Abstract

This study examines the application of the parable of the Good Shepherd in contemporary life, focusing on the aspects of spiritual leadership, protection and sacrifice, recognition and obedience, rejection and acceptance, and resurrection and eternal life. Through literature analysis, this study identifies how the concept of the Good Shepherd in John 10:1-21 can be implemented in the daily lives of Christians. Jesus is portrayed as the Good Shepherd, who leads, protects and sacrifices Himself for His sheep. Spiritual leaders in modern times can take this example to guide and serve the congregation with genuine love and sacrifice. This study highlights the importance of knowing and obeying the voice of Jesus, discerning between truth and deception, and living in awareness of the promise of resurrection and eternal life. The results show that this parable remains relevant and provides meaningful guidance for the spiritual and practical lives of Christians.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of the Kingdom of Allah through the parable of the mustard seed in Mark 4:30-34, illustrating its growth from small beginnings to greatness. Using a qualitative method, the research examines how Mark's Gospel emphasizes faith, hope, and transformation. The Kingdom of Allah, as described in Romans 14:17, is about righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit, bestowed upon those who surrender to divine guidance. Mark, though not named in the Gospel, is traditionally recognized as its author. He grew up in Jerusalem and was part of the first generation of Christians, collaborating with Paul, Barnabas, and Peter. The parable of the mustard seed highlights the potential for significant growth from something seemingly insignificant. This metaphor teaches that small faith can become powerful with proper nurturing. The study suggests that this parable encourages developing faith, fostering inclusivity, and striving for sustainable personal and community growth. The message remains relevant today, inspiring individuals to cultivate their faith and contribute positively to their communities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the evangelistic strategy of the Apostle Paul in the city of Athens, as recorded in Acts 17:16-34, focusing on the spread of the Kingdom of God among a society rich in philosophical heritage and religious diversity. Athens, as the intellectual center of the world at that time, presented significant challenges for Paul in conveying the message of Jesus Christ's resurrection. This study employs a qualitative approach to analyze the historical context, biblical text, and related literature. The findings show that Paul used a clever strategy by linking the message of the Kingdom of God to local religious elements, such as the altar to an unknown god. He also engaged in dialogue with philosophers and community leaders, using language and arguments relevant to Greek philosophical thought. Paul's teachings challenged the traditional beliefs of Athenian society regarding idol worship and introduced the concept of a universal God and fundamental spiritual values. The reaction of the Athenians was mixed; some mocked the idea of resurrection, while others, such as Dionysius and Damaris, accepted and believed. Paul's strategy highlights the importance of adaptation, openness, and dialogue in conveying religious messages in pluralistic settings. Love, tolerance, and steadfast faith were identified as key to facing challenges and expanding the influence of the Kingdom of God. This study concludes that despite rejection, success in reaching diverse societies can be achieved through wise and adaptive approaches.

Abstract

The Holy Spirit, as part of the doctrine of the Trinity, plays a vital role in the life of believers and is one of the central topics in Christian theology. As the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit functions as a Comforter, a Guide, and the Giver of spiritual gifts. However, understanding of the Holy Spirit often leads to theological disputes and misunderstandings in church practice. This study aims to provide a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit through a biblical approach, contextual analysis of the contemporary church, and practical application in ministry and spiritual formation. By highlighting the lack of deep theological understanding, the differences in perspectives among denominations, and the impact on the spiritual growth of congregations, this research offers strategies and guidance for the church to live more tangibly and balanced under the leading of the Holy Spirit. Through this study, it is expected that Christians will increasingly recognize the importance of the Holy Spirit's role in their personal lives, church communities, and missions amid the challenges of the present age.

Abstract

Eschatology, or the doctrine of the end times, is a branch of theology that discusses the final events in world history, including the second coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and eternal life. This topic becomes the core of hope in the faith of many believers, while also giving rise to various interpretations and understandings. This article examines the concept of eschatology based on Biblical perspectives, from the promises in the Old Testament, the teachings of Jesus Christ, to the visions of the Apostle John in the book of Revelation. In addition, this article highlights the relevance of the doctrine of the end times for the lives of believers today, as well as the attitudes that should be taken while awaiting the fulfillment of God's promises.

Abstract

This paper present a theological examination of the nature of humanity and the doctrine of sin within the framework of Christian thought, with particular emphasis on biblical foundations. According Scripture, human beings were created in the imago Dei-bearing the image and likeness of God-but subsequently fell into sin trought deliberate disobedience. This fall resulted in a fractured relationship with God, interpersonal alienation, and disorder within the created order. The study systematically analyzes, the origin, nature, and consequences of sin, while also addressing the redemptive provision offered trought the person and work of Jesus Christ. The aim is to foster a deeper theological comprehension of humanity’s fallen condition and the transformative power of divine grace. In doing so, the paper seeks to encourage a life of continual repentance, spiritual renewal, and faithfull obedience in response to God’s salvific intiative.
