Abstract

Tanaman kakao atau kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan di Indonesia yang mempunyai peranan penting dalam menunjang  perekonomian nasional dan kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Data BPS Kabupaten Manggarai Timur menunjukkan produksi tanaman kakao mengalami peningkatan pada 2 tahun terakhir, namun produktivitas kakao di Kabupaten Manggarai Timur masih tergolong rendah karena hanya berada di angka 3,3, ton/ha. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra (YDBA) yang merupakan salah satu CSR dari PT. Astra International berkolaborasi dengan salah satu Perguruan Tinggi di Kabupaten Ngada yakni Sekolah Tinggi Pertanian Flores Bajawa (STIPER FB) guna mengubah pola pikir petani kakao di wilayah Manggarai Timur sehingga dapat melaksanakan kegiatan budidaya tanaman kakao berdasarkan SOP yang ada sehingga pelaksanaan tata kerja produksi kakao secara benar, tertib dan tepat, untuk diperoleh produktivitas optimal. Metode pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi pemberian materi terkait Manajemen Teknis Budidaya Tanaman Kakao dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan pencatatan harian terkait semua kegiatan pemeliharaan tanaman kakao. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah para petani kakao di  salah satu binaan yaitu para petani binaan mulai bisa untuk melakukan teknis budidaya tanaman kakao yang baik dan disesuaikan dengan SOP yang telah dibuat.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Borong, Kabupaten Manggarai Timur, sebagai bagian dari implementasi kurikulum BMW (Bekerja, Melanjutkan, Wirausaha) pada jurusan Agribisnis Pengolahan Hasil Pertanian. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru dalam mengidentifikasi produk unggulan berbasis mata pelajaran penciri melalui pendekatan teaching factory yang selaras dengan standar industri. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi dan pendampingan. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengkaji potensi produk lokal yang dimiliki sekolah, dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan workshop dan pendampingan kepada para guru guna mengarahkan proses identifikasi dan pengembangan produk unggulan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik dalam merancang pembelajaran berbasis produk unggulan, baik produk utama maupun produk hasil olahan limbah. Produk-produk tersebut meliputi pengolahan kopi, kakao, nanas, singkong, dan tomat yang disesuaikan dengan mata pelajaran di masing-masing tingkat kelas. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong terbentuknya perangkat pembelajaran yang relevan dan berorientasi industri serta memperkuat hubungan antara sekolah dan dunia usaha/dunia industri. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian ini berkontribusi terhadap penguatan kapasitas guru dan peningkatan mutu pembelajaran di SMK berbasis kebutuhan lokal dan industri.

Abstract

Pengendalian Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) pada kakao merupakan tantangan utama bagi petani di Desa Boba, Kecamatan Golewa Selatan, Kabupaten Ngada, yang mayoritas berprofesi sebagai petani. Serangan hama seperti penggerek buah kakao dan penyakit seperti busuk buah menyebabkan menurunnya produktivitas secara signifikan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kapasitas petani dalam mengenali serta mengendalikan hama dan penyakit tanaman kakao melalui pendekatan partisipatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan materi tentang jenis-jenis hama dan penyakit utama pada tanaman kakao, diskusi kelompok terfokus (Focus Group Discussion), serta kunjungan lapangan ke kebun petani untuk observasi langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa petani sangat antusias dan aktif terlibat dalam seluruh tahapan kegiatan. Mereka menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dalam identifikasi gejala serangan dan pemilihan metode pengendalian yang sesuai, seperti sanitasi kebun, pemangkasan, serta penggunaan insektisida secara bijak. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan penyuluhan berbasis praktik langsung efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas lokal petani dalam pengelolaan kakao secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dilanjutkan secara berkala sebagai bagian dari program revitalisasi tanaman kakao di wilayah tersebut.

Abstract

The production and growth of Oryza sativa L. rice plants are crucial for maintaining the long-term viability of food agriculture. The purpose of this study was to assess how liquid organic fertilizer affected the growth of the rice cultivars Kusuma 06 and Inpari 30. The study was carried out in Pape Village, which is situated in Bajawa Sub-district, Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, from January to April of 2024. The research method involved the application of liquid organic fertiliser to Inpari 30 and Kusuma 06 rice plants in the field during the research period. The height, number of leaves, and number of tillers on rice plants were noted, as well as the infestation rate of false whiteflies and brown stem leafhoppers. The results demonstrated that liquid organic fertiliser exerted a significant influence on rice plant growth, with enhanced plant height, leaf number, and tiller number observed in plants treated with liquid organic fertiliser. Furthermore, the infestation of false white pests and brown stem leafhoppers also exerted a notable impact on the growth and yield of rice plants, resulting in a reduction in grain production and substantial economic losses. The results of research conducted in Pape Village, Bajawa District, Ngada Regency indicated that the Inpari 30 rice variety yielded 9 sacks, while the Kusuma 06 variety yielded 7 sacks. The productivity of the Inpari 30 rice variety was found to be superior, particularly among wetland rice farmers. Consequently, the application of liquid organic fertiliser and integrated pest control is crucial to the practice of paddy rice farming in order to achieve optimal yields.

Abstract

Bamboo is a non-timber forest product (NTFP) commodity that has high SEE (Social, Economic and Ecological) benefits for meeting community needs and as a soil and water conservation commodity. However, the bamboo population is currently relatively small because bamboo development is still not optimal either by the government or the community, and especially the community thinks that bamboo is only used or exploited by lower class people and has little economic value. Currently, bamboo is used as an industrial tree or commodity with high economic value and industrial demand is relatively high, so its population needs to be increased, especially by the community, because bamboo cultivation is relatively easy and does not require large investments. Basically, the feasibility study for the technical, social and ecological aspects of bamboo cultivation used in this research is to carry out an analysis of the environmental conditions of the bamboo development area in Golewa District, Ngada Regency. This analysis then produces recommendations for the feasibility of developing bamboo cultivation at that location, in this way it will be possible to obtain things that are obstacles in the technical development of bamboo cultivation in Golewa District, Ngada Regency. The results of this research show that technically the development of intensive bamboo cultivation has the potential to be considered feasible because it has human resources that are ready to be trained, good physical infrastructure is available, and communication networks are already available. However, there are several notes to pay attention to, namely that human resources who have knowledge about intensive bamboo cultivation are still limited. It is necessary to carry out continuous counseling and assistance efforts for intensive cultivation and utilize available communication networks by establishing a market information system for bamboo trading.

Abstract

Moringa plants are excellent because they have high nutritional content, and economic value and are resistant to drought. This study aims to map potential opportunities and directions for developing moringa product businesses to support food security. The method used is a literature study method by collecting material from previous research. The results of the study show that moringa business opportunities in East Nusa Tenggara Province are very wide open for anyone. The number of moringa companies in this area is relatively small. Developing the moringa business to support food security by establishing policy direction, namely encouraging people to utilize the potential of dry land and increasing training and assistance in diversifying processed moringa products such as nuggets, noodles, pudding, cakes, tea, and moringa sticks into superior products in overcoming the problem of stunting and improving community income. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that developing Moringa into a superior product can create high added value, thereby providing large profits for managers and creating large employment opportunities for the community.. Key-words: Development, Food security, Moringa INTISARITanaman kelor menjadi primadona karena memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi, bernilai ekonomis, dan tahan terhadap kekeringan. Hampir semua bagian dari tanaman kelor dapat  bermanfaat untuk kehidupan manusia. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan peluang potensi serta arah pengebangan usaha produk kelor dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi pustaka dengan mengumpulkan bahan hasil penelitian sebelumnya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa peluang usaha kelor di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur sangat terbuka luas bagi siapapun. Jumlah perusahaan kelor di wilayah ini tergolong sedikit. Pengembangan usaha kelor dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan dengan menetapkan arah kebijakan yakni mendorong masyarakat memanfaatkan potensi lahan kering dan meningkatkan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam  memversifikasi produk olahan kelor seperti nugget, mie, pudding, kue, teh, dan stik kelor menjadi produk unggulan dalam mengatasi persoalan stunting serta meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Berdasarkan hasil kajian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan kelor menjadi produk unggulan dapat mencipatkan nilai tambah yang tinggi sehingga memberikan keuntungan yang besar bagi pengelolah serta menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan yang luas bagi masyarakat.  Kata kunci: Kelor, Ketahanan pangan, Pengembangan

Abstract

The rate of yield loss in rice plants has not changed much, over a period of 15 years. This loss process occurs at every stage of rice production, from harvesting, threshing, drying, transportation, milling and storage. In the process of threshing rice, many methods are used, among others, by means of threshing, stepping on, pedal thresser and power threser. From the results of research conducted at the Adaptation Test Location of Were III Village, South Golewa District, Ngada Regency, the rice threshing process is carried out using a thresher machine (power threser). The research method used is a qualitative research method, this is because the researcher analyzes the phenomena and events of loss of yield due to threshing that occurs in the field. Based on data from research results at the Adaptation Test Location of Were Village III, Golewa Selatan District, Ngada Regency, it can be seen that the percentage of yield loss obtained in this study was 13.5%, which is higher than the existing theory. This is supported by the conditions that occurred at the time of the study where there were many factors that caused a lot of yield loss in Ciherang varieties, including inadequate technology, not optimal use of time and frequent damage to the equipment used.Keywords: 3-5 keywords,  author guidelines; agriculture journal; article template  Keywords: yield loss, rice plants, factors INTISARITingkat kehilangan hasil pada tanaman padi masih belum banyak berubah, selama kurun waktu 15 tahun. Proses kehilangan ini terjadi pada setiap tahapan produksi padi, mulai dari panen, perontokan, pengeringan, pengangkutan, penggilingan dan penyimpanan. Dalam proses perontokan padi banyak metode yang dilakukan antara lain dengan cara gebot, diinjak, pedal threser dan power threser. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Lokasi Uji Adaptasi Desa Were III, Kecamatan Golewa Selatan, Kabupaten Ngada, proses perontokan padi dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin perontok (power threser). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah  metode penelitian kualitatif  hal ini dikarenakan peneliti melakukan analisis fenomena dan peristiwa kehilangan hasil akibat perontokan yang terjadi di lapangan. Berdasarkan data dari hasil penelitian di Lokasi Uji Adaptasi Desa Were III Kecamatan Golewa Selatan Kabupaten Ngada, maka dapat diihat bahwa persentasi kehilangan hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini adalah sebesar 13,5% dimana hasil tersebut lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan teori yang ada. Hal itu didukung dengan keadaan yang terjadi pada saat penelitian dimana terdapat banyak faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya banyak kehilangan hasil pada tanaman padi varietas ciherang antara lain teknologi belum memadai, pemanfaatan waktu yang belum maksimal serta sering terjadi kerusakan pada alat yang digunakan. Kata kunci: kehilangan hasil, tanaman padi, faktor-faktor

Abstract

This study aims to determine and identify pests that attack Inpari 30 rice plants in Pape Village, Bajawa District, Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province by making direct observations in the field. This research was carried out starting from February to May 2023. The research object was in the rice fields owned by farmers. This research was descriptive qualitative, namely observing and identifying 30 inpari rice pests that were seen during direct observation on 25 acres of farmer's land in Pape Village. Sampling by cluster sampling method Pest sampling technique is determined by saturated sampling method because all members of the pest population are used as samples. The results of observations in the field indicate that observations in the morning are the first detection of pests in the field. Types of pests include: False white pests, golden snails, grasshoppers, white stem borer (Scirpophaga innotata), green leafhoppers, brown planthoppers, stinging bugs (Leptocorixa acuta) and sparrows. Keywords: Identification, Pests, Diseases of Inpari 30 Rice Plants INTISARIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengidentifikasi hama yang menyerang tanaman padi Inpari 30 di Desa Pape Kecamatan Bajawa Kabupaten Ngada Provinsi Nusa tenggara Timur dengan melakukan pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan. Penelitian ini telah laksanakan terhitung mulai  Februari sampai dengan bulan Mei 2023. Obyek penelitian di lahan sawah  milik petani. Penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif yakni mengamati dan mengidentifikasi jenis hama padi inpari 30 yang terlihat pada saat pengamatan langsung di lahan milik petani seluas 25 are di Desa Pape. Pengambilan sampel dengan metode cluster sampling teknik pengambilan sampel hama ditentukan dengan metode sampling jenuh karena semua anggota populasi hama digunakan sebagai sampel. Hasil pengamatan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pengamatan di pagi hari merupakan pendeteksi awal keberadaan hama di lapangan. Jenis hama yang diantaranya: Hama putih palsu, keong mas, belalang, penggerek batang putih (Scirpophaga innotata), wereng hijau, wereng coklat, walang sangit (Leptocorixa acuta) dan burung pipit. Kata kunci: Identifikasi, Hama, Penyakit Tanaman Padi Inpari 30

Abstract

Cocoa farming is one of the main sources of livelihood for the people of Takatunga 1 Village, South Golewa District, Ngada Regency. However, its development still faces several challenges such as limited capital, pest and disease attacks, and price fluctuations that affect farmers' income. This study aims to identify the internal and external factors that influence cocoa farming and to formulate strategies for its development in Takatunga 1 Village, South Golewa District, Ngada Regency. The research method uses a descriptive approach with SWOT analysis through the formation of IFAS, EFAS, IE matrices, and SWOT matrix analysis. The results of the study indicate that internal factors include strengths such as good quality cocoa beans, sufficient land area, and farmers' experience in cocoa cultivation, while the main weaknesses are pest and disease attacks, limited capital, and low knowledge of cultivation technology. External factors consists of opportunities in the form of high market demand and government support, while threats come from cocoa price fluctuations and market competition. The IE matrix analysis places the position of the cocoa farming business in Takatunga 1 Village in quadrant II (grow and build), so the appropriate SO strategy is an intensive strategy through market penetration and product development. Thus, the development of cocoa farming can be directed towards improving product quality, expanding market access through cooperation with cooperatives or buyers from other regions, and increasing farmer capacity through counseling and training.
