Abstract

Crews ships comuunication skills are speaking, writing and using objects, lights and sounds to make contact. It is both for sending or receiving messages between individuals on the ship, communication with other ships and with related parties. The ability of the crew to use and understand codes are expected to achieve the safety of a voyage. This research was conducted to 98 respondents. They are the crews of ships that wer berthing at Tanjung Perak Port of Surabaya. It is expected to know how the implication of the crews’ ability to communicate and to use international codes. It is meant to ensure the safety of the voyages. This research was using quantitative methods with linear regression analysis, t test, f test and test of determination. Therefore, it resulted that there ware a positive and significant influence both partially and jointly between the ability to communicate and the use of international codes on the safety of a voyage. The ability to communicate with the crew especially the ability in communication using English and understanding in the use of international codes is implicated in the safety of a voyage.Keywords : Communication skills, Codes, Safety of a voyageKemampuan komunikasi awak kapal baik secara lesan, tulisan,menggunakan sosok benda,cahaya dan bunyi untuk berinteraksi baik mengirim atau menerima pesan baik antar individu di kapal,komunikasi dengan kapal lain maupun dengan pihak – pihak terkait dan kemampuan awak kapal dalam menggunakan dan memahami penggunaan kode isyarat diharapkan dapat mencapai keselamatan pelayaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan responden dengan sejumlah 98 ( Sembilan puluh delapan ) awak kapal yang kapalnya sedang berada di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak Surabaya untuk mengetahui implikasi kemampuan berkomunikasi awak kapal dan penggunaan kode isyarat internasional supaya tercapai peningkatan keselamatan pelayaran.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif yaitu dengan analisis regresi linier , uji t,uji f dan uji determinasi.Dari penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan baik secara partial maupun bersama -sama antara kemampuan berkomunikasi dan penggunaan kode isyarat internasional terhadap keselamatan pelayaran .Kemampuan berkomunikasi awak kapal terutama kemampuan dalam komunikasi berbahasa inggris dan pemahaman dalam penggunaan kode isyrat internasional berimplikasi terhadap keselamatan pelayaranKata kunci : Kemampuan berkomunikasi, Kode isyarat, Keselamatan pelayaran

Abstract

The watchkeeping duties schedule on board of a ship is not only watchkeeping while on voyage but also when at ports. The master must arrange the schedule as effective as possible to ensure the safety of life, ship, port, environmental also when cargo handling operation. This research used quantitative method and the respondents were 81 ship crews who berth at Surabaya Port. Based on the result of the Multiple Regression Liniers also proved with T test & F test, the result of the T test was that there were positive and significant influence between watchkeeping duties scheduling at port, also there were positive and significant influence between the ship crews workload to the ship crews performance when watchkeeping duties at port. The F test proved that there were influence between watchkeeping duties variable and ship crews’ workload variable to the ship crews’ performance when performing watchkeeping duties at port. The result of multiple R were 0,531 coefficient multiple correlation. It showed that there were strong correlations between The important of watchkeeping duties scheduling at ports and crews workload to the crews performance on watchkeeping duties at Surabaya Port. Based on the result of this research, it suggested that the ship managerial level and more over to the shipping companies should pay more attention on national and international regulation when making watchkeeping duties schedule at port and the ship crews’ workload. And even if it was as regulated, the companies should oversee to the implementation, so it increased the crews’ performance.Keywords : Watchkeeping Duties at Port, Workload, Performance Pengaturan dinas jaga di kapal tidak hanya dinas jaga laut tetapi juga dinas jaga pelabuhan .Nakhoda harus mengatur tugas jaga secara memadai dan efektif supaya terjamin keselamatan jiwa, kapal  pelabuhan dan lingkungan , serta pengoperasian peralatan untuk menangani muatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif  dilakukan di pelabuhan Surabaya terhadap  awak kapal yang kapalnya yang sedang sandar di pelabuhan Surabaya dengan sampel 81 awak kapal sebagai responden .Berdasarkan  hasil nilai regresi linier berganda dan juga dibuktikan denga  uji t dan F , dari hasil uji t yaitu bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara variabel pengaturan dinas jaga di pelabuhan dengan kinerja awak kapal saat dinas jaga di pelabuhan,bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara beban kerja awak kapal dengan kinerja awak kapal saat dinas jaga di pelabuhan.Dan dari hasil uji F terbukti benar bahwa secara bersama- sama variabel pengaturan dinas jaga dan variabel beban kerja awak kapal terhadap kinerja awak kapal saat dinas jaga di pelabuhan. Hasil pengolahan data diperoleh nilai R berganda sebesar 0,531 Koefisien korelasi berganda tersebut menunjukkan bahwa antara variable Pentingnya pengaturan dinas jaga pelabuhan dan beban kerja awak kapal memiliki hubungan yang  kuat terhadap variabel Kinerja awak kapal saat dinas jaga di pelabuhan.Dikemukakan saran dari penelitian ini adalah manajemen kapal utama perusahaan pada penelitian ini dan perusahaan pelayaran lainnya secara umum  harus memperhatikan pengaturan dinas jaga di pelabuhan dan beban kerja awak kapal sesuai regulasi nasional dan internasional,walaupun sudah sesuai pengaturannya supaya dilakukan pengawasan dari pihak perusahaan tentang pelaksanaanya supaya kinerja awak kapal semakin baik.Kata kunci : Dinas jaga pelabuhan, Beban kerja, Kinerja

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 berdampak pada semua bidang, termasuk di bidang pendidikan. Hal ini juga dialami oleh taruna pelayaran di Fakultas Vokasi Pelayaran Universitas Hang Tuah Surabaya terkhusus bagi taruna prodi Teknologi Rekayasa Operasi Kapal. Para taruna yang sebelum pandemi dapat melakukan praktek pada ruang bridge simulator dimana mereka dapat berpraktik untuk prosedur menjalankan kapal dan melakukan komunikasi yang efisien ketika berlayar mengalami keterbatasan karena pada saat pandemi adanya larangan untuk berkumpul demi alasan kesehatan. Dari fenomena ini yang menjadi dasar untuk melalukan penelitian terkait kebutuhan menggunakan bridge simulator untuk menyiapkan taruna yang memiliki kompetensi untuk menjamin keselamatan pelayaran. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan analisa yang menggambarkan hubungan antara variabel dalam penelitian dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penggunaan bridge simulator dan komunikasi terhadap keselamatan pelayaran pada era new normal.

Abstract

Keselamatan pelayaran di Indonesia masih merupakan masalah yang perlu diperhatikan. Berdasarkan penelitian, bahwa masalah keselamatan pelayaran di Indonesia masih tinggi. Hal yang paling memperhatinkan adalah di Indonesia banyak orang yang bekerja dengan profesi sebagai nelayan. Kegiatan ini ditujukan sebagai program pelatihan Teknik keselamatan pelayaran khususnya didaerah pesisir laut dengan target peserta adalah orang yang berprofesi sebagai nelayandi Desa Kamal, Madura. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah berupa kegiatan pelatihan teknik keselamatan pelayaran yang memberikan hasil yang positif bagi para nelayan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pada saat bekerja dan juga untuk mengubah kebiasaan nelayan dalam menjaga keselamatan saat bekerja.

Abstract

Pemisahan sampah padat di kapal dalam upaya untuk mencegah pencemaran laut dalam implementasi Annex V Marine Pollution (MARPOL) 1973/1978 dapat menimbulkan risiko terhadap keselamatan dan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan model pemisahan sampah padat di kapal dengan berdasarkan budaya keselamatan kesehatan dan lingkungan kerja. Data diperoleh dengan menyebarkan kuisioner terhadap anak buah kapal niaga Indonesia dengan sampel 150 orang. Dengan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) SmartPLS, mendapatkan model pemisahan sampah padat di kapal yang kuat dengan R Square 0.851yang menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan budaya keselamatan kesehatan kerja sebesar 0.669 satuan dan pengaruh lingkungan kerja sebesar 0.298 satuan terhadap pemisahan sampah padat di kapal. Novelty penelitian ini adalah didapatkan model pemisahan sampah padat di kapal berdasar budaya keselamatan kesehatan kerja dan lingkungan kerja dengan jalur terkuat yang mempengaruhi pemisahan sampah padat di kapal adalah variabel budaya keselamatan kesehatan kerja di kapal serta dengan indikator-indikator pemisahan sampah padat di kapal sesuai rekomendasi MEPC dalam implementasi Annex V Marine Pollution 1973/1978 mengenai pencegahan pencemaran dari sampah kapal.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the operation of the Cargo Hold Bilges System in preventing flooding on MVs. Meratus Malino. Researchers conducted this research while conducting a Sea Practitioner (PRALA) for 12 months starting from January 29 2023 to February 5 2024 on board the MV. Meratus Malino is a container carrier type ship managed by the shipping company PT. The Meratus Line operates domestic shipping services on the route Jakarta-Surabaya-Makassar-Bitung-Anggrek (North Gorontalo)-Surabaya-Jakarta-Bawean-Jakarta-Semarang. The population in this study was the MV crew. Merastus Malino consisted of 20 people, while the sample was the crew of the MV ship. Meratus Malino who is in charge or has responsibility for operating the Cargo Hold Bilges System totals 16 people consisting of the MV deck crew. Meratus Malino totaling 9 people and MV engine crew. Meratus Malino numbered 7 people. This research method uses a qualitative method using a descriptive approach, while for the data source the researcher uses secondary data sources, while the data collection instruments are questionnaires, field studies and interviews. The results of this research show that in operating the Cargo hold Bilges system, a system and several components such as the bilge pump, ejector, seachast valve, injection valve connected to the bilge pump and hydraulic valve are needed which can function properly and more optimally in ship operational activities. . And to prevent flooding in the hold, it is necessary to check the hold regularly and if you see standing water in the hold, immediately make an order to empty the hatch so that the hatch is dry and the cargo remains protected from flooding in the hold.

Abstract

Research with the title “Optimalization of Container Tightening Processes to Increase Work Safety and Their Souls: Case Analysis at KM. Hijau Sejuk”. Optimization of bonding is vital because it is the most important part of the safety of mutant goods and ships. This study aims to find out what are the obstacles faced when optimizing container lashing and how to optimize safe container lashing to improve work safety and cargo on KM. Hijau Sejuk. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by using 3 data collection techniques including data from the prala place, namely the KM. Hijau Sejuk. The theoretical basis used is the theory that includes lashing tools and how to use them correctly according to the applicable SOP. The conclusion that the binding of containers on KM. Hijau Sejuk is less efficient such as, there is damage to the lashing tool, so that it can cause the lack of safety that occurs in the cargo.

Abstract

The P2TL rule is an abbreviation for the Collision Prevention Regulation at Sea, a rule that makes it easier for ships to sail safely and avoid the danger of collisions between 2 or more ships. The aim of this research is to explain the application of P2TL rules when ships are sailing to reduce the risk of collisions between ships and create safety in navigation on MV ships. Meratus Palembang. This research was carried out using quantitative descriptive statistical research methods. With data collection techniques based on the results of questionnaires, observations, literature studies related to P2TL regulations during maritime guard duty. Then the data was analyzed using SPSS calculations and described. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the P2TL rules were applied during maritime guard duty on the MV. Meratus Palembang has complied with established procedures. This is to ensure safety at sea by preventing accidents that could result in loss of life, damage to ships, and potential environmental pollution at sea.

Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines Surabaya (PT. SPIL), which is one of the national private shipping companies that play a role in the advancement of sea transportation in Indonesia. Crew ship is very important role in the progress of sea transport, especially the seafarers both inside and outside the country is necessary even to the lack of sailors, therefore the management of shipping companies should really pay attention to the welfare of the crew so the ship crew satisfied and comfortable working at PT. SPIL. This study aims to determine the influence seaworthiness and compensation system on job satisfaction crew on the ship owned by PT. Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines Surabaya. This research is quantitative. This research begins with sample determination then spread quisioner to 327 respondents in can statistic calculation with t test of variable of ship seaworthiness (X1), compensation system variable (X2) independently affect to (Y) job satisfaction. Variable X1 has significant effect, it is seen in the result of questionnaire about maritime shipiness need to be improved that is on the ship safety equipment of ship's crew. Safety tools must be in a ready-made state, which will be used at any time in case of emergency (fire on board, sinking ship, etc.). For variable X2 about the compensation system has an effect on the job satisfaction of the crew. With a decent wage and able to meet basic family needs it will be a major factor of job satisfaction. And based on the F test it is known that the velocity variable of the ship and the compensation system together affect the job satisfaction, F value counted 213,775 > F table 2,649. Based on the regression equation, it can be seen that the constant of 2,101 although without any change from X variable (ship capability and compensation system) will still increase by 2,101 but it is expected that ship velocity variable will be increased by 0,590 and compensation system is 0,274. PT. SPIL should maintain and even increase the velocity of the vessel and the compensation system for increased job satisfaction. Of the two variables, the variable that has the strongest influence on job satisfaction is the maritime boundary of the vessel, so it can be advisable to emphasize on the maritime boundary of the vessel. Capacity ship here in the sense of improving the safety system of the voyage. Due to the good sail safety system, the sailor's work satisfaction is increasing, guaranteed life safety on board during the voyage.

Abstract

: This research is motivated by pollution at sea caused by garbage from ships, discussing two main topics, namely: Garbage management in KM. Sabuk Nusantara 115 and efforts to prevent ship garbage pollution in KM. Sabuk Nusantara 115. This study aims to help readers to find out about garbage management in accordance with Marpol 73/78 and how to prevent garbage pollution on ships. Presentation of the data used is the report of the Garbage Management Plan, Garbage Record Book and the results of observations of garbage disposal conducted by ABK. Garbage management on ships must be in accordance with Marpol 73/78 so that sea pollution does not occur which can harm many parties directly or indirectly. And all crew members must understand and make various efforts to prevent marine pollution from garbage from ships.
