Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of using the Quizizz application in mathematics education on students' understanding of Linear Equation Systems with Two Variables . The research method employed is an experimental design with pre-test and post-test, involving two groups of tenth-grade students at a junior high school: an experimental group using Quizizz and a control group utilizing conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through written tests and a motivation questionnaire. The results indicate that the experimental group experienced an increase in the average pre-test score from 60 to 85 on the post-test, while the control group only increased from 58 to 72. Statistical analysis using the t-test showed a t-value of 3.75 with a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Additionally, 85% of students in the experimental group reported that learning with Quizizz was more engaging, and 90% expressed a desire to use the application again in the future. These findings suggest that the use of Quizizz can enhance students' understanding and motivation in mathematics learning. The study concludes that application-based learning technology can contribute to improving educational quality and recommends that more teachers integrate technology into the learning process to achieve better outcomes.

Abstract

Smoking has become a serious health problem that occurs in various countries including Indonesia. Smoking causes a person to experience various health problems and also has an impact from exposure to cigarette smoke. Mathematical modeling is one of the techniques to present complex systems into mathematical models of problems that occur in the real world in the form of mathematical statements. This study aims to analyze the stability of the smoker distribution model based on the parameters  to obtain simulation results of the smoker distribution system model with education factors and smoking recurrence factors. The method used in this research is literature study. The model built is a modification of the model (Syari'ah & Prawoto 2022), which is formed in the compartment diagram used to construct the model. The model used in this study is the PLSQ model. From the model, the smoker-free equilibrium point and the non-smoker-free equilibrium point can be determined. Furthermore, linearization is carried out on the system of equations so that the Jacobian matrix is obtained which is used to find eigenvalues, by determining the basic reproduction number to analyze the type of stability of the equilibrium point. Then, numerical simulation is done using matlab 23b software with the Runga-Kutta method of Order 4. Based on the results of the discussion, the stability analysis states that the smoker-free equilibrium point will be stable when   and the non-smoker-free equilibrium point will be stable when . So that by adding transmission by heavy smokers and passive smokers, it takes longer to reach the equilibrium point.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the problem solving ability and mathematical disposition of grade X students of the Private Aviation Vocational School of Berayan Island Darat Medan. Using a quasi-experimental approach with two groups, namely the experimental group taught using the PBL model and the control group taught using conventional learning, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of PBL in improving students' problem solving skills and mathematical disposition. Data was collected through problem solving ability tests (pretest and posttest) and mathematical disposition questionnaires during the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The results of the two-track ANOVA analysis with a significance level of 0.05 showed that the PBL learning model had a significant influence on students' problem solving ability (F=13,669; sig.=0.000<0.05). In addition, the mathematical disposition of students was also significantly influenced by the PBL model (F=17.041; sig.=0.000<0.05). However, this study did not find any interaction between the PBL learning model and mathematical early ability (KAM) in influencing problem solving ability (F=2.114; sig.=0.131>0.05) or students' mathematical disposition (F=0.454; sig.=0.637>0.05). This indicates that the PBL model exerts influence independently without being influenced by the student's KAM. These findings suggest that PBL models can effectively improve students' problem solving abilities and mathematical dispositions, regardless of their initial ability level, as well as provide a more engaging and meaningful learning experience in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a dangerous disease that is easily transmitted through mosquito bites of the species Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Indonesia is an endemic disease and a serious health problem that causes many deaths. Based on the data obtained, the incidence of DHF is still high, especially in Medan City with its high population density and mobility. It is therefore necessary to have more intensive efforts to prevent DHF, one of which is by administering vaccines. Therefore, vaccination is used as an option that is commonly used to control the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). The purpose of this research is to get a mathematical model with the effect of the vaccine, to find out the analysis of the mathematical model with the effect of the vaccine, and to find out the analysis of the reproduction number () with the effect of the vaccine. TheSIR model was used to analyze the Basic Reproduction Number. According to this study, the basicreproduction number of DHF
