Abstract

Seagrass beds is one of the most prolific shallow water ecosystems, having ecological function in the life of the various marine organisms and other coastal systems. Data and information of seagrass condition in the waters of Ternate, Tidore and surrounding areas are still hardly unexplored. This study aimed to describe the spatial distribution information of seagrass cover percentage, seagrass conditions and environmental characteristics. The basic data used for mapping of seagrass is Landsat 8 on a path 110 row 59 recordings in July 2015. Analysis of overlaying and the interpretation of the seagrass distribution software using "ERMapper, Image Analysis 1.1 on ArcGIS ArcView 3.2 and 10.1". Field test was conducted on frame 50 x 50 cm squares, each square of the recorded species of seagrasses and cover percentage value. Condition assessment based on seagrass cover by (Rahmawati et al., 2014) and (KMLH, 2004). The results show that there are eight species of seagrass found in the waters of the island of Ternate, Tidore and Hiri Maitara island. The highest percentage in the seagrass cover was found in Maitara islands and Hiri Island, i.e ≥ 50%. Seagrass cover conditions in general are relatively "moderate", but the health conditions are less healthy / less wealthy (30 to 59.9%). Keywords: Seagrass beds, seagrass conditions, mapping, satelite image ABSTRAK Padang lamun merupakan salah satu ekosistem perairan dangkal yang paling produktif, mempunyai  fungsi ekologis dalam kehidupan berbagai organisme laut dan sistem pesisir lainnya.  Informasi  data  padang  lamun  di  perairan Ternate, Tidore dan sekitarnya masih belum tereksplorasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan  mendeskripsikan  informasi  secara  spasial  sebaran  lamun,  persentase  tutupan, kondisi lamun dan karakteristik lingkungannya. Data dasar yang digunakan untuk pemetaan padang lamun adalah citra Landsat 8 pada path 110 row 59 rekaman Juli  2015. Analisis tumpang susun dan interpretasi sebaran lamun dengan menngunakan perangkat lunak “Ermapper, Image Analysis 1.1 pada ArcView 3.2 dan “ArcGIS 10.1”. Uji lapangan dilakukan pada frame kuadrat 50 x 50 cm, disetiap kuadrat dicatat jenis lamun dan nilai persentase tutupan.  Penilaian kondisi lamun berdasarkan tutupan menurut (Rahmawati dkk., 2014) dan (KMLH, 2004). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa  terdapat 8 jenis lamun yang ditemukan di perairan pulau Ternate, pulau Tidore, pulau Hiri dan pulau Maitara. Presentase tutupan lamun tertinggi terdapat di pulau Maitara dan pulau Hiri yaitu ≥ 50 %. Kondisi lamun pada umumnya memiliki tutupan tergolong “sedang”, namun kondisinya kurang sehat/kurang kaya (30-59,9%). Abstract

The present paper describes the soft-bottom macrozoobenthic community structure inhabiting Lembeh Island’s waters (North Sulawesi). Material for the study was collected from 5 stations in October 2013 using a La Motte grab (600 cm2) and subsequently sieved through a 1 mm square mesh sieve. A total of 1147 individuals belonging to 78 species (taxa) of macrozoobenthos  and representative of higher taxonomic groups belonging to 12 phyla were recorded and identified. Univariate analysis showed low abundance of individuals and number of species in the Pintu Kota station which has a black sludge of sediment but Shannon index values at this station is the highest. Instead Motto station relatively far from anthropogenic disturbance showed a high abundance of individuals and number of species but Shannon  index values at this station is the lowest. The station is dominated by Tanais sp at a density of 9533 individuals m-2. Shannon index is less sensitive to measure the effect of anthropogenic disturbances compared with the abundance of individuals and number of species. The multivariate analysis (Cluster Analysis and Correspondence Analysis) managed to separate the three groups (essemblage) makrozoobethos: Group A (Posokan), Group B (Motto) and Group C (Pancoran, Mawali and Pintu Kota). Abiotic factors such as granulometri, physicochemical, hydrodynamics and anthropogenic factors believed to be the factors controlling the formation of the ecological group.Keywords: macrozoobenthos, anthropogenic impact, multivariate analysis, Lembeh Island.   ABSTRAKTulisan ini menggambarkan struktur komunitas makrozoobentos substrat lunak yang menghuni perairan Pulau Lembeh (Sulawesi Utara). Materi untuk studi ini dikumpulkan dari 5 stasiun pada Oktober 2013 dengan menggunakan grab La Motte (600 cm2) dan kemudian disaring dengan saringan berukuran 1 mm persegi mata saringan. Sebanyak 1147 individu yang termasuk dalam 78 spesies (taksa) makrozoobentos dan mewakili 12 fila atau grup taksonomi telah dicatat dan diidentifikasi. Analisis univariat menunjukkan rendahnya kelimpahan individu dan jumlah spesies di stasiun Pintu Kota yang memiliki sedimen lumpur berwarna hitam tetapi nilai indeks Shannon di stasiun ini adalah yang tertinggi. Sebaliknya di stasiun Motto yang relatif jauh dari gangguan antropogenik menunjukkan tingginya kelimpahan individu dan jumlah spesies tetapi nilai indeks Shannonnya adalah yang terendah. Stasiun ini didominasi oleh Tanais sp dengan kepadatan 9533 individual m-2. Indeks Shannon kurang peka mengukur pengaruh gangguan antropogenik dibandingkan dengan nilai kelimpahan individual dan jumlah spesies. Analisis multivariat (Analysis Kluster dan Analisis Korespondensi) berhasil memisahkan 3 grup (essemblage) makrozoobetos: Grup A (Posokan), Grup B (Motto) dan Grup C (Pancoran, Mawali dan Pintu Kota). Faktor abiotik seperti granulometri, hidrodinamika dan fisika-kimia perairan serta faktor antropogenik diduga merupakan faktor-faktor pengendali pembentukan grup ekologis tersebut.Kata kunci: makrozoobentos, dampak antropogenik, analisis multivariat, Pulau Lembeh.

ANALISIS KINERJA STAKEHOLDER  PROGRAM NASIONAL PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT (PNPM)-MANDIRI KELAUTAN PERIKANAN DI KOTA TERNATE   Nahrawai Djalal1, Ridwan Lasabuda2   ABSTRACT   To see the success of the PNPM-Mandiri KP in 2009 on the district of Island Hiri, the city of Ternate then performed an analysis of the policy program that analyzes the performance of stakeholders. This study aims to knowing and evaluating the performance of each stakeholder PNPM program - Mandiri KP in Ternate City, namely : head of fisheries, executive consultant, team empower-ment, labor and community groups receiving companion program. The research method using survey methods with qualitative descriptive data analysis. Results showed that the performance of the program performance of each head of fisheries 90%; consultant implementing 97%; team empowerment 91%, labour 92% and the companion community groups 93%..     Keywords : analysis of performance, PNPM-Mandiri program   ABSTRAK Untuk melihat keberhasilan program PNPM-Mandiri KP Tahun 2009 di Kecamatan Pulau Hiri, Kota Ternate maka dilakukan analisis terhadap kebijakan program tersebut yaitu analisis kinerja stakeholder. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi kinerja masing-masing stakeholder program PNPM–Mandiri KP Kota Ternate, yaitu : Kepala Dinas Perikanan, Konsultan pelaksana, Tim pemberdayaan, Tenaga pendamping dan Kelompok masyarakat penerima program. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei dengan  analisis data deskriptif kualitatif. Abstract

This study was aimed at knowing the aquati environmental condition, the fresh weight and ry weight of root, rhizome, and leaf of  Thalassia hemprichii, and the ratio of seagrass biomass of Thalassia hemprichii with sampling sites.It was done in Waleo waters, Kema district, Minahasa Utara regency. Data collection used 50×50 cm quadrat, and each T. hemprichii in the quadrat was removed.  Water temperature and salinity were measured. Each study site was photographed.This study was done at the lowest tide in 3 locations, near mangrove forest, in the seagrass bed, and coral reefs. Seagrass samples were put in separated plastic bags with location, placed in the cool box, ans brought to the laboratory for further analysis. The samples were cleansed and put in the alcohol-containing plastic bag. Then, the samples were dried and weighed. Results showed that the highest biomass occurred in root, then leaf, and rhizome for all study sites. Keywords: seagrass, biomass, Thalassia hemprichii. ABSTRAKTujuan Penelitian adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kondisi lingkungan perairan di lokasi penelitian, untuk mengetahui berapa besar berat basah dan berat kering dari bagian-bagian (akar, rhizoma, dan daun) dari lamun Thalassia hemprichii, untuk mengetahui perbandingan biomassa dari lamun Thalassia hemprichii berdasarkan masing-masing stasiun pengambilan sampel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perairan Waleo Kecamatan Kema Minahasa Utara. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuadaran 50×50 cm, dan  setiap lamun Thalassia hemprichii di  dalam kuadran dicabut. Suhu dan salnitas air juga diukur. Lokasi penelitian diambil gambar bawah air. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada saat surut terrendah dekat hutan mangrove, di hamparan lamunn dan daerah terumbu karang. Sampel lamun dimasukan ke dalam plastik di pisahkan sesuai sub lokasi, sampel di masukan kedalam cool box dan di bawah ke laboratorium untuk di teliti. Lamun dicuci bersih menggunakan air bersih dan diisi dalam plastik sampel dengan memakai alkohol. Lamun di bawah ke laboratorium akan di keringkan dan ditimbang. Hasil biomassa lamun Thalassia hemprichii di lokasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biomassa tertinggi terdapat pada akar, kemudian daun, dan batang.Kata Kunci : Lamun, Biomassa, Thalassia hemprichii.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish families chaetodontidae in coral reef waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng. This study was conducted at 4 stations. Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals chaetodontidae, data analysis aimed to determine number of species, individual abundance, and the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 27 species from 3 genera and 217 number of individuals.  The highest number of species found at station Para 1.  7 species are always found in all observation stations, Chaetodon kleinii, C. punctatofasciatus, C. lunulatus, C. trifascialis, C. vagabundus, Heniochus varius, H. chrysostomus. The species with the largest number of individuals that is Chaetodon kleinii (45 individuals). Chaetodontidae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.207-2.866. Dominance Index are categorized low in the range of 0.078-0.122.  Similarity index are categorized high in the range of 0.922-0.971. Keywords : coral fishes, chaetodontidae, coral reef, Para Island

Abstract

This study aims to provide information about coral reefs condition in Poopoh waters and as input For related stakeholders for future coral reef management and conservation. Data sampling employed SCUBA gear with Line Intercept Transect (LIT) at 3 M and 10 M depth. It used 30 M-transect line and each depth was laid 3 transects.Results showed that the highest number of hard coral colonies at 3 M depth was found in branching coral and the lowest in ACD, while at 10 M depth, the highest number of colonies was recorded in CMR and the lowest in ACB.  Based on percent cover, it was found that the depth of 3 M had moderate coral condition, while the depth of 10 M had poor condition. Both depths had low diversity index, high eveneness index, and low dominance index.Key words: coral reef condition,  percent cover, diversity, evenness, dominance.  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi tentang kondisi terumbu karang di perairan Desa Poopoh sebagai masukan bagi pihak-pihak terkait untuk pengelolaan dan pelestarian terumbu karang di masa mendatang.Pengambilan data terumbu karang menggunakan alat SCUBA dengan metode LIT (Line Intercept Transek) pada kedalaman 3 M dan 10 M. Penelitian in menggunakan 30 M panjang  transek, dan masing-masing kedalaman ditempatkan 3 transek.Jumlah koloni karang batu terbanyak di kedalaman 3 meter ditemukan pada jenis karang bercabang (CB), 4,33 koloni dan jumlah koloni terendah pada ACD, sedangkan pada kedalaman 10 M, koloni terbanyak ditemukan CMR dan terendah pada ACB.  Berdasarkan persentase tutupan, ditemukan bahwa kedalaman 3 meter memiliki kondisi terumbu karang sedang, sedangkan kedalaman 10 M memiliki kondisi terumbu karang buruk. Kedua kedalaman memiliki indeks keanekaragaman (H’) rendah, indeks kemerataan tinggi, dan indeks dominasi tergolong rendah.Kata kunci: kondisi terumbu karang, persen tutupan, keragaman, pemerataan, dominasi.

Abstract

Eel is a unique organism that grows in the freshwater habitat and when they have reached adult stage of life they will migrate thousands of kilometers to the sea for spawning. This research was aimed at identifying the eel species, defining the breadth composition of longitudinal distribution, describing and analyzing the relationship between length and weight (alometric, isometric growth) and the conditional factors, and determining the feeding habit of eels hauled in Kabur river, Rinondoran village, East Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The samples have been collected in April 19th 2015 based on the river length survey method. The hauling process was started at the downstream site which then headed to the upstream. The result of the research showed that there were two (2) species of eel that have been hauled they are Anguilla marmorata and Anguilla celebesensis. The value of F-count < F-table so the H0 is acceptable. It means that there is no difference in the size of eels in terms of their growing sites along the river. b value is 3,19217 so the growing pattern of A. marmorata in Kabur river is positive alometric ( b > 3 ). The average condition factor of every class of the total A. marmorata length is from 0,1691 to 0,2426. In general, the kinds of food usually consumed by the eels are shrimp, worm, and crab. Based on the index of preponderance, the highest percentage of diet is crab. Therefore, crab becomes the main diet with IP value of 78,2. Keywords: Eel, size, growth, conditional factor, feeding habit   A B S T R A K   Sidat adalah organisme unik yang bersifat katadromous yaitu tumbuh di habitat air tawar dan ketika dewasa akan bermigrasi ribuan kilometer untuk mengadakan pemijahan di laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan yaitu mengidentifikasi spesies sidat, menentukan komposisi ukuran sebaran longitudinal, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis hubungan panjang berat (pertumbuhan alometrik, isometrik) serta faktor kondisi, menentukan kebiasaan makanan sidat yang tertangkap di Sungai Kabur, Desa Rinondoran, Kecamatan Likupang Timur, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tanggal 19 april 2015 berdasarkan metode survei sepanjang sungai. Penangkapan di mulai dari hilir sampai menuju hulu sungai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua spesies yang tertangkap yaitu Anguilla marmorata dan Anguilla celebesensis. Nilai F-hitung < F-tabel maka H0 diterima.  Ini berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan ukuran sidat pada tempat di sepanjang sungai.  Nilai b adalah 3,19217 jadi pola pertumbuhan A. marmorata di Sungai Kabur adalah allometrik positif (b > 3).  Nilai faktor kondisi rata – rata pada masing - masing selang kelas panjang total A. marmorata yaitu dengan kisaran antara 0,1691 - 0,2426. Secara keseluruhan makanan yang paling sering dijumpai pada lambung A. marmorata adalah udang, cacing, dan kepiting. Abstract

Sponge samples collected around Manado waters were obtained 30 species and their crude extracted have been tested in vitro for their activity in inhibiting bacterial growth. Based on the results of antibacterial screening in 30 sponge extracts, there were 23 sponge extracts which had bioactivity in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus, E. coli, S. saprophyticus and P. aeruginosa, Sponge extract No. 43 (of 30 sponge extracts tested) was the most active in inhibiting bacterial growth and had the widest inhibition zone diameter.Keywords: screening, sponge, crude extract, antibacterial, ManadoABSTRAKSampel spons dikoleksi di sekitar Perairan Manado sebanyak 30 jenis/spesies, dimana ekstrak kasarnya telah diuji secara in vitro aktivitasnya dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Abstract

A comprehensive research effort was directed to increase the ecological role of Putus-Putus island coral reefs. This study was an implementation of artificial reef technology as fish colonization locality. The artificial reefs were made of 20x20x100 cm-concrete blocks placed in 6 levels and located at the depth of 8-10 m. Reef fish observations were done three times in two locations. Environmental parameters, such as temperature, salinity and visibility, were also measured. Environmental parameters (temperature, salinity a. Water temperature (29.65oC and 29.64oC) supported the coral growth as well. Salinity distribution  was not significantly different among the study sites.  This study also found 37 reef fish species belonging to 18 families. Number of species varied with observed time and localities. Total number of individuals increased with number of fish species. Mean number of individuals and species of reef fish in locality B were higher than those in locality A. Moreover, the reef fish colonization rate in the study site followed the model y = 4.3801e0.5249x with R2= 0.9297 in the strait and y = 5.0397e0.5493x  with R2= 0.9297 for the Bay. Keywords: Artificial reefs, reef fish. Abstrak Suatu upaya penelitian yang komprehensif diarahkan untuk peningkatan fungsi ekologi terumbu karang Pulau Putus-Putus. Penelitian ini berupa penerapan teknologi terumbu buatan sebagai tempat hunian ikan. Terumbu buatan terbuat dari balok cor beton berukuran 20x20x100 cm bersusun 6 dan ditempatkan pada kedalaman 8-10 m. Pengamatan ikan karang dilakukan 3 kali di 2 lokasi berbeda. Parameter lingkungan, seperti suhu, salinitas, dan kecerahan, juga diukur.    Hasil pengukuran yang diperoleh (29,65 oC dan 29,64 oC) termasuk suhu yang optimal untuk pertumbuhan karang. Dari hasil penelitian, ditemukan 37 spesies yang masuk dalam 18 famili ikan karang. Jumlah spesies yang ditemukan bervariasi pada setiap waktu dan lokasi pengamatan. Pengambilan spesies ikan karang dilakukan pada 2 lokasi dengan masing-masing lokasi dilakukan 3 kali pengambilan sampel. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh (tabel 03) dapat dilihat bahwa jumlah individu bertambah seiring dengan banyaknya jumlah spesies ikan karang yang didapat. Rata-rata jumlah individu dan jumlah spesies ikan karang pada lokasi B lebih banyak. Laju hunian ikan karang di lokasi penelitian mengikuti model y = 4.3801e0.5249x dengan R2= 0,9297 untuk lokasi Selat dan y = 5.0397e0.5493x  dengan R2= 0,9297 untuk lokasi Teluk. Abstract

This study aims to determine the biological appearance of globe fish that includes size distribution, growth pattern, sex ratio and maturity level of gonad (TKG) in Tanjung Salonggar Melonguane waters of Talaud Islands Regency. Sampling was conducted from May to July 2017. Decapterus macrosoma has found during the study were 268 with total size of 150 - 244 mm and the weight ranged from 34 to 142 grams. Kite fish caught in Tanjung Salonggar has a negative allometric growth type that is the length increase faster than weight gain (b <3). The sex ratio of male fish and female fish is equal to 1: 1, with maturity level of Gonad (TKG) I up to TKG V. The highest gonadal maturity level is found in June and July, both male and female fish, while in May fish which is caught predominantly by an immature fish gonad. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Juli 2017. Ikan layang Decapterus macrosoma yang diperoleh selama penelitian sebanyak 268 ekor dengan Sebaran ukuran panjang total 150 – 244 mm dan berat berkisar 34 – 142 gram. Ikan layang yang tertangkap di Tanjung Salonggar memiliki tipe pertumbuhan allometrik negatif yaitu pertambahan panjang lebih cepat dari pertambahan berat (b < 3). Rasio kelamin ikan jantan dan ikan betina adalah seimbang  yaitu 1 : 1, dengan Tingkat Kematangan Gonad  (TKG ) I sampai dengan TKG V. Tingkat kematangan gonad tertinggi ditemukan pada bulan Juni dan Juli, baik ikan jantan maupun ikan betina, sementara pada bulan Mei ikan yang tertangkap didominasi oleh ikan yang belum matang gonad.Kata kunci : Tampilan biologis, Decapterus macrosoma, Pola pertumbuhan.
