procedural briefing, implementation, coding and video analysis, and data interpretation. The findings revealed that the think-aloud protocol was effective in providing deeper insights into argumentation skills and yielded more detailed and accurate data across five key components: claims, evidence, reasoning, counterarguments, and rebuttals. On average, the PSTs demonstrated beginner-level argumentation skills, with the strongest performance in the claim component and weaker results in supporting aspects. Specifically, 5 participants were categorized as proficient, 9 as advanced, 6 as intermediate, and 10 as beginners. These results highlight the need for more effective learning strategies that provide PSTs with greater opportunities to practice constructing and critiquing arguments.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas guru merupakan elemen krusial dalam mewujudkan pendidikan berkualitas yang sejalan dengan prinsip SDGs-4. Meski demikian, banyak guru menghadapi tantangan dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka, terutama dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keberlanjutan, inklusivitas, dan teknologi pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Lamongan dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran yang relevan dan inovatif. Metode kegiatan mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan guru, pelatihan intensif, pendampingan berkelanjutan, evaluasi, serta publikasi dan penyebarluasan hasil kegiatan. Dampak dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka telah meningkat secara signifikan. Terdapat 90% guru berhasil membuat perangkat pembelajaran yang berkualitas, serta 75% guru mampu meningkatkan keterampilan teknologinya. Kegiatan ini juga menciptakan dampak jangka panjang dengan membentuk komunitas belajar guru sebagai wadah pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan dan penyebaran praktik terbaik kepada guru-guru lain di wilayah sekitar. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini tidak hanya memperkuat kapasitas guru di MAN 1 Lamongan, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan pendidikan berbasis SDGs-4 di tingkat lokal dan nasional.
