Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari karakterisitik Pengeringan Sawut Mocaf menggunakan alat pengering tenaga surya tipe greenhouse. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan mengukur beberapa parameter, yaitu penurunan berat bahan, kadar air, suhu pengering, suhu lingkungan, kelembaban udara dan laju pengeringan. Alat yang digunakan adalah pengering tenaga surya tipe greenhouse, termokopel CA tipe CC (Cooper Constanta), timbangan digital, timbangan analitis, anemometer, rekam data, luxmeter, stopwatch, termometer batang dan alat tulis. Pengambilan data dilakukan setiap 30 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik suhu di dalam ruang pengering ERK yang diukur pada setiap rak dan pada bagian saluran udara keluar melalui exhaust fan. Peningkatan radiasi surya pada umumnya terjadi pada tengah hari yaitu sekitar pukul 12.00 wita sampai pukul 13.00 wita, sedangkan pada saat pemantauan ERK kondisi cuaca cukup berawan sehingga terjadi penurunan radiasi surya. Didapatkan rata-rata temperatur ruang pengering selama pengeringan adalah 39oC, kelembaban udara relatif rata-rata 63%, penurunan berat bahan tiap jam rata-rata 0,95 gram/jam, laju penurunan kadar air rata-rata 55,25% db/jam dari kadar air awal sebesar 67% db sampai kada air mencapai 10%db dan rata-rata Me diperoleh sebesar 14,22%. Dari hasil penelitian pengeringan sawut mocaf yang diperoleh, maka disimpulkan bahwa laju perubahan kadar air MOCAF memiliki karakteristik laju menurun terhadap waktu.

Abstract

Penanaman biji jagung masih dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat tugal. Penggunaan alat tanam seperti ini kurang optimal karena membutuhkan waktu lama dan jarak tanam tidak beraturan. Dengan demikian, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain dan menguji alat tanam biji jagung sistem dorong baris ganda untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas lahan tanpa olah tanah. Penelitian diawali dengan mengidentifikasi kondisi lahan, kemudian menetapkan parameter desain, membuat gambar desain alat, melakukan perakitan, dan uji kinerja alat tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas lapangan aktual (KLA) adalah 0,27 ha/jam, kapasitas lapangan teoritis (KLT) adalah 0,31 ha/jam, dan efisiensi alat (EA) adalah 85,11%. Jarak antar baris tanaman adalah 20,87 cm dan lebar baris tanaman adalah 35,06 cm. Berdasarkan uji lapangan diketahui bahwa alat ini dapat digunakan dengan baik dan bisa mempercepat proses penanaman biji jagung di lahan tanpa olah tanah.

Abstract

Bioplastik merupakan jenis kemasan plastik yang ramah lingkungan karena berasal dari bahan organik sehingga mudah terurai di dalam tanah oleh bantuan mikroorganisme tanah. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan bioplastik dari kombinasi bahan sumber pati yaitu dari pati biji nangka ditambah dengan pati tongkol jagung. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi konsentrasi ZnO 3%, 6%, dan 9% dan gliserol 2 ml, 5 ml, dan 8 ml terhadap sifat mekanik bioplastik. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai tensile strength bioplastik terbesar diperoleh pada perlakuan konsentrasi ZnO sebesar 9% yaitu sebesar 2,5788 MPa. Konsentrasi gliserol berbanding terbalik dengan nilai tensile strength bioplastik, dimana nilai tensile strength tertinggi diperoleh pada konsentrasi gliserol 2 ml, yaitu sebesar 2,2775 MPa. Nilai % elongasi tertinggi diperoleh pada konsentrasi ZnO 3%, yaitu sebesar 13,237%, sedangkan dari pengaruh konsentrasi gliserol, nilai % elongasi tertinggi diperoleh pada konsentrasi gliserol 8 ml yaitu sebesar 13,8643%.

Abstract

This study explores the increasing demand for efficient gas pressure monitoring systems in biodigesters, which play a crucial role in renewable energy production. The primary objective of this research is to design and develop a control and monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) utilizing the ESP32 and ESP32-S3 (Lilygo T Display S3) microcontrollers. An analysis was conducted to assess the connection duration and stability of both microcontrollers, focusing on the time required to establish a WiFi connection and connect to the Arduino IoT Cloud. The results indicate that the ESP32 achieves an initial WiFi connection time of approximately 10 seconds, with total connection durations ranging from 1 minute 3 seconds to 1 minute 36 seconds, while the ESP32-S3 encounters challenges in maintaining stable connectivity, resulting in total connection times between 1 minute 7 seconds and 1 minute 21 seconds due to certificate validation issues. These findings underscore the importance of selecting the appropriate microcontroller to optimize IoT applications for gas pressure monitoring systems in biodigesters, providing insights for developers and researchers to enhance the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy technologies.

Abstract

Ubi kayu merupakan salah satu bahan pangan lokal pengganti beras yang cukup penting peranannya dalam menopang ketahanan pangan di suatu wilayah. Beberapa olahan ubi kayu yang dihasilkan diantaranya keripik ubi kayu, rengginang ubi kayu, dan opak-opak. Banyak rumah tangga di Desa Sigerongan yang mengusahakan olahan dari ubi kayu tersebut terutama dalam bentuk opak-opak atau oleh masyarakat Lombok disebut dengan jaje opak. Sebelum digoreng, jaje opak yang diproduksi pada industri rumahan di Desa Sigerongan dijemur dalam keadaan terbuka, sehingga jika dilihat dari segi kebersihan memiliki kekurangan. Penjemuran produk pangan dalam kondisi terbuka di lapangan dapat memengaruhi kualitas produk jaje opak. Produk pangan yang dijemur langsung di bawah sinar matahari memiliki kekurangan diantaranya produk tidak higienis dan kesulitan dalam prosses penanganan ketika turun hujan. Debu dan kotoran dari lingkungan sekitar yang terbawa oleh angin dapat menempel pada jaje opak yang dijemur, sehingga dapat memengaruhi kebersihan dan kualitas jaje opak. Berdasarkan beberapa kelemahan dan kekurangan sarana penjemuran jaje opak, diperlukan solusi terhadap permasalahan tersebut dengan cara pembuatan rumah pengering sinar matahari sistem semi tertutup yang dikenal dengan metode penjemuran efek rumah kaca (ERK). Pemilik usaha jaje opak merasa dengan adanya alat pengering ERK dapat menjaga jaje opak yang dijemur terhindar dari kotoran dan pengaruh angin yang dapat membuat jaje opak yang dijemur terjatuh. Dinding atas serta samping dari alat pengering yang terbuat dari kaca menjadikan panas matahari dapat masuk untuk mengeringkan produk yang ada di dalamnya sehingga produk jaje opak dapat diperolah dalam kondisi yang kering sebelum dilakukan proses akhir yaitu penggorengan. Pemilik dan pekerja pada usaha jaje opak merasa sangat terbantu dengan adanya pengeringan efek rumah kaca dari tim pengabdian karena selain sangat berguna dalam mengatasi kekurangan dari pengeringan metode konvensional, pemilik dan pekerja usaha jaje opak juga mendapatkan pemahaman terkait teknologi sederhana dalam pengeringan menggunakan efek rumah kaca.

Abstract

Karang Sidemen Village, located in North Batukliang District, Central Lombok Regency, has significant potential as a center for high-quality coffee production in Lombok. The village directly borders several forest areas, including Tahura Nuraksa, Community Forest (HKm), Hortipark, and the Rarung Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDK). This availability of resources has led 75% of the community to manage a highly regarded and popular commodity, namely Robusta coffee. Numerous Women’s Farmer Groups and MSMEs manage coffee as a flagship product. Additionally, the village has several attractive locations as tourist destinations. However, this potential has not been fully optimized due to a lack of knowledge and education among farmers and the local community. One factor affecting coffee quality is the equipment and machinery used in the production process. Farmers’ knowledge in operating equipment, maintenance, and proper safety techniques is still not optimal. This is evidenced by the many machines and equipment that are not used in production houses. To address this condition, initiatives are needed to conduct outreach and mentoring activities from academics and practitioners that are inclusive, embracing the entire community. Through outreach sessions, farmers and the local community will be given a deep understanding of the technical operation of coffee processing equipment and machinery. Maintenance techniques and usage according to standard procedures will also be covered. Practical training sessions will enable farmers to improve their skills, ensuring that each stage of equipment and machinery use is carried out correctly, systematically, and with an understanding of basic Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) concepts. By applying the best practices obtained through these outreach and training sessions, farmer groups in Karang Sidemen Village are expected to further improve the quality and quantity of production. This will not only provide direct benefits to farmers but also enhance the competitiveness of the village’s coffee products in both local and international markets. With the support and revitalization of existing equipment and machinery, the local community is expected to become agents of change to achieve higher quality standards, realizing the potential of Karang Sidemen Village’s local coffee.

Abstract

Karang Sidemen Village is located in Nort Batukliang Subdistrict, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This village has promising potential for coffee bean production, which can significantly improve the welfare of the local community if managed properly. This potential includes various coffee varieties that can thrive in the nutrient-rich volcanic soil, offering unique flavors that can compete in both national and international coffee markets. However, this potential has not been fully optimized due to a lack of knowledge and education among farmers and the local community. Best practices in post-harvest handling of coffee beans, such as proper picking, correct processing, and optimal storage, are still not fully understood and implemented. Many farmers still use traditional methods that are less efficient, which can lead to a decrease in coffee bean quality and, ultimately, lower selling prices. To address these challenges, initiatives are needed to organize inclusive socialization and training activities that engage the entire community. Through socialization sessions, farmers and the local community will gain a deep understanding of the importance of applying proper picking methods and accurate coffee bean processing practices. Practical training sessions will enable farmers to enhance their skills, ensuring that each post-harvest stage is carried out with high efficiency and avoiding unwanted quality loss. By implementing the best practices obtained through these socialization and training efforts, Karang Sidemen Village is expected to overcome existing barriers. Through these efforts, it is hoped that coffee harvests can be optimized and the quality of local coffee products significantly improved. This will not only provide direct benefits to farmers but also increase the competitiveness of coffee products from this village in both local and international markets. With comprehensive education, it is expected that the local community can become agents of change to achieve higher quality standards, realizing the extraordinary potential of Karang Sidemen Village’s coffee plantations. Furthermore, collaboration with research institutions and universities can open opportunities for innovation in coffee cultivation and processing techniques. Research focusing on superior coffee varieties, environmentally friendly processing techniques, and effective marketing strategies can add value to coffee products from Karang Sidemen Village. Thus, this village will not only be known as a producer of high-quality coffee but also as a center of innovation and education in the coffee industry.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan diversifikasi produk UKM Maju Bersama di Desa Kekait melalui penerapan teknologi pengering silinder. Fokus kegiatan adalah optimalisasi proses pengeringan gula semut dan coconut chips untuk menghasilkan produk berkualitas tinggi yang memenuhi standar SNI. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi dan koordinasi, pengujian alat pengering silinder, penyuluhan Cara Pengolahan Pangan yang Baik (CPPB), serta pelatihan penggunaan alat pengering. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa alat pengering silinder mampu menurunkan kadar air gula semut dan coconut chips secara signifikan dalam waktu yang lebih singkat dibanding metode tradisional. Selain itu, kegiatan ini meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, pendapatan UKM, serta keterampilan mitra dalam menggunakan teknologi tepat guna. Tantangan dalam penerapan teknologi ini mencakup biaya investasi awal dan kebutuhan pelatihan intensif.

Abstract

Packaging during the transportation process greatly influences the damage to horticultural products. Harvest apples are usually packed in wooden boxes or bamboo baskets and stacked until they reach maximum capacity. This makes the fruit easily damaged by bruising due to high piles. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to handle horticultural products in the form of apples to reduce damage to the fruit during transportation to maintain the quality of the apples until they reach consumers and extend the shelf life of the fruit. This research aims to design protective packaging for apples from a combination of water hyacinth and coconut fiber. The experimental method was carried out in this research with 2 factors consisting of 3 levels; factor one the combination of packaging materials, and factor two was the pressure of the packaging printer. Nine experimental units were obtained from the combination of the two treatments, namely K1T1 (E 90% + S 10%) with a pressing pressure of 400 psi, K1T1 (E 90% + S 10%) with a pressing pressure of 700 psi, K1T1 (E 90% + S 10% ) with a pressing pressure of 1000 psi, K2T1 (E 60% + S 40%) with a pressing pressure of 400 psi, K2T2 (E 60% + S 40%) with a pressing pressure of 700 psi, K2T3 (E 60% + S 40%) with pressing pressure 1000 psi, K3T1 (E 30% + S 70%) with pressing pressure 400 psi, K3T2 (E 30% + S 70%) with pressing pressure 700 psi, K3T3 (E 30% + S 70%) with pressing pressure 1000 psi. The results showed that the combination treatment of K2T2 with a pressing pressure of 700 psi provided the best protective quality for apples with the lowest percentage of mechanical damage and reduction in apple mass,  at 5.556%, 2.55%, respectively. The springiness and texture values for apples were the highest with values respectively 3.17 mm, 16.7335N. Meanwhile, the highest packaging compressive strength value was obtained in the K3T3 treatment with a value of 26.164N.

Abstract

The addition of natural fibers in concrete is of great interest in the field of construction materials. Compared to man-made fibers, natural fibers are cheaper and locally available. In addition, the use of natural fibers is certainly more eco-friendly than the use of synthetic fibers but can produce the same strength in its application as an additive. This study aims to determine the development trend of concrete technology with natural fiber admixtures, including the various types of natural fiber waste used, so that it can be a consideration and reference in the use of natural waste in the mix design of natural fiber concrete (Fiber Reinforced Concrete). This study uses bibliometric analysis and literature review methods using Publish or Perish/Harzing software and VOSviewer v.1.6.20. This study was conducted by bibliometric analysis method of concrete technology development that utilizes waste mixture as fiber in Google Scholar indexed publications from 2014 to 2023. Furthermore, the co-cite, coupler, and cluster analysis methods will be used to analyze the collaboration network, and VOSviewer v.1.6.20 is used to visualize this network with three visualization analyses; Network Visualization, Overlay Visualization, and Density Visualization. Of the total publications indexed by Google scholar, namely 989 documents, 958 documents have year information and 31 documents do not have information on the year of publication. The highest publication growth development with this topic occurred in 2021, which reached 284 publications (28.7%), while the lowest publication development was in 2024, totaling 10 documents (1%).
