Abstract

Background: Food additives are substances intentionally added to food to affect the nature of the food one is formalin. Formalin in food could have a negative impact on public health. Preliminary studies showed that salted fish identified positively to contain formalin. The purpose of this study was to determine the formaldehyde content in the salted fish sold in the Gulf Coast Region Penyu Cilacap. Method: The study was descriptive qualitative research with laboratory approach. Primary data were obtained from laboratory tests on interviews with anchovies and salted fish traders.. Respondents were 23 traders anchovies in the coastal region of Penyu Gulf, Cilacap district. The instrument of this sutdy were the questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge and attitudes of respondents. This study used 13 samples of salted fish. Results: This study used 13 samples of salted fish. The results showed that there is one sample of dried fish (7.69%) positively identified to contain formalin. In addition, the level of knowledge of 15 respondents are still in the category is not well in spite of the attitude shown by the 20 respondents have either. Source anchovies that are sold at most be obtained by purchase from manufacturers found in 13 respondents while the way to buy and own production of each found as many as five respondents. Conclusion: One sample of salted fish sold in the Penyu Gulf, Cilacap district have positively identified to contain formalin. The level of knowledge respondents categorized not good when the respondents' attitudes toward the use of formaldehyde has been good. Therefore, a tight control by the parties involved in minimizing the use of formaldehyde as well as socialization formaldehyde hazard to health.

Abstract

Background: Palm oil industry in Indonesia is divided into two there are cooking oil and branded cooking oil. Currently there are a variety of branded cooking oil advantages, one of which is the fortification of vitamin A. Based on previous research it is known that 90% of households do frying as much as 4-8 times per day. Cooking oil used repeatedly can oxidize (react with air) so increasing levels of peroxide. Consumption of cooking oil containing high peroxide can cause health problems such as gastrointestinal irritation, diarrhea, and cancer. This study aims to determine the effect of the increase in the frequency of frying peroxide on cooking oil and cooking oil fortification of vitamin A was used. Method: This was experimental research with quasy experimental design. The research object in this study was cooking oil and vitamin A fortification of cooking oil used to fry out. Peroxide measurements made on a grill to 0, 1, 2, 3,4 with three repetitions in each cooking oil. Result: On average the lowest peroxide contained in the zero frying process was equal to 5.27 Mek O2/Kg (cooking oil) and 0.83 Mek O2/Kg (vitamin A fortification of cooking oil) and continued to increase until the fourth frying at 18.86 Mek O2/Kg (cooking oil) and 17.48 Mek O2/Kg (vitamin A fortification of cooking oil). Cooking oil used repeatedly peroxide can affect the increase in cooking oil (P value 0.010) and vitamin A fortification of cooking oil (P value 0.012) and no differences peroxide between cooking oil and vitamin A fortification oil (p value  0.065). Conclusion: There were the influence of the frying  process to the increased frequency of peroxide value on cooking oil. There were the effect of the increase in the frequency of peroxide  value frying cooking oil fortification on vitamin A. Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Tingkat pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi, menyebabkan meningkatnya  konsumsi energi. Beberapa jenis sumber energi alternatif yang bisa dikembangkan yaitu energi  biomassa. Potensi limbah biomassa terdiri dari sektor perkebunan yaitu tebu, kelapa sawit,  kelapa, karet, kopi dan coklat yang dapat diolah menjadi briket bioarang. Dalam pembuatan  briket bioarang memerlukan perekat sebagai penyatu bubuk arang dan mempengaruhi nilai  kalor. Penelitian ini menggunakan briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dan tempurung kelapa  dengan konsentrasi perekat yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui   perbedaan pemberian konsentrasi perekat pada briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dan  tempurung kelapa terhadap waktu didih air.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain rancangan static group comparisons. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dan tempurung kelapa dengan konsentrasi perekat 600cc, 700cc, 800cc, dan 900cc, untuk mengetahui waktu mendidihkan air sebanyak 1000ml.Hasil Penelitian: Uji Anova dengan nilai sig 0,289 > dari 0,05, yang berarti tidak ada perbedaan nyata waktu didih air antar konsentrasi yang berbeda pada briket bioarang tandan kosong  sawit. Uji Anova dengan nilai sig 0,197, yang berarti tidak ada perbedaan nyata waktu didih air pada tempurung kelapa. Uji t-test didapatkan nilai sig 0,201, sehingga tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan untuk perbedaan waktu didih air briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dengan tempurung kelapa.Simpulan: Tidak ada perbedaan nyata waktu didih air pada konsentrasi yang berbeda pada briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dan tempurung kelapa. Tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata waktu didih air antara briket bioarang tandan kosong sawit dengan tempurung kelapa. Kata Kunci: Waktu didih air, briket bioarang, konsentrasi perekat, tandan kosong sawit, tempurung kelapa

Abstract

Background : Vegetables can be eaten by fully or in portion on fresh condition (lalapan) or in be cooked. Fresh vegetables (lalapan) useful for the healthy of our bodies caused have good nutrition that relative high in vitamine and mineral shape, and one kind of thats vegetables is cabbage or kol. Cabbage which have been cleaned may still find the germs agent for example is the intestinal nematode. In Indonesia, intestinal nematode remain caused the serious public health problem, are Ascaris lumbricoides, hook worm and Trichuris trichiura. Soil, vegetables and water are the important one of the transmission way of the eggs of intestinal nematode, if there found many eggs of intestinal nematodes on the contamination sources (like vegetables, soil and the others) automatically will followed with the increasing of endemic degree.Method : This was descriptive qualitative research using laboratory enclosed. The cabbage that are used for examination materials, cabbage that usually use on food court especially pedestrian food court (warung makan lesehan) which sold on the midle of the city Wonosari Gunungkidul Yogyakarta. To make sediment of the eggs of intestinal nematode is used NaOH 0,2% solution as detergent solution. The practice of this exam use sedimentation technique and than be checked the diagnosting on microscope. The result of data that shown on therefore any contamination or yet the eggs of intestinal nematode, the kind of species of intestinal nematode and infective stage of those species. Data will be analyzed in descriptive qualitative statistic and been shown on table and chart.Result: The result of this research showed that there any contamination of the eggs of intestinal nematode from the cabbage (Brassica oleracea) that was been analyzed (38,89%), for the species of the eggs of intestinal nematode that shown positive samples are found Ascaris lumbricoides (50%), hook worm (12,5%) and Trichuris trichiura (37,5%). The infective stage that known is only one kind of infective stage that is an infective stage from Ascaris lumbricoides egg. Conclution: There was any contamination of the eggs of intestinal nematode on the cabbage (Brassica oleracea) that used for fresh vegetable menu (lalapan) on pedestrian food court in the midle of the city Wonosari Gunungkidul Yogyakarta.Keyword : Contamination, Cabbage (Brassica oleracea), The eggs of intestinal nematode

Abstract

Background : Various human activities will generate waste. Trash can pollute the environmentand as home to a wide range of diseases that can reduce the degree of human health, so thatthe waste be managed properly. Sukunan village was already implementing community-basedintegrated waste processing were independent and productive, clean and beautiful environmentthat involves all citizens in the implementation. The kitchen garbage management in thesukunan village is included in the composter to be composted with the results of liquid bybacterial degradation of organic material in the form of leachate. Leachate by the communitySukunan village used for liquid fertilizer plant and sold. The purpose of this study determined thegenus of aerobic bacteria in the leachate of kitchen garbage result in Sukunan village.Method : This research type was the descriptive research with laboratory test. The sample inthis study was leachate of Sukunan village kitchen garbage result. The study was conducted intwo places, in the Public Health Laboratory of Ahmad Dahlan University and in the YogyakartaHealth Laboratory Central. The results of data analysis was described in descriptive studies andpresented in tabular and narrative.Results : Identification of aerobic bacteria was carried in the Public Health Laboratory of theAhmad Dahlan University get the bacteria that approached the characteristics of the genusPseudomonas, Bacillus, and Escherichia / Salmonella / Aeromonas / Chromobacterium, whilethe results of identification carried out in the Health Laboratory Central in Yogyakarta got thebacterial genus such as Streptococcus (species : Enterococcus faecalis), Escherichia (species:Escherichia coli), Pseudomonas (species: Pseudomonas putrifaciens) and Proteus (species:Proteus vulgaris).Conclusion : There has aerob bacteria in the leachate of kitchen garbage results in theSukunan Village, Yogyakarta.Keywords : Aerobic Bacteria, Leachate

Abstract

Background : Treatment of textile waste industry, including batik can be implemented with a biodegradation. Biodegradation by bacteria carried either aerobic or anaerob. The bacteria are widely found in nature. On the other hand, the presence of bacteria in nature also function to decompose the waste. Own waste as a potential waste in the community. The use of environmental biotechnology is possible to simultaneously address the environmental pollution caused by waste and garbage batik. The purpose of this study was to investigate to find out the difference amount of in degrading microbial in leachet, the difference in content of organic C, N, and P in leachet as a nutrient for degrading microbial growth, the effectiveness of the use leachet biodegradation in the process of batik , and to determine the effectiveness of different leachet in the biodegradation process of batik waste management.Methods : This was quantitative study with laboratory test to determine differences in the effectiveness of the use of leachet.Results : The content contained microbs / bacteria so that the possibility of a biological process can be implemented. There wave had of N, P, K nutrients in leachet for bacteria, waste pollution parameters decreased but didn?t significantly improve the quality of batik waste.Conclusion : There was no significant reduction the quality of batik waste.Key words : waste, leachet, garbage, batik.

Abstract

The purpose of empowerment program is to make community ready to as a tourist destinations nature and culture while maintaining the value health , the community be able to apply occupational health and safety ( K3 ) And visitors to theofficers and The community can provide the best services in fulfilling the needs and expectations of tourists. The society such as the target counseling consisting of cadres, youth and Pokdarwis. Counseling and training done by using the method Lectures , the screening of video , follow up of the discussion as well as filling out of the questionnaires pre-post test About public knowledge that deals with tourism activities to be built by caturharjo village. The impact of this activity is to the local community and the village administration who want to embodying a tourist village this is Having knowledge of occupational health and safety In the tourism, So that the community or the management tours can give first aid and education to visitors when the accident on a visitor or a disaster happened.

Abstract

Bambanglipuro sub-district is a sub-district in the lowlands. The Capital District is 22 meters above sea level. Distance of the Capital District to the Government Center (Capital) of Bantul Regency is 10 Km. Bambanglipuro sub-district has a climate like a low-lying area in the tropics with hot weather as its trademark. The highest temperature recorded in Bambanglipuro sub-district is 31ºC with the lowest temperature of 23ºC. The area stretch in Bambanglipuro sub-district is 99.5% in the form of flat to choppy areas and 0.5% in the form of choppy to hilly areas. The purpose of this service was to create a community of Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro sub-district who is independent, especially in terms of waste management and to improve the economy of Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro sub-district through the results of waste management in the environment. The method used in this service is through counseling and training on waste management located in Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro sub-district in February 2020 with a predetermined date. Community service has been carried out well and smoothly. Sumbermulyo Village Community Bambanglipuro sub-district shows a positive response and plays an active role in all the activities carried out. The community wants that there is further guidance, especially in the field of waste management so that community empowerment can run optimally

Abstract

Latar Belakang: lalat salah satu vektor mekanik karena menyebabkan penyakit secara tidak langsung. Semua bagian lalat berperan sebagai alat penular penyakit, dari badan, bulu tangan dan kaki, feses, serta muntahannya. Fly Grilladakah salah satu teknik pengendalian lalat dengan melihat kepadatan lalat disuatu tempat. Alat ini dapat diberikan variasi warna karena serangga memiliki ketertarikan kepada gelombang warna yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kepadatan lalat pada variasi warna pada Fly Grill.Metode: Penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Perlakuan denganFly Grillyang berbeda warna (kuning, biru, hijau, putih) dan kontrol (bambu tanpa diberi cat).Pengukuran pada tiga titik ukur (0, 1, 2 m dari tempat pemotongan). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunkan uji ANOVA dengan derajat kesalahan α 0,05.dilanjutkan dengan  uji Post hoc Benferroni.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkanada perbedaan signifikan rata rata jumlah lalat yang terperangkap pada Fly Grillyang berbeda warna. Antara Fly Grillwarna kuning- biru diperoleh nilai p value 0,030<α (0,05) artinya terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara Fly Grillwarna kuning dan biru. Sedangkan  antara Fly Grillwarna biru- putih diperoleh nilai p value 0,037<α (0,05) artinya terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara Fly Grillwarna biru dan putih.Simpulan: Ada perbedaan nyara kepadatan lalat pada Fly Grill warna Putih, Kuning, Biru, Hijau, dan Kontrol. Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada kepatan lalat pada Fly Grill warna kuning-biru dan Fly Grill warna biru-putih. Warna Kuning paling tinggi kepadatan lalatnya sedangkanwarna biru warna yang paling rendah kepadatan lalatnya ABSTRACT Title : The effects of colour variation on fly grill toward the density of flies: a case study in the chicken abattoir of Terban traditional market,  Yogyakarta Background: Fly is one mechanic vector because it causes disease indirectly. All parts of fly play role in transferring disease, from body, feathers of hands and feet, feces, and vomiting. One technique to understand fly density in one location is to use Fly Grill. This tool can be given varying colors because this insect has attraction to different color waves. A research was done to understand difference of fly densities in various colors of Fly Grill.Method: The research in this study was quasi experimental. The data were collected by using five Fly Grills with different colors (yellow, blue, green, white and control), conducted in three measuring points (0, 1, and 2m) from Chicken slaughterhouse. The collected data were analyzed by using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) with error degree α=0.05followed by the Post hoc Benferroni test.Results: The result was a significant difference in the average number of flies trapped on different colored Fly Grills. Between yellow and blue Fly Grills indicated that p value 0.30 < α(0.05), that means had significant difference between the yellow and blue Fly Grills, and blue and white Fly Grills indicated that p value 0.037 < α(0.05) that means had significant difference between blue and white Fly Grills.Conclusions: There was a difference in the density of flies on the Fly Grill colors White, Yellow, Blue, Green, and Control There was difference of fly densities in yellow-blue Fly Grills and blue-white Fly Grills in the Chicken slaughterhouse (RPA) in Terban Market, Yogyakarta City. Yellow has the highest density of flies while blue has the lowest density of flies

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pengepul sampah merupakan sektor informal dalam bidang pengumpulan dan perdagangan sampah layak jual. Pengaruh sampah terhadap kesehatan dikelompokan menjadi efek yang langsung dan tidak langsung. Kontak langsung dengan sampah beracun, sampah yang korosif terhadap tubuh, yang karsinogenik atau teratogenik, dan sampah yang mengandung kuman patogen, dapat menimbulkan penyakit salah satunya dermatitis kontak iritan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan pada petugas pengepul sampah di wilayah Kota Yogyakarta.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik obsevasional dengan desain cross sectional. Subyek penelitian adalah petugas pengepul sampah di wilayah Kota Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 45 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportionale stratified random sampling. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah lama kontak, jenis kelamin dan personal hygiene sedangkan variable terikat adalah keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara kepada responden dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat dengan uji chi-square.   Hasil: Proporsi kejadian dermatitis kontak iritan sebesar 28,9%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara lama kontak dengan keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan (p-value = 0,322; RP = 0,544; CI 95% = 0,174-1,695), tidak ada hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan (p-value = 0,149) dan tidak ada hubungan antara personal hygiene dengan keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan (p-value = 1,067).Simpulan: Tidak ada hubungan antara lama kontak, jenis kelamin, dan personal hygiene dengan keluhan subyektif dermatitis kontak iritan pada putugas pengepul sampah. ABSTRACTTitle: Factors Associated with Subjective Complaints Contact Irritant Dermatitis on Garbage Collector in Yogyakarta City Area Background: Rubbish collector is one of part in informal sector which runs in collecting and demand the economical rubbish. The effect of of rubbish for health can be divided into two, they are direct affection and indirect affection. Direct contact with the rubbish such as poisonous rubbish, corrosive rubbish to the body, carcinogenic rubbish, the rubbish of teratogenicity, and rubbish containing pathogen virus, it could spread the disease which was called  irritant contact of dermatitis.  The aim of trhe research was to find out the factors subjective complaint related to dermatitis contact of irritant with the rubbish collector at central Yogyakarta.Methods: This type of research is an obsevational analytics with cross sectional study design. The subjects of this research are garbage collectors in Yogyakarta City, which are 45 people. Sampling technique using proportionale stratified random sampling. The independent variables in this study were contact time, sex and personal hygiene while the dependent variable was subjective complaint of irritant contact dermatitis. Technique of collecting data in the form of interview to respondent by using questioner. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with chi-square test.Results: The proportion of incidence of irritant contact dermatitis was 28.9%. The result of the analysis showed that there was no correlation between contact duration with subjective complaints of irritant contact dermatitis (p-value = 0.322; RP = 0,544; 95% CI = 0,174-1,695), no relation between sex with subjective complaint of irritant contact dermatitis (p-value = 0.149) and no relationship between personal hygiene and subjective complaints of irritant contact dermatitis (p-value = 1.067).Conclusion: There is no relationship between contact length, sex, and personal hygiene with subjective complaints of irritant contact dermatitis.
