Abstract

The development of information technology has accelerated digital transformation in education, including the utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) as learning media. However, the understanding and skills of teachers and students in using LMS platforms still need improvement, particularly at SMA Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta. Therefore, the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Methodist Indonesia Medan, conducted a Community Service Program in the form of Moodle LMS training for teachers and students. The activity was implemented through training and mentoring methods, including material presentations, Moodle demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and evaluations. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in managing digital classrooms, uploading learning materials, administering assignments, and utilizing Moodle’s assessment features. In addition to enhancing technical competencies, the program also promoted digital literacy and increased awareness of the importance of digital transformation in education. Teachers and students became better prepared to utilize technology as an effective, interactive, and flexible learning tool. Therefore, Moodle LMS training can be considered an effective strategy for supporting the development of digital learning environments in schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the effect of interactive learning media on eighth-grade students at SMP GKPI Padang Bulan. The research method applied was a quasi-experimental design. Based on the results of the study, the average score of the final learning interest questionnaire in the experimental class was 86.26, while the control class obtained an average score of 62.90. It was found that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was < 0.001. Since the significance value was smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, the study indicates that the use of interactive learning media in science subjects, particularly on the topic of the solar system, significantly influences the learning interest of eighth-grade students at SMP GKPI Padang Bulan.

Abstract

These issues affect the effectiveness of students in carrying out academic activities. As a solution, a web-based academic service application was developed with several main features, including the digital submission and management of academic letters to accelerate administrative processes, study program consultation services that enable real-time two-way communication between students and lecturers, and a digital academic archive that provides easy access to important documents such as internship reports, theses, and journals from previous students. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which was implemented systematically through the stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The results of black-box testing showed that all features functioned properly according to user roles (admin, students, and lecturers).
