Abstract

This study aims to identify how to implement culturally responsive teaching in grade IV of SDN Inpres 1 Birobuli. The method used was qualitative descriptive with the subject of grade IV students of SDN Inpres 1 Birobuli, the respondents of this study were students with a total of 27 people and teachers of grade IV A of SDN Inpres 1 Birobuli. The instruments in this study are observation sheets, interview guidelines, document studies and questionnaires. Data collection was carried out by conducting observations, interviews, document studies, and questionnaires. The data analysis used was a qualitative analysis from Miles and Huberman. The results of the research show that the implementation of culturally responsive teaching at SDN Inpres 1 Birobuli has created inclusive and meaningful learning by integrating local culture. This method improves students' understanding, motivation, and tolerance, although it still needs optimization in all subjects. If this method is applied more consistently, it is expected to produce a younger generation that appreciates cultural diversity. The implication of this study is that the implementation of culturally responsive teaching (CRT) at SDN Inpres 1 Birobuli can create inclusive and meaningful learning by integrating local culture, which enhances students' understanding, motivation, and tolerance towards diversity. Although it has shown positive results, the implementation of this method still needs to be optimized across all subjects. Therefore, continuous efforts are required in teacher training and providing teaching materials that support the integration of local culture in learning, in order to produce a younger generation that appreciates and preserves Indonesia's cultural diversity.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of local wisdom-based character education management through the “Molaulita” culture at an elementary school. General Background: Character education is essential for developing intellectually capable, morally grounded, and culturally rooted students. Specific Background: Integrating local wisdom into school activities offers a contextual approach to strengthen character formation and cultural identity. Knowledge Gap: Previous practices often lack systematic management and fail to consistently integrate local wisdom into structured educational programs. Aims: This study aims to describe the “Molaulita” culture and analyze its management in supporting character education at SD GKST Peura. Results: Findings show that “Molaulita,” implemented through weekly co-curricular storytelling in the Poso (Pamona) language, functions as both cultural preservation and a medium for character development, fostering communicative skills, responsibility, patriotism, and curiosity. The program is managed through planning, organizing, actuating, controlling, and evaluating, involving school leaders, teachers, and students. Novelty: The study provides an empirical model of character education management grounded in local culture through structured co-curricular activities. Implications: The findings highlight the potential of integrating local wisdom into educational management to support sustainable character development and cultural preservation in elementary education. Highlights:• Weekly storytelling activities embed cultural language use in classroom practice• Management functions structure co-curricular programs for character formation• Student traits develop through routine participation and guided reflection Keywords: Education Management; Character Education; Local Wisdom; Molaulita; Elementary School

Abstract

Abstract

The use of technology in education is increasingly becoming a crucial need in today's digital era. However, many elementary school teachers have not yet fully utilized digital teaching materials and technology-based learning media. Therefore, this community service program aims to strengthen elementary school teachers' competencies in developing digital teaching materials and technology-based learning media. The most appropriate method for the program Strengthening Elementary School Teacher Competence in Developing Digital Teaching Materials and Technology-Based Learning Media is a practice-based training method integrated with ongoing mentoring. This activity includes socialization, training, Technology Implementation, Mentoring and Evaluation of Activities and Program Sustainability. Basic understanding of the use of technology in learning, training in creating interactive learning media, and developing digital teaching materials that align with curriculum requirements are provided. The results of this community service program demonstrate an increase in teachers' ability to utilize technology as an effective learning tool. Teachers are able to develop digital teaching materials that are engaging and easy for students to understand, and utilize technology-based learning media to support a more creative and innovative learning process. These results have significant significance in improving the quality of elementary education by strengthening teachers' abilities in the appropriate use of technology. Thus, strengthening teacher competency in this field will contribute to improving the quality of education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that cause the low understanding of multiplication concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 4 Lolu. Understanding multiplication concepts is an important foundation in elementary school mathematics learning because it influences students’ ability to learn more advanced mathematical material. However, in reality, many students still experience difficulties in understanding the concept of multiplication properly. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects were fourth-grade students of SD Inpres 4 Lolu. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation in the field to determine the level of students' understanding of multiplication concepts. The collected data were then analyzed to identify the factors that influence students' low understanding. The results of the study show that the low understanding of multiplication concepts is influenced by several factors, including the lack of understanding of the basic concept of repeated addition, less varied teaching methods, low student interest and learning motivation, and the limited use of instructional media that support conceptual understanding. In addition, the learning environment and the lack of practice also affect students' ability to understand multiplication concepts. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that improving students' understanding of multiplication concepts requires the use of more varied teaching methods, the use of engaging learning media, and sufficient practice so that students can better understand multiplication concepts.
