Abstract

The objective of this research are to assess the eficiency of biodegradation of textile dyes by using bacteriaconsortium biofim on combined anaerobic-aerobic system and also to asses the possibility for applicating this technologyin textile dyeing industry. Textile wastewater that used in this research are azo dyes total concentration 200 mg/L which isconsist of remazol yellow, remazol red, remazol black and remazol blue For anaerobik condition step, by using bacteriaconsortium selected from sludge of textile wastewater plant of Mama & Leon consist of Aeromonas sp ML6., Aeromonassp. ML14, Aeromonas sp. ML24, Pseudomonas sp. ML8 and Flavobacterium Sp ML20 whereas aerobic condition step,using bacteria consortium selected from Badung river sludge consist of Vibrio sp. and Plesiomonas sp. Both bacteriaconsortium is immobilized separatively on volcanous stone for 3 days in each reactor before used to treatment of synteticdyeswater (SDW). Further more, immobilized bacteria consortiom on volcanous stone is determined by four plate countmethod.The result ot this research showed the eficiency process in decreasing color, TDS, TSS, COD and BOD was96,94%,75,73%, 68,03%, 97,68% dan 94,60% respectively. So, wastewater treatment by using combined anaerobicaerobicsystem is potential to applied on wastewater treatment in textile industry.

Abstract

Application of lactic acid probiotic bacteria in health food diversification currently is progressing rapidly.  It is encouraged the study of searching the potential strains from local resources (Ponorogo Residence) namely noni fruits (badeg pace) and noni wine.  Aims of this study were to perform the isolation, identification, and production of  probiotic Lactobacillus sp. JR64 fermentation process as a producer of Omega-6 (ω-6) lowering cholesterol and design of probiotic creamy product.   Beginning stages of research was strains isolating and in-vitro testing, the best result were used in  molecular  identification technology development for the production of metabolites through the manipulation of environmental variation  of glucose 20 g / l, 30 g / l and 40 g / l that influenced the substrate concentration of linoleic acid productivity. The result of new isolates isolation showed that isolates that obtained from noni wine, Lactobacillus plantarum JR64, was potential as probiotic condidate.   The effieciency of fermentation  substrates using  Yx/s and Yp /s  in the exponential phase was the highest value for the fermentation of 24 hours of  Yx/ s; 17.03% and Y p/s; 74.72%, while the results of design and the best formulation for viability cells of lactobacillus  plantarum probiotics JR64 was composed of 15 g and 50g butter 15 g icing sugar as well as during storage of the refrigerant temperature was 8.92 x 108 CFU / ml.  [Key Words : Omega-6,  Lactobacillus plantarum JR64, fermentation]

Abstract

Recently public’s attention to the importance of healthy food increases rapidly. Probiotic based food exploiting lactic acid bacteria is among the healthy food. Lactobacillus plantarum JR64 isolate from Morinda citrifolia fruit was assessed for its probiotic in-vivo by using Wistar  Rat. The purpose of this research was to study the ability of probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum JR64 in lowering serum LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) of Wistar Rat. Twenty Rats were grouped into 4, each group consisted of 5 Rats. First Group was a negative control  given standard normal diet of 20 gr/day plus aquadest. Second Grup was a positive control given cholesterol normal diet 20 gr /day plus Propil Tio Urasil (PTU) 60 mg/kg body weight/day. Third Group was supplemented with normal diet 20 gr /day plus Propil Tio Urasil (PTU) 60 mg  kg body weight /day and  1012 CFU Lactobacillus plantarum JR64. Fourth Group was the same as third Group unless the probiotic using commercial probiotic Lactobacillus bulgariccus at 1012 CFU. Blood samples were withdrawn for measurement of total cholesterol, triglyceride, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol every week and measured by using spectrophotometer with 546 nanometers wavelength. The results show that probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum JR64 isolated from noni juice significantly (p < 0,01) reduce Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and Triglyceride in vivo  and tend to reduce High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and total cholesterol.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis manfaat ekonomis penerapan konsep produksi bersihberdasarkan altematif terpilih untuk perbalkan proses pada industri karet remah yang dapal meningkatkanefisiensi dan mengurangi resiko pencemaran dan dapat diterapkan pada penyedia bahan baku (petani karet,KUD, dan pedagang pengumpul) dan pengolahan bokar menjadi karet remah (pabrik karet remah). Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep produksi bersih pada industri karet remah berbasis karetrakyat yang diterapkan pada tahap penyediaan bahan baku dan pada tahap pengolahan bokar menjadi karetremah menghasilkan keuntungan ekonomis dengan (1) penghematan air sebanyak 18,5 m3110n karet kering;(2) penghematan energi senilai Rp. 7.91011on karet kering; (3) tidak diperlukan investasi untuk peralatanpenghilangan bau (malodour); (4) dihindari terjadinya kerugian akibat proses penggantungan selama 14 harisenilai Rp. 70/kg bokar; dan (5) tahapan proses pengolahan bokar menjadi karet remah lebih singkat dengantidak digunakannya mesin hammer-mills. Dampak ekonomis yang bersifat menambah biaya adalah (1)diperlukan investasi tambahan untuk resirkulasi air; (2) investasi fasilitas penggilingan bokar; dan (3) investasibiaya pengolahan Iimbah berupa serum hasil pengpresan bokar pada tingkat petani karet.Kata kunci: produksi bersih, bokar, karet remah, manfaat ekonomis

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the potential use microorganisms which are identified as Aeromonas sp., Pseudomonas $p., Flavobaclerium sp., Plesiomonas sp. and Vibrio sp. Five bacteria strains from sludge of Badung river were identified as Vibrio sp. and Plesiomonas sp. Two anaerobic-aerobic reactors were operated to treat textile waste water. Each reactor contained vulcanic stone to increase spesific surface of media for attachment of bacteria.Bacteria consortia used for anaerobic process consist of Aeromonas sp. (ML6), Aeromonas sp. (ML14), Aeromonas sp. 9ML24), Pseudomonas sp. (ML8) and Flavobacterium sp. (ML20). Whereas, bacteria consortia for aerobic process consist of Plesiomonas sp. (SB1), Plesiomonas sp. (SB2), Vibrio sp.(SB1), Vibrio sp. (SB2) and Vibrio sp. (SB3). The system was operated for 3 day in each reactor. The result showed, biodegradation of textile waste water in combined anaerobic-aerobic system by attached growth process is potential for treatment of textile waste water.This technology is effective to decrease COD value up to 98.38%, BODS 93.90%, TDS 80.87%, TSS 87.50% and decolorization of textile dyes up to 95.57%.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPrakiraan harga terna akarwangi dan harga minyak akarwangi telahdilakukan dengan menggunakan metode jaringan syaraf tiruan. Memakaidata harga dari Januari 2000 sampai Agustus 2006 dilakukan prakiraanharga untuk 24 bulan kedepan. Prakiraan terbaik dengan Mse pelatihandan Mse testing yang rendah didapat pada kombinasi fungsi aktivasi layartersembunyi sigmoid biner dan fungsi aktivasi output sigmoid bipolardengan rentang data transformasi (0,1) untuk prakiraan harga ternaakarwangi. Sedangkan untuk prakiraan harga minyak akarwangi didapatpada fungsi aktivasi layar tersembunyi sigmoid bipolar dan fungsi aktivasioutput sigmoid biner dengan rentang data (0,1). Hasil prakiraan hargamenunjukkan harga rata-rata terna akarwangi dan harga rata-rata minyakakarwangi untuk tahun 2007 dan 2008 masih di atas harga titik impasusahatani maupun usaha agroindustri minyak akarwangi.Kata kunci : Akarwangi, Vetiveria zizanioides L., harga, prakiraan,jaringan syaraf tiruan, Jawa BaratABSTRACTVetiver oil prices forecasting with artificial neuralnetwork methodVetiver and vetiver oil prices forecasting with artificial neuralnetwork method has been done. Time series data from January 2000 toAugust 2006 was used to forecast the prices for 24 months ahead. The bestresult for forecasting of vetiver prices was gotten using sigmoid binaryactivation in hidden layer, sigmoid bipolar activation in output layer andtransformation data spread (0,1). The best result for forecasting of vetiveroil prices was gotten using sigmoid bipolar activation in hidden layer,sigmoid binary activation in output layer and transformation data spread(0,1). The result shows that the average forecasting prices of vetiver andvetiver oil in 2007 and 2008 higher than the prices needed for vetiverfarming and vetiver oil agroindustry to reach break event point.Key words: Vetiveria zizanioides L., prices, forecasting, artificial neuralnetwork, West Jav

Abstract

Strong opinions have been expressed toward oil palm plantation industry in Indonesia, and these opinions portray that oil palm plantation development in Indonesia has caused the destruction of the environment. One of the efforts currently undertaken by the Indonesian government to ensure the sustainability of the palm oil industry is establishing sustainability standard called the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) which is mandatory. ISPO is "guidance" for sustainable oil palm development as well as a commitment based on the laws and regulations aplication of some licenses in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the capability of oil palm plantation companies in the regional to meet the standards of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and to identify the problems faced in achieving these standards. This research was conducted in East Kalimantan province on the period June 2012-May 2013. Evaluation of the capability of the companies to achieve the ISPO standards was performed by the audit method, assessment results of all parameters that had been established in accordance with the Principles, Criteria and Indicators in the provision of ISPO which were assessed in a percent unit. The research results showed that the capability of the plantation companies in East Kalimantan in meeting the ISPO standards reached 79,14%, and this capability can be improved up to 100% by increasing efforts to comply with the principles, criteria and indicators that are still not in accordance with the provisions of ISPO are as follows: 1). Licence system and plantation management, 2). Aplication guidance cultivation technics and processing palm fruit, 3). Management and monitoring invironment, 4). Resposibility to workers, and 5). Social resposibility and community. The determantion factor performance on ISPO standard is the commitment of plantation company as a business stakeholder that supported by capable human resources to create the sustainable plantation development and also the goverment action in charge as the regulator in supervising the policy that has been set. Socialization and training about principles and criteria ISPO standard to plantation company needs soon and more intensively done by the government association with ISPO commission to accelerate the application of the ISPO. Socialization and training also are required in order to overcome the constraints in attainment of principles and criteria of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil standard, because of the mentioned efforts are the part of success factors to apply the ISPO.Keyword: ISPO, Management, Palm Oil, Plantations, Sustainable.

Abstract

Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) is a final waste processing site that accommodates waste from the DKI Jakarta Province. Most of the waste that enters the Bantargebang TPST is piled up at the dumping point in each zone, so this can lead to a new problem, namely the filling of all existing stockpile zones. One of the technologies that can be used to solve the problem of full landfill zones. One technology to overcome this problem is landfill mining. The results of the study related to landfill mining at the Bantargebang TPST were carried out to determine the potential for utilizing landfill mining waste to become RDF feed stock. Based on the study of the composition of landfill mining results carried out, the waste to be used as raw material for RDF is waste with a diameter > 50 mm and which has a high calorific value.

Abstract

The development of sugar industries in Indonesia is influenced by the capability of increasing sugar productivity every year. This increasing is important to handle problem that happened. One of the solutions of the problem, such as sugar loss and inefficiency energy was application of the cleaner production. PG. Tersana Baru have been doing efforts to minimize fuel consumption in milling station. This research objective were to design a processing improvement in milling station through cleaner production approach strategy in reducing sugar loss and increasing energy (steam and fuel) uses efficiency and to build a dynamic model on the influence of imbibitions water to water content of bagasse and sucrose content in milling station at PT. PG. Rajawali II Unit PG. Tersana Baru, West Java. The results of this research indicated a potency for application of a cleaner production approach in PG. Tersana Baru based data collected during 2007 milling season, of which the optimum of imbibitions water was 22.64 %. That condition was achieved in the 8th period of production with fuel energy consumption of 298,466 kcals/ton sugar cane. At this condition, there was possibility for annual energy consumption to be reached by 227,418 kcal/ton sugar cane or equivalent to Rp 764,184,666,153.00. The addition of water imbibitions at the milling process in the dynamic system simulation model was carried out at the interval of 21.20 – 35%. The results in water contents of bagasse of 49.21 – 62.74% and its sucrose contents of 0 – 5.18%.Keywords: Cleaner Production Approach, Imbibitions Water, Efficiency Energy Consumption, Dynamic System Simulation Model
