Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media on purchasing decisions with product quality as a mediating variable, focusing on consumers of Clarissa Boutique in Mojokerto, Indonesia. The scope of the study centers on digital marketing practices through Instagram and TikTok as promotional tools rather than transaction platforms, emphasizing their role in shaping consumer perceptions and behavior. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected from 200 registered customers through a structured questionnaire. The sampling technique applied was non-probability sampling with a purposive method, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that TikTok has a strong and statistically significant effect on both product quality perception and purchasing decisions, while Instagram shows no significant influence on either variable. Furthermore, product quality does not significantly affect purchasing decisions and does not mediate the relationship between social media and purchasing decisions. These results indicate that visual and interactive content delivered through TikTok plays a more decisive role in influencing consumer purchasing behavior compared to Instagram. The study highlights the importance of selecting appropriate social media platforms in digital marketing strategies and provides practical insights for fashion retailers in optimizing social media-based promotion.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of rewards, punishments, and the work environment on employee performance at UD Anugrah, a company engaged in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector located in Brangkal, Sooko, Mojokerto. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through a closed questionnaire, which was distributed to 30 permanent employees who have worked for a minimum of five years. This criterion was chosen to ensure that respondents have sufficient work experience to understand the organizational culture and managerial policies implemented in the company. The data analysis technique used was Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software, which allows for a comprehensive analysis of latent relationships between variables even with a small sample size. The results show that rewards and punishments have a significant positive effect on employee performance, meaning that the more appropriate and consistent the rewards and punishments given, the higher the employee performance. The rewards in question can be financial or non-financial incentives such as recognition and promotion, while punishments are more corrective to work discipline violations. On the other hand, work environment variables were found to have no significant effect, although descriptively several respondents mentioned the importance of comfort and job security. These findings emphasize that HR management in the SME sector needs to pay special attention to reward systems and work discipline as key factors in increasing productivity. This research is expected to serve as a strategic reference for SMEs in designing more effective, efficient employee management policies oriented toward long-term performance improvement. Furthermore, it is crucial for management to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the systems in place and the penalties applied.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and work stress on employee performance in logistics companies in Mojokerto using a quantitative research approach. Data were collected from 85 employees through structured questionnaires measured on a five-point Likert scale, reflecting perceptions related to task demands, psychological pressure, and performance outcomes in daily logistics operations. The analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, including validity and reliability testing, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing to ensure the robustness of the statistical model. The findings reveal that workload has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, indicating that appropriate task allocation can encourage productivity and efficiency, whereas work stress shows a negative and significant influence, suggesting that excessive pressure may reduce focus, motivation, and overall work quality. Simultaneously, workload and work stress significantly influence employee performance, with a coefficient of determination demonstrating that 31.5% of performance variation can be explained by these independent variables, while the remaining variation is influenced by other organizational and individual factors. The results highlight the importance of balanced workload management, effective stress control strategies, and supportive organizational practices in maintaining sustainable performance levels in the logistics sector, which is characterized by tight schedules and dynamic operational challenges. This study provides practical implications for managers in designing human resource policies that align operational demands with employee well-being and offers empirical evidence that can support future research development in human resource and organizational performance studies.
