Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between the experimental class through the Geogebra-assisted POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) learning model and the control class through conventional learning and to determine mathematical problem-solving abilities after being treated with the POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry) by Geogebra-assisted. This study used a mixed method with a sequential-explanatory type. The study recruited class VIII of  SMPN 2 Prigen. The research sample was class VIII-A (the control class) and class VIII-C (the experimental class). The results showed that (1) there were differences in the mathematical problem-solving abilities of the experimental class through the Geogebra-assisted POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) learning model and the control class through conventional learning. (2) the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Prigen using the Geogebra-assisted POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) learning model are better than using conventional learning models

Abstract

Abstract

This research is based on students always thinking that mathematics is a subject that is difficult to understand, thus causing students to be lazy and not have the enthusiasm to learn mathematics and think about solving mathematics problems. This results in students doing the questions as they please and not thinking when working on math problems. This research aims to determine the influence of learning motivation on mathematical critical thinking skills through the self-efficacy of class VII students at SMP Islam Ma'arif 02 Malang City in the 2023/2024 academic year. Using a quantitative approach with the observational/expost facto method, this research involved 73 class VII students of SMP Islam Ma'arif 02 Malang City, consisting of classes VII-A, VII-B, VII-D. Sampling was carried out using the cluster random sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and test questions. The results of the research show that there is a direct influence of learning motivation on self-efficacy of 0.458, a direct influence of learning motivation on mathematical critical thinking skills of 0.319, a direct influence of self-efficacy on mathematical critical thinking abilities of 0.293, and an indirect influence of X1 on Y2 through Y1, namely 0.293 ×0.458 = 0.134.

Abstract

Abstract

The advancement of eco-green mathematics and artificial intelligence (AI) in education provides opportunities to improve sustainable mathematical literacy and support innovative learning practices. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of research trends, roles, and best practices in the integration of AI and eco-green mathematics to strengthen sustainability-oriented mathematical literacy. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method with strict guidelines, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). A literature search was conducted through the Scopus database for articles published between 2019 and 2025, resulting in 34 studies relevant to this topic. The results show that AI in mathematics education is applied through intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, and machine learning-based tools, while eco-green mathematics emphasizes mathematical modeling to answer ecological and social sustainability challenges. Most of the research was conducted in Europe, Asia, and the United States, with a predominance of conceptual, bibliometric, and mixed-approach studies. The analysis highlights key themes such as trends and concepts, the role of AI, best practices, challenges and opportunities, and future research directions related to sustainable mathematical literacy. Therefore, the synergy of smart technology, green curriculum, and pedagogical innovation will be the key to building sustainable mathematical literacy in the digital era.
