Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes using the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) Learning Model with a Realistic Mathematics Approach. The instruments used in this study were the ability test of students' mathematics learning outcomes, student response questionnaires to the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with the Realistic Mathematics Approach, and teacher and student observation guidelines. Data analysis was carried out in two techniques, namely quantitative and qualitative. The data from the observations and questionnaire responses of students were analyzed qualitatively, while the test of students' mathematics learning outcomes was analyzed quantitatively and strengthened by documentation. This study reveals that the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with the Realistic Mathematics approach (PMR) can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes. This condition can be seen in increased learning results, student activities, teacher activities, and student response questionnaires from cycle I to cycle II. The average value obtained in the first cycle is 61.62 from an ideal score of 100 with a completeness of 19.048%, and at the end of the second cycle, it increases to 79.14 from an ideal score of 100 with a completeness of learning outcomes of 85.714%. The standard deviation in the first cycle is 10,462 and the standard deviation in the final cycle or the second cycle is 9,361. Therefore, the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with the Realistic Mathematics Approach is one of the learning models that can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes because it is one of the models that attracts and motivates students to be more active in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in Class XII Computer Engineering Department of SMK Samudra Nusantara Makassar through the application of the Blended Learning learning model using the telegram application in mathematics lessons with Enumeration Rules Material. This type of research is action research conducted at Samudra Nusantara Vocational School, to be precise, class XII of the Department of Computer Engineering in the odd semester of 2022/2023, with a total of 14 people. Data collection was carried out using tests of students' mathematics learning outcomes and observations at each meeting. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The score in cycle I obtained the average value of student learning outcomes of 69.07 and the variance of 177.61 and the standard deviation of 113.33 with an ideal score of 100. In cycle II, learning outcomes were obtained students with an average score of 87 student learning outcomes and a variance of 44.33 and a standard deviation of 6.66 with an ideal score of 100.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa pada mata kuliah teori himpunan. Adapun subjek pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa STKIP Paris Barantai sebanyak 26 orang Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika semester I tahun Akademik 2023/2024. Data penelitian yang dikaji adalah lembar jawaban Ulangan Akhir Semester. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, diperoleh hasil secara umum menerangkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa dapat dikategorikan cukup dengan persentase 64,62%. Lebih rinci, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam merencanakan penyelesaian masalah dapat dikategorikan ‘baik’ dengan persentase 74,62%. Walaupun kemampuan dalam melakukan pengecekan kembali masih lemah dapat dikategorikan ‘kurang’ dengan persentase 54,62%. Dengan demikian, kedepannya menjadi dasar evaluasi dalam pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Mahasiswa, Teori Himpunan.

Abstract

The presence of technology in the community, especially for farmers, can increase access to information, such as information about better and up-to-date agricultural techniques and market information will greatly help farmers in improving the quality and quantity of production that will encourage village economic growth and farmer welfare. The method used in the implementation of PKM activities uses an interactive discussion method with the local farming community accompanied by practice, a kind of tutorial in utilizing various mobile phone features owned by the community. The result of this study is that people know about how to upload images of agricultural production and market them through their social media, including accessing several marketplace links that allow people to market their agricultural products.

Abstract

Kabupaten Maros yang terletak sekitar 30 km sebelah utara Kota Makassar memiliki luas wilayah 1.619,12 km² dengan 14 kecamatan dan 103 desa/kelurahan. Wilayah ini meliputi daratan dan pegunungan dengan komoditas pertanian unggulan seperti padi, jagung, kedelai, kacang tanah, singkong dan ubi jalar. Maros juga dikenal dengan sektor pertambangan dan pariwisatanya, termasuk Taman Nasional Bantimurung-Bulusaraung dan Rammang-Rammang, objek wisata karst terbesar kedua di dunia. Sebagai pintu gerbang ke wilayah Mamminasata bagian utara, Maros memiliki peran penting dalam pembangunan Makassar. Pemerintah Kabupaten Maros fokus pemberdayaan masyarakat desa melalui literasi digital, berkolaborasi dengan ADPERTISI dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM). Pada tanggal 13 Juli 2024, dilakukan sosialisasi pemanfaatan teknologi dengan perkuliahan, tutorial dan diskusi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh orang-orang yang antusias meskipun mengalami masalah jaringan internet.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the algebraic problem-solving abilities of student package B equivalence. Data collection was conducted on students of package B equivalency at the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) of Rahmatan Lil-Alamin Makassar, South Sulawesi. The method used in this research is quantitative. The results of the study showed that 45% of students who completed, while students who did not complete were 55%, meaning that there were more students who did not complete than completed. Students' classical completeness also gets a percentage of 40%, it means that students do not complete classically. The students have not been able to understand algebraic problem and students experience concept errors and problem solving procedures. Students must be trained to do algebraic questions more routinely and students are also given algebraic questions related to the context of students' daily life. The research is needed to be done further on other variables such as conceptual understanding, problem solving errors, as well as material to be tested such as geometry, arithmetic, and statistics.

Abstract

Many students experience difficulties in understanding and connecting mathematical concepts with real-life situations around them. This study aims to analyze the obstacles faced by students in constructing contextual mathematical problems based on their mathematical connections. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study identifies various challenges encountered by students, including limited conceptual understanding, difficulties in relating mathematical concepts to real-life situations, and an inability to transform concrete information into abstract mathematical models. The findings indicate that understanding mathematical connections is essential for enhancing students' abilities to solve context-based problems.

Abstract

The ideal values in character education that play the most role are the values of religious teachings, this is the basis of research on the integration of Alquran in trigonometry courses. This research aims to see the influence of the integration of the Qur'an on trigonometric courses on student learning outcomes. The type of this research is mix-method. This research begins by compiling a draft of 4 chapters that are integrated with Alquran, namely surah Al Anbiya ayat 30, Al-Hujurat verse 13, Adz-Dzariat verse 56, Al-Baqarah verse 142-145 and Surah Yunus verse 87 and the success phytagoras approach. Based on qualitative data analysis on extensive questionnaires, most students responded well to the application of the integration of Alquran to trigonometry. The reason for this is not only the knowledge of spherical trigonometry, Islam through Qur'an verses. This is indicated by the increase in grade performance at each meeting. While the quantitative data analysis of trigonometric learning outcomes data obtained an average pretest value of 45.83 while the posttest average value was 79.42. While for hypothesis testing (one sample t-test) obtained sig. 0,000 which means Ho is rejected. From the results of the analysis, it was concluded that the application of Qur’an integration had a significant effect on trigonometric learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to build an understanding of the importance of imagination in enhancing mathematical communication in early childhood. Through the storytelling method, this training activity aims to provide insights to the teachers at Ibn Khawarizm Kindergarten on how to utilize storytelling in mathematics education. Before the training, 20 participants were given a pre-test to assess their initial understanding of their pedagogical knowledge, while a post-test was administered after the training to evaluate the changes. The pre-test results showed that participants had a limited understanding of the application of storytelling in mathematics teaching, with an average score of 60%. After the training, there was a significant improvement in participants' abilities, with post-test scores reaching 85% for understanding basic mathematical concepts and 80% for the ability to integrate storytelling into teaching. Participants' confidence in teaching mathematics using creative methods also increased from 65% in the pre-test to 92% in the post-test. The impact of this training is expected to enhance teachers' mathematical communication skills, which will, in turn, influence the development of mathematical communication skills in children in the classroom.

Abstract

The training on creating Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions using artificial intelligence (AI) platforms such as Quizizz aims to enhance the skills of prospective educators in designing assessment questions that encourage critical and creative thinking. The urgency of this training is crucial in the context of current digital education, where technology and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) are essential to face the challenges of the 21st century. The benefits of this training include improving participants' abilities to design HOTS questions based on Bloom's taxonomy and utilizing technology to create more interactive and applicable questions. Data analysis was conducted both quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitatively, the analysis was done by comparing pre-test and post-test scores to measure the participants' improvement in understanding HOTS and using Quizizz. Additionally, data from practical observations and evaluation questionnaires were used to assess participants' participation, enthusiasm, and independence in designing questions. The analysis results showed that 80% of participants were able to design HOTS questions at cognitive levels C4 and C5, and 75% of participants successfully utilized Quizizz's features.
