Abstract

This study investigates the positive relationship between educational administrative knowledge, work motivation, and leadership effectiveness among heads of madrasahs. Employing a quantitative correlational survey method, the research targeted 195 heads of MTs. Private in Serang Regency, with a sample size of 30 heads (16% of the population). Instrument reliability was confirmed with Cronbach's alpha values of 0.938 for leadership effectiveness, 0.89 for educational administrative knowledge, and 0.94 for work motivation. Data analysis utilized correlation and regression formulas. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between educational administrative knowledge (X1) and leadership effectiveness (Y), represented by the regression equation Ŷ = 35.22 + 3X1, with a correlation coefficient of 0.998 at α = 0.05. Additionally, a significant positive relationship was found between work motivation (X2) and leadership effectiveness (Y), described by the regression equation Ŷ = -33.011 + 1.30X2, with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 at α = 0.05. Furthermore, the combined analysis showed a significant positive relationship between educational administrative knowledge (X1) and work motivation (X2) with leadership effectiveness (Y), represented by the equation Ŷ = 3.62 + 1.74X1 + 0.58X2, with a correlation coefficient value of Ry12 = 0.984. These results underscore the importance of educational administrative knowledge and work motivation in enhancing leadership effectiveness among madrasah heads, suggesting that targeted professional development in these areas could significantly improve leadership performance in educational institutions.

The respondents in this study were school principals, class 1 teachers, and class 4 teachers. The technique for selecting samples used purposive sampling, which is a method for sampling data sources with several considerations. The principal is implementing academic supervision for grade 1 teachers and grade 4 teachers, who have implemented the independent curriculum, while other classes are still using the 2013 curriculum. This research method is a qualitative phenomenology with a case study. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used were flow, data reduction, and data presentation at the verification stage. Testing the validity of the data was carried out by using a triangulation approach. The academic supervision results for two teachers during the planning stage were both in the suitable category, with recap values of 86% and 89%, respectively. During the implementation stage, the class 1 teacher received a score of 86% in the excellent category, while the class 4 teacher achieved a score of 91% in the outstanding category. Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of coping strategies for English language anxiety among lecturers and students within religious and general study programs, employing a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative T-tests and qualitative interviews. Results indicate significant differences in the anxiety-coping strategies between lecturers and students, with distinct variations across the two types of study programs. While strategies among religious and general program lecturers showed no significant differences, a marked contrast was observed between students of these programs, highlighting the influence of disciplinary context on anxiety management. The study reveals that lecturers and students successfully use tailored strategies to mitigate language anxiety, suggesting the importance of contextualized approaches. Based on these findings, it is recommended that educational institutions develop specific training programs that enhance the capability of educators and students to manage language anxiety effectively. Such programs should focus on communication techniques, psychological resilience, and cultural awareness, which are crucial in diverse academic environments. The implications of this research support a differentiated approach to language education policy, advocating for interventions sensitive to the unique challenges and needs of various academic disciplines.

Abstract

This research investigates how a method known as Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), which is a tool for making decisions based on multiple criteria, might be utilized in the field of education. The goal is to determine the most effective techniques for enhancing the educational process based on a variety of variables, such as student performance, the efficacy of teachers, the relevance of the curriculum, the allocation of resources, and student participation. According to the findings, the solutions that are most likely to be chosen include introducing more interactive teaching methods as well as instituting a school-wide gamification system. However, some limitations of the SAW technique have been recognized. These shortcomings include the method's assumption of the independence of criteria and its sensitivity to weight assignments. The paper's authors concluded by giving suggestions for future research topics. These include the investigation of the impact different weight assignments have on the findings obtained by using the SAW approach, as well as the exploration of other decision-making systems. This research is an important contribution to the expanding body of knowledge on the application of decision-support systems in education and offers insightful information that can be helpful to teachers, school administrators, and policymakers.

Abstract

This development research attempts to improve learning outcomes and sports science, especially physical fitness. The programme uses learning apps and instructional videos. In each face-to-face session, the learning app includes lecture explanations, videos of learning variations, fitness programme preparation, and other blended learning instructions. When researchers realised students needed an independent learning curriculum to complete the 20 SKS Thematic KKN programme off campus, they came up with this proposal. Help students access all Thematic KKN lectures. The quantitative research method leverages Sugiono's R D method to develop and evaluate items that meet goals. After this investigation, students' cognitive abilities, programme compilation capabilities, and fitness activity variants will be assessed. Three experts—two material and one media—will validate the Android-based learning medium in advance. 40% know the needs analysis, and experts' validation percentage. The average validation value with a bad category is 29%–46%. The small group test has 63% validity, according to expert review. The validation value is 47%–64%, which is good enough for the large group test stage following repair. With an outstanding category, application-based learning media for physical fitness activities is developed effectively and efficiently. The large group test has 94% validity, and the average validation score is 83% to 100%. The small group test of 16 Medan State University students of Physical Education, Sports, and Recreation had a score of 66% with a good category, and the large group test of 32 students had a score of 88% with a very good category. Thus, researchers can improve student learning results in physical fitness activity classes utilising an Android-based software.

Abstract

Research on the emotions felt by master’s students in the face of difficulties during the process of writing a thesis proposal has been scarce in higher education.  This study adopted a qualitative approach, while the type of research was a narrative inquiry. This study used semi-structured interviews to explore three masters' ELT students’ emotional geography in      writing thesis proposals at a university in Indonesia and using thematic analysis to analyze the data. This study was framed by Emotional Geography (EG) as a means for understanding masters' ELT students' voices in thesis proposal writing. This result revealed that masters’ ELT students experienced various emotions, such as positive and negative emotions, that arise through their relationship and interaction with their thesis supervisor, which influenced the writing of their thesis proposal. As such, EG has provided insight about the role of emotional aspects which thesis supervisors can apply as a strategy for building relationships with students that support the proposal writing process.
