Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan tepung bunga marigold (Tagetes erecta) terhadap peningkatan warna tubuh ikan badut (Amphiprion percula). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan tepung bunga marigold pada pakan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan warna tubuh ikan badut (Amphiprion percula) dan penambahan tepung bunga marigold 2% merupakan perlakuan terbaik. Penambahan tepung bunga marigold tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan mutlak dan kelangsungan hidup ikan badut. Kata Kunci : Bunga marigold (Tagetes erecta) , ikan badut (Amphiprion percula), karotenoid, kualitas warna.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan komposisi filter berbeda terhadap kualitas air dan terhadap warna ikan nemo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 3 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Komposisi filter yang digunakan yaitu (A) sabut kelapa 0% + kerikil 20% + arang kusambi 30% + zeolit 50%, (B) sabut kelapa 10% + kerikil 20% + arang kusambi 30% + zeolite 40% (C) sabut kelapa 20% + kerikil 20% + arang kusambi 30% + zeolite 30%. Data yang di kumpulkan yaitu kualitas air suhu, salinitas, pH, DO, ammonia, kelulushidupan ikan (SR), warna ikan, berat mutlak dan panjang mutlak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai suhu salinitas, pH, DO dan amonia pada perlakuan A, B dan C menunjukan nilai yang masih dalam batas toleransi hidup ikan. komposisi filter berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelulushidupan (SR), warna ikan serta berat dan panjang mutlak ikan nemo. Perlu adanya penelitian lanjutan terkait komposisi filter perlakuan B (sabut kelapa 10% + kerikil 20% + arang kusambi 30% + zeolit 40%). dimana penggunaan komposisi sabut kelapa 5% dan 15%, komposisi zeolit antara 35% dan 45%. Kata kunci : Ikan nemo, sistem resirkulasi, komposisi filter, sabut kelapa, kerikil, arang kusambi, zeolit.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan yaitu pada Bulan April - Juni 2020, bertempat di Perairan Laut Atapupu, Kabupaten Belu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kedalaman yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan anggur laut (C. lentillifera) yang dibudidayakan pada substrat bambu berbentuk rigid quadrant nets dan untuk mengetahui berapa kedalaman yang terbaik bagi pertumbuhan anggur laut (C. lentillifera) . Pertumbuhan C. lentillifera dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan yang mendukung seperti cahaya, nutrien, arus, dan substrat. Penelitian ini menggunakan kedalaman yang berbeda untuk melihat pertumbuhan anggur laut (C. lentillifera) yang dibudidayakan pada substrat bambu berbentuk rigid quadrant nets. Kedalaman air laut yang digunakan yaitu 30 cm, 60 cm, 90 cm, dan 120 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kedalaman 30 cm merupakan kisaran yang optimal untuk pertumbuhan C. lentillifera karena jumlah pertumbuhan lebih tinggi yaitu 163,33 gram. Kedalaman 30 cm dengan menggunakan substrat bambu berbentuk rigid quadrant nets dapat digunakan sebagai substrat pertumbuhan anggur laut (C. lentillifera). Abstract

One of the parameters that play an important role in the success of vannamei shrimp cultivation is salinity. This study aims to determine the effect of decreasing salinity on the behavior and stress response of vannamei shrimp. The test animals used were vannamei shrimp, which were in logs with an average weight of 4.6 – 6.3g. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with different salinity reduction treatments in each maintenance medium, namely Treatment A without decreasing salinity, Treatment B decreasing salinity 2 ppt per 6 hours for 24 hours, Treatment C decreasing salinity 2 ppt per 4 hours for 24 hours, Treatment D decreased salinity 2 ppt per 2 hours for 24 hours, each treatment was repeated 3 times. Blood glucose was measured after the decrease in salinity and on the last day of the study. Blood glucose collection was carried out at the fifth swimming leg on white shrimp using a 1 ml syringe that had been rinsed using Na Citrate with the aim that the blood glucose taken did not clot quickly. The results showed a decrease in salinity caused by shrimp stress. The concentration of vannamei shrimp blood glucose increased (13.66 – 52.37mg/dl). Treatment D was the best glucose concentration to suppress blood glucose concentrations (13.66mg/dl). Based on the data analysis of blood glucose concentration (p<0.05) it continued with the real difference test. Vannamei shrimp behavior during salinity reduction showed a response that was not different from all treatments. Salinity 6 ppt is good salinity in the process of suppressing blood glucose concentrations when changes in water salinity occur.

Abstract

Padina australis has bioactive compounds as antimicrobials in the form of phenols and their derivatives (flavonoids) which can inhibit the growth of bacteria that interfere with the function of the cytoplasmic membrane and can prevent spoilage and damage by microorganisms. This research was conducted from October to November 2022 at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Nusa Cendana University, Kupang. The purpose of this study was to determine how many doses of Padina australis were effective in treating skin, gill and liver tissue damage of cantang grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus lanceolatus) exposed to detergent. The method used is an experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were control without detergent and Padina australis, 0.25g/l detergent and treatment with Padina australis with doses of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5%. The fish used was grouper cantang (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus lanceolatus) with a size of 8-9 cm. Treatment was done by soaking the fish for 10 minutes with the extract for 3 consecutive days. The fish were then fixed with 95% alcohol solution for further histology. The results showed that the administration of Padina autralis effect on changes in the histology of the skin, gill, and liver of cantang grouper. Changes that occur in the skin in the form of degeneration of vacuoles, in the gill lamellae hemorrhage occurs and the liver undergoes vacuole degeneration and necrosis. The best dose is found in the 1.5% treatment but it has not been effective in treating liver tissue.

Abstract

Akle Bay is one of marine aquaculture area in Semau island and it has coral reef potention. The coverage percentage of coral reef in the ocean might be decline by human activities and also by nature itself. The aimed of this research was analyzed to know the percentage of coral reef coverage in Akle Bay, South Semau District. This study conducted in Akle Bay, South Semau District on May 18, 2023st . Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) was used to take a sample in five meter depth at two different sites in Akle Bay waters. Data was analyzed by software CPCe 4.1. Result showed the highest benthic coverage percentage is soft coral. There were eleven genus of hard coral was found and its dominated by Porites genera. The percentage of hard coral coverage in S1 was 9.14%, while in S2 was 6.11% and was categorized in worst condition. The decline of coral reef coverage percentage in this area was expeted due to of human activities such as coral removal, the usage of anchor and the destructive fishing gear like a bomb, and also a sedimentation. According to the lifeform, covarage percentage of hard coral was dominated by coral branching. The average of current velocity in Akle Bay was 0,417 m/s with the range of waves was 0.1 to 0.5 meters. Conclusion of this research is the percentage of coral coverage in Akle Bay is worst. It was becacuse of human activities and sedimentation.

Abstract

Catfish (Pangasius sp.) is a consumption fish that is quite popular and has a selling value. Fish have tolerance standards for water quantity and quality, so water as a living medium should be managed in aquaculture. One of the water quality parameters that affect the survival of cultured fish is ammonia (NH₃). Ammonia at high concentrations can adversely affect fish, such as reducing the ability of the blood to carry oxygen, damage to body tissues, fish susceptible to disease, inhibiting growth and death. This research aimed to determine the thickness of the coral shard filter, which effectively reduces ammonia (NH₃) in catfish culture. This research was conducted at the Dry Fisheries Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Nusa Cendana. The research started from February 2022 - April 2022. The implementation of this research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely: without coral shards filter (A), treatment using a coral shard filter with a thickness of 5 cm (B), coral shard filter with a thickness of 10 cm (C) and coral shard filter with a thickness of 15 cm (D). Results show that filter coral shards treatment with 5 cm thickness can reduce the concentration of ammonia in the cultivation of fish catfish from a score beginning research of 0.02 mg/L to 0.018 mg/L in the end research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in carbon sources on the growth of catfish (Pangasius sp). The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were tapioca flour, corn starch, and wheat flour with a dose of 2 g/l carbon source water, 0.01 ml/l probiotics, and 3 g/l salts. The research variables observed were the growth pattern of catfish (Pangasius sp), the number of floc volumes, and water quality. The results showed that the performance of bioflocs with different carbon sources resulted in different daily growth patterns of catfish in each treatment, where the highest daily growth pattern was in the 60th-day tapioca flour treatment reaching 1.96%/day, corn starch treatment 1.57 %/day, and wheat flour treatment 1.74%/day. The results of water quality measurements for each treatment were still in the optimal range for the life and growth of catfish. Ammonia reduction in tapioca flour treatment was 0.57 mg/l, corn starch treatment was 0.36 mg/l, while in wheat flour treatment there was no reduction in ammonia due to low temperature at the end of the study so it interfered with bacterial metabolism in assimilating nitrogen can still be tolerated by catfish (Pangasius sp).

Abstract

The research examines opportunities in the dvlopment of venname shrimp cultivation which is one of the main commodities in the pond cultivation business, but there are still many problems facd by farmers in the venname shrimp cultivation development business. The purpose of this research is to find out the effortsand priority strategies that can be applied in developing the venname shrimp business in East Nusa Tenggara. The results that the main opportunity in developing the vennam shrip business is a dafe and controlled environment. While the biggest threat is the price of venname shrimp from other areas which is cheaper. The priority strategy that can b applied to efforts in developing venname shrimp cultivation businesses is by maintaining the quality, promotion of fisheries, venname shrimp distribution networks, partnerships, and private investment to redeem the export market, optimizing empowerment, increasing the number of seeding units and improving the infrastructure facilities for the cultivation site as well as improving the quality of farmers’ resources technically, morally and spiritually throungh coaching activities to maximize the production and competitiveness of venname shrimp.

Abstract

Sungai Tarus Desa Mata Air terletak di Kecamatan Kupang Tengah Kabupaten Kupang. Sungai ini memiliki topografi yang mendukung dan berpotensi untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan sidat, untuk itu perlu adanya kajian keberadaan ikan sidat Anguilla marmorata di sungai Tarus pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ukuran panjang, berat, diameter tubuh ikan sidat Anguilla marmorata yang sering ditemukan pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember di sungai Tarus Desa Mata Air. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-Desember 2021 dan data dianalisis secara deskriptif yang disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan gambar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis ikan sidat Anguilla marmorata yang tertangkap pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember yaitu sebanyak 24 ekor dan memiliki panjang total 37-43 cm, panjang dorsal 20-30 cm, panjang anal 18-25 cm, diameter kepala 5-7 cm, diameter badan 7-9 cm dan berat total 170-181 gr. Berdasarkan ukuran panjang dan berat serta ukuran statistik yang terlihat, maka stadia ikan sidat yang sering tertangkap yaitu yellow eel dan elver.
