Abstract

This paper explores how the quality of education can be enhanced by developing teachers' social competence, allowing them to address the challenges posed by the rapidly changing times. The data for this study were collected through a literature review, analyzing various concepts and theories. Numerous published sources, including research papers, journals, and records, were used as references. The study's findings emphasize teachers' crucial role in improving education quality. As they directly engage with students during the teaching and learning process, teachers are primarily responsible for imparting knowledge and skills and fostering independence, intelligence, and knowledge based on individual talents and abilities. When teachers possess social competence, they become positive role models for students. In conclusion, teachers should strive to set an excellent example for their students. Having highly competent teachers can significantly enhance the overall quality of education.

Abstract

Thesis is one of the biggest challenges for students. This is because students often do not understand the method of writing a thesis as a scientific paper. This research was carried out to examine the mastery of research methodology and statistics on the quality of student thesis. The research method used in this study is quantitative research. The results of this study then found a positive and very significant relationship between mastery of educational research methodology material and the quality of the thesis. Then a positive and very significant relationship was also found between the level of student mastery of the statistics course material and thesis quality. Finally, the hypothesis testing concluded that between the variables of student mastery of research methodology material and statistics course material, there was a positive and very significant relationship with the thesis quality of university students.

Abstract

Documenting the salafiyah pesantren dynamics that have persisted in Indonesia for millennia is a massive undertaking. In today's world, salafiyah Islamic boarding schools and the whirlwind of politics and economics that surrounds them are on the margins. The Covid 19 Pandemic of the 21st century was a major occurrence that disrupted many established systems because of a lack of preparation. It is fascinating to watch the Salafiyah pesantren's dynamic evolve in this context. This study examines how the Salafiyah pesantren in Kebumen, Indonesia, adapted the Kitab Kuning as a means of instruction. Salafiyah Pesantren in Kebumen is the subject of this study using descriptive qualitative research methods which use observation and interview techniques by taking the oldest Pesantren and having a big role in Kebumen. The result of this research is that the Salafiyah Islamic boarding school in Kebumen is trying to make major changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the form of a major change in learning media from traditional media to online media, namely using information technology such as mobile phones, which previously was not allowed for students, turning into a necessity for students to have a mobile phone to recite the Kitab Kuning. This dynamic brings changes in behaviour for students, namely the use of health protocols and using social media such as YouTube and WhatsApp as a medium for learning long-distance students.

Abstract

One of the key factors in the formation of national character and identity is Islamic religious education. Islamic religious education must be able to transform into a spirit that guides technology so that it is always useful in human existence in this digital 4.0 era when communication originating from a certain matter becomes global. In order to strengthen the formation of national character, this research looks for ways to incorporate science and technology into Islamic religious education. The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method that describes the current conditions of Islamic religious education learning and its relation to the nation's character building. The result of this research is that Islamic religious education should not be monolithic but must be integrated with non-religious subjects as well as science and technology so that today's young generation are willing and interested in studying religion well and Islamic religious education can be of value. which colors every skill and profession of Indonesian citizens, so that the morals and morals of the nation develop well according to the example of the Prophet Muhammad and aspired to by the state.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of digitalization of education on urban society. The Background of this research is that the rapid development of technology and information has resulted in changes in various aspects of life, especially in urban areas. One area that feels the impact is the realm of education. The teacher’s ability to provide material accompanied by suitable methods will provide good learning outcomes. The approach in this research is qualitative by using an evaluation method through case studies. This is done by two junior high schools in the Jabodetabek region. The impact of digitalization of education for urban communities is the opening of understanding of teachers and students about the benefits of digital in the world of education. It started the program by making every student aware of the importance of reading through the School Literacy Movement by facilitating students and teachers with libraries. Education is developing in the digitalization of education by encouraging students and teachers to use digital libraries. This effort is strengthened by implementing learning by making digital-based teaching materials, namely by including images, photos and videos in each lesson. One of the teacher's innovations in digital-based learning is to facilitate virtual field trips, where each student can access various interesting information and historical places by using the services of a bolger or guide directly at the destination.

Abstract

Collaborative learning is a pedagogical approach that encourages students to actively engage in discussions and cooperative work within a classroom setting. The method of learning holds significant importance in the pursuit of educational objectives. The objective of this study is to assess the impact of collaborative approaches on enhancing students' creativity and critical thinking skills. The research employed a descriptive test, a data normality test, and multiple linear regression analysis as the chosen methodological approaches. The researchers employed a data collection method by administering a questionnaire to a sample of 48 students engaged in collaborative learning. The questionnaire was distributed via a Google form. The focus of this study is on collaborative learning (Ŷ) as the dependent variable, whereas the independent factors include creativity ability (X1) and critical thinking (X2). The findings of the data analysis were conducted using multiple linear regression tests. The present study employs descriptive quantitative research methodologies, utilising a data collection instrument consisting of a four-point Likert scale questionnaire. Then, the data analysis used is a linear regression test, statistical test and data normality test. From the results of multiple linear regression analysis that has been done, it is obtained that the variables of creativity (X1) and critical thinking (X2) have a linear effect on the application of collaborative learning (Ŷ). It is also seen that the most influential variable is creativity (X1), with a value of 77.9%. The determination value (R2 ) is 0.796, meaning that 79.6% of the increase in creativity and critical thinking is influenced by the application of collaborative learning. Through the ANOVA test, it is also known that all independent variables simultaneously affect the dependent variable and through the T value hypothesis test, it is proven that all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. So we conclude that there is an effect of the application of collaborative learning in increasing students' creativity and critical thinking in the independent curriculum, with the total effect of creativity of 77.9% and critical thinking of 27.1%.

Abstract

This present study aims to explore the cultural values represented in the local EFL textbook as a source of learning materials in Islamic Junior High Schools. This study implemented a qualitative approach as a research design. Three English teachers as participants were recruited purposively. The data collected from textbook analysis using the types of speech acts, and politeness strategies through the theory of Critical Discourse Analysis. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to strengthen the data. Then, the data were analyzed thematically. The study revealed that local English textbooks effectively represented cultural values and beliefs. The finding showed that the EFL local textbooks effectually encourage cultural awareness and English language proficiency among students. The cultural values performed in the textbook are greetings, politeness, self-introduction, hobbies, and family interactions, which exhibit the polite culture of how Indonesians communicate. The representation of family lunch highlighted the tradition that shapes Indonesian culture. Additionally, it implied that the teachers perceived the content in the textbook because it highlights moral values that are suitable in Indonesian culture. It has a significant implication for establishing English curricula to construct a proper local English textbook for Islamic junior high school students. This study demonstrated that local English textbooks included interesting and collaborative activities that highlighted Islamic traditions, fostering tolerance and respect. It also highlighted moral and cultural values that students could use to develop good manners.

Abstract

The emergence of radicalism in society, including on campuses, can also be associated with a universal lack of understanding and a deepening of religion. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze Islamic education learning strategies in order to prevent radicalization among students. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning is the main factor that can improve a person's mindset, including students. As a result, students must be supported through effective and optimal learning strategies. Qualitative research methods are used in this research. The subjects of this study were all relevant informants and participants in the learning process at a university in Bandung, namely the coordinators of PAI lecturers, PAI lecturers, and students. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and document studies. Data analysis uses triangulation techniques. The PAI learning strategy has been implemented effectively and adequately in an effort to prevent radicalism among students by carrying out several stages, including; planning in learning based on setting goals to be achieved in PAI learning which refers to a curriculum that is integrated with various scientific fields, using personal methods/approaches and social interactions between educators and students in the learning process, planning in learning based on setting goals to be achieved in PAI high level of understanding is one of the four indicators of program success.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop multimodal mathematics and Indonesian language books for learning in elementary schools, (2) determine the feasibility level of multimodal mathematics and Indonesian books for learning in elementary schools. This study used the Borg and Gall development model research method which consisted of (1) preliminary study, (2) initial product development, (3) expert validation and product revision, (4) limited field trials and product revision, (5) test try the field and the final product. The resulting product is an Android-based learning media in the form of multimodal books for learning mathematics and Indonesian in elementary schools with the subject, integer arithmetic operations, mixed integer arithmetic operations, determining mixed arithmetic operations with whole numbers, looking for main ideas and writing poetry in elementary schools. Based on the formulation of the problem, research results, and discussion, the results of this study can be concluded that (1) the development of Multimodal Book considered several product characteristics, namely, (a) students play an active role, (b) precise and consistent language, (c) music selection, background, buttons, types, colors, attractive letters, (d) animations and images support elementary school students' understanding, (2) multimodal Mathematics and Indonesian Language Books for Elementary School Learning are appropriate to use and can improve the learning of Mathematics and Indonesian Language for Elementary School students in West Bandung Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of the online learning system on the professionalism of the performance of lecturers at the university, which has around 300 staff from Kopertis, Foundation, and Extraordinary. As a percentage of educational qualifications, 85% have received a master's degree. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method with data collection carried out through literature studies, observation, document analysis, and literature studies. The results of the study show that leadership is still considered the dominant factor influencing the success and failure of an organization. Lecturer professionalism is stated if the lecturer fulfils the lecturer's workload, which includes main activities: planning, process implementation, evaluation of learning outcomes, guidance and training, and conducting research. In addition, carrying out additional duties and community service. The Covid-19 era that hit Indonesia has also changed the perception and implementation regarding the professionalism of the performance of lecturers. The university issued guidelines on preventing Covid-19 by making nine policy steps, namely extending distance lectures until the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, providing special treatment for students who experience difficulties in online remote lectures such as network disruptions (among other things can be replaced by learning through modules, assignments to make scientific work and others), guidance activities and implementation of proposal seminars are carried out through online facilities and may meet face to face with due observance of Covid-19 handling standards and the maximum number of attendees is five people namely two supervisors, one examiner as well as students attending green table sessions and the head of the study program.
