Abstract

New student registration is the initial stage process for new students to be able to carry out education in the school environment. An efficient and effective registration process is important for every school to ensure that every prospective student gets a fair and equal opportunity to get a quality education. SMP Negeri 8 Bengkulu also admits new students, but in this case SMP 8 Bengkulu registration is still done manually which results in frequent data errors. Another problem that is often faced is the complexity of the registration process which takes time so that the registration process is slow because this registration process involves collecting personal information, documents, filling out forms, selecting classes, and meeting various other requirements. This process not only requires the involvement of prospective students and parents, but also involves school officials in managing and verifying data. The solution to this problem is to create an online registration system for new students at SMPN 8 Bengkulu. The registration system can be completed by using the Multilevel Queue method which is one of the methods in overcoming the queue problem. This method can group small queues where each queue will run with the FCFS (First Come First Serve) method. In the context of the new student registration system, the Multilevel Queue method can be used to set priorities and schedule the processing of registration data, thus ensuring the smooth process of registering new students efficiently and accurately. This system can also help the process of registering new students at SMPN 8 Bengkulu City.

Abstract

PKM di SDN 43 Kota Bengkulu merupakan bagian dari kurikulum pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman praktis kepada mahasiswa tentang lingkungan kerja di sekolah dasar. Selama PKM, mahasiswa terlibat dalam berbagai aktivitas seperti mengamati kelas, membantu guru dalam persiapan pembelajaran, serta mengajar sesi pembelajaran kepada siswa. Melalui PKM ini, mahasiswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar, meningkatkan keterampilan interpersonal, dan memahami kebutuhan siswa secara individual. PKM ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi perkembangan pendidikan di SDN 43 Kota Bengkulu serta pengalaman berharga bagi mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di masa depan.

Abstract

Motion detection is a key element in modern surveillance systems to ensure optimal security. However, the accuracy of motion detection is often a challenge under various environmental conditions. This research investigates the use of the Viola-Jones method and labeling algorithm as a solution to improve object detection accuracy by sampling 15 videos that record various environmental conditions, including indoors, outdoors, and at night. The Viola-Jones method is implemented for face detection as a first step in human object identification, while the labeling algorithm is used to refine and validate the detection results in more detail. Experimental results show that combining the two methods succeeded in increasing object detection accuracy. Of the 15 videos analyzed, only 4 videos experienced inaccurate detection results, while the other 11 videos managed to get accurate results. Evaluation of system performance using Precision, Recall, and Accuracy metrics produces a Precision rate of 73.33%, a Recall rate of 100%, and an Accuracy rate of 73.33%. Apart from that, manual calculations were also carried out which resulted in an accuracy rate of 91.77%.

Abstract

Permasalahan tata letak geografis dengan koneksi kabel antar gedung yang saling terisolasi dikarenakan kondisi perkantoran yang terletak diperbukitan dimana antar gedung satu terpisah dengan yang lain sehinggah tidak memungkin dilakukan penyambungan menggunakan. Metode distribusi akses  point-to-point ini juga biasa digunakan menghubungkan dua kantor yang berjauhan dengan jaringan ini diharapkan seluruh pengguna dapat mengakses internet secara bersama di ruang kerja masing-masing dengan dengan wireless (nirkabel).  Tujuan penelitian adalah mencoba penerapan board router akses point-to-point untuk komunikasi data secara point-to-point untuk mengatasi masalah tata letak geografis kondisi perkantoran di daerah perbukitan dimana gedung-gedung tidak dapat terkoneksi dengan kabel antar gedung terpisah satu sama lain kabel UTP maupun kabel fiber optic menggunakan mikrotik router board type RB 411AH dengan wireless. Hasil tersebut berdasarkan hasil pengujian access point dua access point dengan jarak yang sama, dimana jarak antara access point (30 meter) dengan client (laptop) adalah 15 meter, 20 meter dan 30 meter pada channel 4 dan 5 .Ada perbedaan ketika kekuatan sinyal yang diterima adalah 60%, tetapi ketika kebisingan mencapai 20%, situasinya buruk, koneksi harus mencapai 80% jika memungkinkan, dan jaringan point-to-point harus memperhatikan lokasi geografis, karena sinyal yang melalui gelombang sangat peka terhadap halangan/pohon atau bukit (LOS = line of sight).

Abstract

Rafflesia arnoldii merupakan bunga terbesar di dunia yang menjadi daya tarik wisata di Bengkulu. Namun, keterbatasan informasi mengenai bunga ini menghambat pemahaman wisatawan terhadap pentingnya konservasi. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas informasi tentang Rafflesia arnoldii dengan memanfaatkan teknologi QR Code. Kegiatan ini melibatkan Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Bengkulu serta tenaga honorer dan mahasiswa magang sebagai responden. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengembangan konten digital, implementasi QR Code, serta evaluasi efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman wisatawan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan QR Code mampu meningkatkan akses informasi secara cepat dan interaktif. Responden menyatakan bahwa teknologi ini memudahkan mereka dalam memahami sejarah, karakteristik, serta upaya konservasi Rafflesia arnoldii. Kendala yang ditemukan meliputi keterbatasan akses internet dan rendahnya literasi digital beberapa pengguna. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sosialisasi lebih lanjut serta penguatan infrastruktur untuk meningkatkan efektivitas sistem. Pemanfaatan QR Code ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model dalam edukasi wisata berbasis teknologi serta mendukung konservasi flora langka di Bengkulu. Rafflesia arnoldii is the world’s largest flower and a major tourist attraction in Bengkulu. However, limited information about this species hinders tourists’ understanding of its conservation importance. This community service program aims to enhance accessibility to information on Rafflesia arnoldii using QR Code technology. The activity involved the Bengkulu Provincial Tourism Office, honorary staff, and internship students as respondents. The methodology includes digital content development, QR Code implementation, and evaluation of its effectiveness in improving tourist knowledge. The results indicate that the QR Code application significantly enhances fast and interactive information access. Respondents acknowledged that this technology facilitates their understanding of Rafflesia arnoldii’s history, characteristics, and conservation efforts. Challenges encountered include limited internet access and low digital literacy among some users. Therefore, further outreach and infrastructure improvement are necessary to optimize the system’s effectiveness. The use of QR Codes is expected to serve as a model for technology-based tourism education and support rare flora conservation in Bengkulu.

Abstract

General election is a procedure and mechanism for delegating people's sovereignty to state administrators (legislative, executive and judiciary). Before the reform era, elections were carried out by the General Elections Institute (LPU) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, but since the reform era, elections have been held by an independent institution, namely the General Elections Commission which was formed based on amendments to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia article 22E paragraph (5) that general elections are held by an election commission which is national, permanent and independent in nature. The method used is a qualitative method which explains the preparation and filing of letters. Field work practice (PKL) at the Bengkulu provincial KPU office. The street vendors were carried out for 40 days, a lot of experience, knowledge and other things were obtained in the implementation of the street vendors. During the Field Work Practice (PKL) activities, I was able to find out firsthand how the activities were in practice at the Bengkulu provincial KPU office.

Abstract

In today's digital era, digital images play an important role in various fields, including image processing, surveillance systems, and medical image processing. However, one of the main challenges is that low-resolution images often experience quality degradation, so the loss of important details caused by noise and blurring makes the information in the image unclear. To overcome this problem, various image processing methods have been developed, including the Otsu Thresholding and Canny Edge Detection methods. This study will compare two methods for improving the quality of low-resolution images, namely Otsu Thresholding and Canny Edge Detection. This experiment was conducted to determine how effective the two methods are by testing several low-resolution image samples and then evaluating the results based on the PSNR, MSE, and SSIM metric values. The experimental results obtained show that the Otsu Thresholding method outperforms Canny Edge Detection in terms of improving image quality, as evidenced by better PSNR, lower MSE, and SSIM closer to 1. Thus, Otsu Thresholding is recommended as a more effective and optimal method in low-resolution image processing. Therefore, it is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for developing more effective and optimal low-resolution image processing methods in the future.

Abstract

Indonesia memilki kekayaan tanaman herbal yang melimpah, dengan ribuan jenis tanaman berkhasiat. Namun, pemanfaatannya belum maksimal karena keterbatasan informasi dan kesesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi jenis dan manfaat daun herbal secara manual. Untuk meningkatakan pemahaman serta mengoptimalan penggunaan obat herbal, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem yang dapat mengklasifikasikan gambar daun tanaman herbal berdasarkan khasiatnya untuk pengobatan menggunakan jaringan saraf tiruan backpropagation. Pada tahap awal penelitian ini, dilakukan pengumpulan dataset tanaman herbal dengan berbagai jenis. Dataset yang digunakan terdiri dari 100 citra dengan 10 jenis daun tanaman herbal yang dibagi mejadi dua data yaitu data pelatihan dan data pengujian, dengan pembagian 60% data digunakan untuk pelatihan, sementara 40% untuk pengujian. Saat proses klasifikasi melibatkan transformasii warna ke hsv, segmentasi citra serta ekstraksi ciri yang mengunakan parameter metriic dan eccentricity. Sistem di terapkan melalui aplikasi matlap dengan antarmuka pengguna grafis (GUI), sehingga mempermuda pengujian. Berdasarkan hasil model yang dikembangkan dan hasil evaluasi menunjukan bahwa metode dapat mengklafikasikan daun herbal dengan Tingkat akurasi total yang diperoleh mencapai 75,00%.

Abstract

Purpose: In this research on face detection, many methods face challenges in the accuracy of age prediction due to the complexity of facial features that are influenced by factors such as lighting, expression, and image quality. Therefore, this research focuses on developing more accurate and efficient methods by utilizing Deep Neural Network (DNN) and YuNet. The purpose of this study is to develop a face recognition model in detecting and determining human age automatically using Python with the DNN method to study facial patterns in determining human age precisely and integrate the YuNet library as a lightweight face detection framework that is efficient in the identification process.Design/methodology/approach: In this study, a system was created for predicting human age using the Deep Neural Network method which functions to predict age based on facial patterns in images and the Yunet method as a facial image detector. The stages of this research start from taking pictures, installing python libraries, namely opencv, face detection process, and age detection process.Findings/result: The results of the study show that the DNN and YuNet methods have tested as many as 50 samples in the form of photos of human faces taken at a distance of half a meter, so by using the DNN and YuNet methods, researchers have succeeded in obtaining the age of the human face through the image processing process which can then obtain an accuracy level or Precission of 80% and the accuracy level of success between the prediction value and the actual value given by the system is 80%.Originality/value/state of the art: In this study, the system uses Python tools where in the face detection process using the YuNet method, this method is used because YuNet can directly detect facial features in the image and is lightweight in operation. In terms of DNN prediction, it functions as a method that can predict age based on the results of facial image detection. In this study, a dataset was also used for 50 facial samples that were tested for accuracy using the confussion matrix by looking for precission, recal, and accuracy values.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has extended to various sectors, including education. The manual attendance system at SD Negeri 65 Kota Bengkulu has several drawbacks, such as data loss risks, inefficiency in recap processing, and limited attendance reporting. Therefore, digitalizing the attendance system is essential to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in recording teachers' and staff attendance. This study aims to develop an Android-based attendance application using AppSheet as a solution for schools to improve work discipline and streamline administrative processes. The application development is conducted as part of the Internship Program (PKL) for undergraduate students of the Computer Science Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. The resulting application enables digital attendance recording, integration with reporting systems, and real-time access to attendance data. This system is expected to optimize attendance management and enhance the performance of educators. Furthermore, this research can serve as a reference for other schools considering adopting similar technology.
